Definitions

  • the invention relates to a retaining device (also known colloquially as a gully screen), in particular for the drainage of water from flat roofs.
  • a retaining device also known colloquially as a gully screen
  • Such retaining devices are known, for example, from US 6,165,357 A or the EP 2 247 804 B1 They are used to protect the water drain/gutter of roofs, especially flat roofs, from the ingress of leaves, branches and other contaminants. Over time, these contaminants lead to the Drain is blocked and as a result the drainage of the roof is no longer guaranteed.
  • the retaining devices must be connected to the drain without affecting or even damaging the roof covering.
  • EP 2 247 804 B1 It is known to secure the retaining device with the help of holding arms that protrude into the drain and are then pivoted outwards.
  • This type of fastening is advantageous because it is based on a frictional connection between the support arms and the drain.
  • the roof covering is not damaged and due to the length of the support arms and the swivel angle of the support arms, one and the same retaining device can be installed in drains of different diameters.
  • the pivoting of the holding arms takes place at the EP 2 247 804 B1 via a worm gear.
  • a rotary handle drives a threaded worm that meshes with teeth on the holding arms. Due to the continuous rotation of the threaded worm, the holding arms slowly swing outwards until the distal ends of the holding arms rest against the inner wall of the drain.
  • the force with which the holding arms are pressed against the drain is difficult to control and depends on the attention and feeling of the fitter. There is a risk that the holding arms or the clamping force between the holding arms and the drain will become so great that the holding arms break. The device will then be damaged and no longer usable.
  • the swivel angle of the holding arms distributed around the circumference is different, so that the retaining device is not centered over the drain.
  • the invention is based on the object of providing a restraint device which is of simple construction, can be assembled more quickly and during the assembly of which a defined force can be produced between the holding arms and the drain, so that on the one hand the fastening is sufficiently secure and on the other hand an overload of the holding arms can be avoided.
  • a retaining device comprising a collecting basket and a holding device for fixing the retaining device in a drain pipe
  • the holding device has a base body, holding arms pivotably mounted on the base body and means for pivoting the holding arms between a holding position and a release position, in that the base body has a central bore in which a toothed sleeve with several external toothed strips in is guided so as to be displaceable in the axial direction, and that each holding arm has several teeth which mesh with the toothed strip of the toothed sleeve.
  • each holding arm is assigned a toothed strip which is formed on the toothed sleeve.
  • the toothed strip and the teeth of the holding arms mesh with one another, so that the holding arms carry out the desired pivoting movement by axially displacing the toothed sleeve relative to the base body.
  • a rotary movement of the toothed sleeve is not required in order to pivot the holding arms from a released position into a held position.
  • the toothed sleeve is guided axially displaceably in the central bore of the base body; it is not necessary for the toothed sleeve to be rotatable in the central bore of the base body.
  • the holding arms retain their pivoting position. If the holding arms rest against the drain with their distal ends in this position, the desired frictional connection is created between the holding arms and the drain, so that the retaining device is connected to the drain or attached to it.
  • Each holding arm is assigned a toothed rack. For example, if three holding arms are provided, then A toothed strip is formed on the outside of the tooth sleeve, offset by 120°.
  • the tooth strips by forming a series of grooves and projections on the outside of the tooth sleeve.
  • the teeth have no pitch, but are self-contained rings that are arranged one behind the other in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tooth sleeve. Between two ring-shaped teeth there is a ring-shaped tooth gap.
  • the device according to the invention is very simple in construction and the assembly in one process is very quick.
  • the clamping force between the lower ends of the holding arms and the drain can be precisely adjusted by the position of the toothed sleeve relative to the base body. Due to the very direct conversion of the axial movement of the toothed sleeve into a pivoting movement of the holding arms, a fitter has very direct haptic feedback as to the force with which the holding arms press against the drain. The clamping force can therefore be adjusted very sensitively.
