Definitions

  • the invention is based on a flush valve.
  • Flush valves usually have a valve body, which is connected to a water pipe in a building wall. The exact position of the valve body can not be determined exactly.
  • the control element for operating the concealed valve must be attached to the front of the wall.
  • the thickness of the plaster layer and possibly the tiles can not be accurately predict. Therefore, the flush valve must be given a way to compensate for the different thicknesses.
  • EP-PS 281878 There is already a flush valve known ( EP-PS 281878 ), which has at its front a telescopically two-piece protective sleeve and in this a telescopic extension of the rotary spindle.
  • the telescopic design of the protective sleeve and the extension of the rotary spindle mean increased effort and also have the disadvantage that the adjustment is limited.
  • a flush valve having the features of the preamble of claim 1 ( EP-A1-88 984 ), in which on an actuating spindle of a valve upper part, a hollow spindle is rotatably attached, at the outer end of a handle can be attached.
  • the hollow spindle is surrounded by a protective sleeve with a continuous internal thread.
  • the protective sleeve can be shortened to adapt to different thicknesses.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a flush valve, which has a particularly large compensation area with a simple structure and simple installation.
  • the invention proposes a flush valve with the features mentioned in claim 1. Further developments of the invention are the subject of dependent claims.
  • the outer tube and the extension element for the actuating element serve to bridge the distance between the wall surface and the valve housing.
  • the extension element can be shortened or cut to length.
  • the installer only needs to shorten the outer tube and / or the extension element with the tools that are available to him and are always carried along. This can for example be done with a simple saw, if the outer tube or the extension element is made of metal. Even with a production of plastic, the pipe can be sawn off. Although the sawing seems to be an additional step, on the other hand it also means that the flush valve can be constructed much simpler and that the adjustment is greater.
  • the outer tube and / or the extension element have separating grooves. These can be arranged at a regular distance of, for example, 5 millimeters. They make it easier to set up the saw and make it possible for the installer to count only on the notches how far he has to saw off the pipe.
  • Such separation notches are particularly advantageous even if the corresponding element is provided with an external thread. Then the notches can serve to prevent that the threads are damaged or destroyed during sawing.
  • the outer tube is designed for attachment of a rosette.
  • a sleeve can be attached to the outer tube, which defines the rosette on the wall surface. This can be done by positive engagement, adhesion or otherwise, for. B. by a locking connection.
  • the attachable to the outer tube sleeve is a nut with a cylindrical outer side.
  • the nut is fixed by means of a thread on the outer tube. This screwing forms one of the ways to achieve that the flush valve has a continuously variable compensation area.
  • the cylindrical outer side which is possibly polished, chrome-plated or otherwise designed as a visible surface, serves to compensate for a gap that may still exist between the rosette and the handle.
  • the length of the cylindrical outer side of the nut is greater than the distance of the separating notches of the extension element. Because the separating notches determine the smallest measure by which an adaptation to the plaster thickness is possible. An existing gap between the handle and the rosette is then covered by the cylindrical sleeve or the outside thereof. The further stepless fine adjustment can be done by the driving spindle.
  • the handle via an adapter element with the extension element is connectable.
  • the adapter element in different axial positions and / or rotational positions with the handle and / or the connecting element is connectable.
  • the adapter element can be connected to the connecting element via a plug connection. It is particularly favorable, however, if the adapter element is connected via a threaded connection with the connecting element. Then a stepless adaptation to the different plaster thicknesses is possible.
  • the flush valve Since the operation of the flush valve is usually a rotary movement, it may be provided according to the invention that the determination in the direction of actuation by axial and / or radial pins. These can, as soon as the correct position of the adapter element relative to the connecting element has been carried out, inserted or inserted into corresponding openings.
  • the thread of the adapter element and the thread of the connecting element have axially complementary grooves which receive an axial pin in mutual alignment.
  • the edge of the handle engages over the sleeve.
  • the outer tube can be screwed onto the valve housing.
  • the outer tube can also be removed, if a so-called valve upper part is to be removed from the front side when the valve housing is installed.
  • the adapter element is guided with its outer side on the inside of the outer tube upon actuation of the valve. This prevents grip wobbling and also relieves the valve spindle from radial forces.
  • Fig. 1 is a vertical section through a wall 1 laid.
  • the wall is provided with a thick layer of plaster 2, while in the lower half of the plaster layer 2 is much thinner.
  • valve housing 3 In the wall, a valve housing 3 is mounted in an unspecified well, which is connected to an indicated water pipe 4. At the in FIG. 1 right front 5 is screwed into the valve housing 3, a valve head 6. It has in its front region training in the form of a hex nut 7. For operating the upper valve part is an actuating element 8, in the example shown, a rotary spindle.
  • an outer tube 10 is screwed.
  • the outer tube protrudes through a corresponding opening in the plaster layer 2 to the outside and serves to hold a rosette 11, which covers the edge of the opening and is present for optical reasons.
  • the outer tube 10 has on its outer side an external thread 12 on which a nut 13 is screwed from the free end.
  • the nut 13 has an inner sleeve with an internal thread.
  • a cylindrical outer sleeve 15 is connected via a disc member 14, which includes a cylindrical outer surface 16. This lateral surface 16 is polished or otherwise optically processed so that it has a pleasing appearance.
  • the rosette 11 is fixed to the nut 13 by means not explained in detail institutions. By screwing the nut 13 on the external thread 12 of the outer tube 10, the rosette 11 is acted upon against the wall surface and thus fixed.
  • the outer tube has in the region of the hexagonal shoulder 7 an inwardly directed collar whose inner diameter corresponds to the outer diameter of the hexagonal shoulder. From the collar 17 to the inner opening of the outer tube 10 expands again.
  • a connecting element 18 is mounted and connected to the rotary spindle by a screw 19.
  • the screw 19 engages through an inner opening 20 of the connecting element 18 and sets the connecting element 18 so on the rotary spindle that it can not be pulled off axially.
  • the rotary connection is achieved by the teeth or in any other way.
  • the connecting element 18 has an external thread 21.
  • the adapter element 22 On the external thread 21 of the connecting element 18, an adapter element 22 is screwed.
  • the adapter element has the shape of a sleeve closed on one side with a protrusion 23 projecting outward on the closed part. This projection is shaped similar to the actuating projection of the valve top 6 and serves to attach a handle 24 by means of a snap connection 24a, to which the handle is snapped.
  • the adapter element has at its from left in FIG. 1 open inside a female thread, with which it is screwed onto the external thread 21 of the extension member 18. By screwing can for a given length of the extension element the position of the handle 24 relative to the front of the wall, or be set against the rosette.
  • the handle 24 has a handle shell whose outer edge region 25 overlaps over the front edge 26 of the outer sleeve 15.
  • the front edge 26 is therefore not visible to the viewer, as it is covered by the handle 24.
  • the user can see only the space between the edge 25 of the handle 24 and the rosette 11, at which point the visually appealing designed outside 16 of the sleeve 15 can be seen.
  • To fix the adapter element 22 in a once assumed axial position relative to the connecting element 18 serve axially extending pins 27, which are used after the adjustment of the adapter element 22 relative to the extension member 18. This action of the pins 27 will be described schematically with reference to FIGS FIG. 2 explained.
  • the outer side of the connecting element 18 includes in the example shown two in cross-section semi-circular grooves 28.
  • the inside of the adapter member 22 also includes two semi-circular in cross-section grooves 29.
  • the grooves 28 in the Extension element 18 and the grooves 29 in the adapter element 22 extend in the axial direction. They have the same radius of curvature.
  • the in FIG. 2 is shown, complement each two grooves 28, 29 to a cylindrical opening. In this opening or the hole formed thereby a locking pin 27 is inserted in each case. This sets the angular position.
  • a rotation of the adapter element 22 leads to a rotation of the locking element 18 and thus to the actuation of the actuating element 18 of the valve.
  • the pins 27 have at their one, in FIG. 1 right end to a slightly widened head 30, which limits their insertion into the holes formed by the grooves. On the outside of the head 30 then abuts the snap connection 24a, which is screwed onto the front end of the adapter element 22.
  • locking pins can also be realized by snap-in tongues or the like integral with the adapter element 22 or the connecting element 18. Then the adapter element 22 and the snap connection 24a could be in one piece.
  • the outer tube 10 and the extension member 18 is shortened accordingly, sawed off, for example with a saw. This can be done by the installer. If necessary, he can cut through the two tubes in a section of equal length.
  • the outer surface of the outer tube 10 includes individual peripheral cut-off notches 32, for example, spaced 5 mm apart and slightly deeper than the threads of the outer thread 12. If the installer saws in these notches 32, it will be damaged the external thread 12 is not.
  • the outer side of the connecting element 18 contains separating notches 33, which are likewise arranged at a certain axial distance, which is preferably equal to the distance of the separating notches 32 of the outer tube 10.
  • the built-in valve after completion of the cover layer can be adjusted so that the handle can always be arranged at the desired position in relation to the wall surface.
  • the valve is simple and has a very large adjustment range.