  • the toothed sleeve is locked in the central bore using the inventive means for locking the toothed sleeve. This means that the pivot position of the holding arms and their pre-tension remain constant over the entire
  • the restraint device must have a predetermined operating time and the restraint device must be held in place with the desired pre-tension or clamping force.
  • a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the means for locking comprise a fastening rod, that the fastening rod is coaxial with the toothed sleeve and can also be displaced in the axial direction relative to the base body, that the fastening rod and the toothed sleeve are directly or indirectly coupled to one another, and that the fastening rod can be fixed in at least one position on the base body.
  • the mounting rod is also referred to as the "rod” below.
  • the toothed sleeve and the rod are made as one piece. Then tensile forces can also be transmitted between the rod and the toothed sleeve. However, this is usually not necessary. It is sufficient if the The rod and the toothed sleeve are coupled together in such a way that the rod can push the toothed sleeve in one direction and thus cause the desired relative movement between the toothed sleeve and the base body. As a result, the holding arms are pivoted from the released position to a holding position. The larger the diameter of the drain, the further the holding arms must be pivoted outwards in order to create the desired frictional connection between the drain and the ends of the holding arms.
  • the rod has a shoulder.
  • a compression spring for example a helical spring, is provided between the shoulder and the toothed sleeve.
  • a force acting in the axial direction is transferred from the rod to the toothed sleeve via the shoulder and the compression spring.
  • This type of force transmission is more indirect than if the rod sits directly on the toothed sleeve. This makes it possible to adjust the spring force or the holding force between the holding arms and the drain even more sensitively. This ensures a very reliable, safe and long-lasting locking or fastening of the restraint device in the drain of a roof.
  • the optional compression spring compensates for changes in the clamping force of the holding arms if, for example, the holding arms or the clamping force of the holding arms should decrease slightly during the process due to temperature fluctuations or signs of aging, so that even over many years the desired holding force or clamping force is maintained between the ends of the holding arms and the drain.
  • a shoulder is formed in the front side of the toothed sleeve, which accommodates the compression spring. Firstly, this ensures even better centering of the compression spring relative to the rod and the toothed sleeve. In addition, the compression spring can be made longer if the height of the retaining device remains the same. This makes the spring "softer" - with otherwise the same design parameters.
  • At least one bayonet connection is formed between the rod and the base body.
  • This bayonet connection does not have to be formed directly in the base body, but can also be implemented indirectly via a locking sleeve that is connected to the base body.
  • a bayonet connection is characterized by the fact that, in the application according to the invention, several teeth are arranged in one plane on the fastening rod.
  • axial grooves are provided according to the number of teeth and between the axial grooves at least one circular arc or circular segment-shaped projection is arranged.
  • the optional spring between the rod and the base body and/or the elasticity of the holding arms also ensures that the teeth of the rod always remain in contact with the projections in the base body. This means that it is not possible for them to come loose.
  • the spring force between the rod and the toothed sleeve is transferred to the base body, creating a closed flow of force.
  • the retaining device is intended for use in drains with different diameters, it is advantageous if several projections are provided in the base body or the locking sleeve one behind the other in the axial direction. In addition, it can also be advantageous if several teeth are formed one behind the other on the rod in the axial direction. This means that several bayonet locks are arranged one behind the other. It is then possible to lock the toothed strip in different positions in the base body using one or more of these bayonet connections. The clamping force between the holding arms and the drain is then independent of the diameter of the drain in which the retaining device is to be mounted.
  • the part of the bayonet connection(s) associated with the base body is formed in a two-part locking sleeve.
  • This locking sleeve is then accommodated in the base body, for example in a shoulder or in the central bore.
  • This split design with, for example, a two-part locking sleeve makes it easier to produce the undercuts in the locking sleeve, which serve as abutments for the teeth of the rod. In principle, however, it is also possible to implement this functionality in one piece in the base body.
  • the means for locking the rod have an external thread section on the rod and a threaded sleeve inserted into the base body or an internal thread in the base body. It is then possible to change the axial position of the rod relative to the base body by screwing the rod into the threaded sleeve and thereby also change the position of the toothed sleeve relative to the base body. As a result, the holding arms are pivoted. When the holding arms have reached the desired pivot position, the screwing in of the rod is stopped. Due to the self-locking nature of the thread, no further securing of the rod is required. In this way, too, the position of the rod is transferred directly or indirectly to the toothed sleeve with the aid of a compression spring and the pivot position of the holding arms can thus be adjusted sensitively and easily.
  • the base body has a flange at its end opposite the holding arms.
  • This flange serves to connect the collecting basket to the base body. This can be done using snap connections. For example, several openings can be arranged in the flange distributed over the circumference, which form a snap connection with correspondingly arranged and shaped locking hooks on the underside of the collecting basket.
  • the flange has a sufficiently large surface area, a secure connection between the collecting basket and the base body is possible.
  • the base body and the collecting basket can also be designed as one piece. It is possible to integrate the base body into the collecting basket or to design the base body as an insert and place it in the injection mold used to produce the collecting basket.
  • the rod extends through the collecting basket and a rotary handle is formed on the part of the rod that is located above the collecting basket.
  • a rotary handle is formed on the part of the rod that is located above the collecting basket.
  • the toothed sleeve is designed in such a way that the external toothed strips are designed as circumferential grooves or circular teeth on the outer circumference of the toothed sleeve. This simplifies production, but also simplifies assembly. These grooves and teeth have no pitch. This means that each tooth is a self-contained ring which is surrounded by the axially spaced adjacent ring by a groove.
  • FIG. 1 a flat roof with a drain 3 is shown.
  • a retaining device 5 according to the invention is inserted into this drain 3.
  • a collecting basket 7 and a rotary handle 9 are visible from the retaining device 5 according to the invention.
  • the rotary handle 11 is in the Figure 1 shown in the open position ("open”). If the rotary handle 9 is turned by 90°, a rod connected to it assumes the closed position ("lock").
  • the collecting basket keeps leaves, branches and other coarse impurities away so that only the rainwater passes through the collecting basket 7 into the drain 3.
  • FIG 2 is a section through the restraint device 5 according to Figure 1
  • the section plane is positioned so that two holding arms 13 are visible.
  • the retaining device 5 has a base body 11 on which several holding arms 13 are pivotably mounted.
  • the holding arms 13 are pivoted by means for pivoting the holding arms, which are integrated in the base body 11. pivoted outwards until their distal ends rest against the inner wall of the drain 3. There, a frictional connection is created between the holding arms 13 and the drain 3. In this way, the retaining device 5 is fastened in the drain 3 in a frictional manner.
  • the retaining arms 13 must be pivoted outwards more or less in order to achieve the desired frictional connection.
  • the distal ends of the holding arms 13 do not touch the outlet 3, so that the retaining device is not force-fitted to the outlet 3.
  • the base body 11 is shown in two side views.
  • the bearing holes 15 for the holding arms 13 can be clearly seen in these views.
  • the retaining device has three holding arms, so that the bearing holes 15 for the three holding arms 13 are distributed over the circumference and offset by 120°.
  • the bearing bores 15 are arranged in the bearing receptacle 16.
  • the bearing receptacles 16 are designed like reinforcing ribs that are connected to a flange 17. This results in a very light and rigid construction of the base housing 11.
  • the base body 11 has a central bore 21 which is designed as a stepped bore. At the lower end of the base body, the central bore 21 has a diameter of 23.
  • a toothed sleeve 25 according to the invention is shown in partial longitudinal section.
  • the toothed sleeve 25 has a recess 27 arranged coaxially to the longitudinal axis of the toothed sleeve 25.
  • a through hole 29 (optional) is formed in the lower part of the toothed sleeve 25. The rod 37 is guided in the through hole 29.
  • toothed strips 31 are formed in the lower area. Number of toothed strips 31 corresponds to the number of holding arms 13.
  • alternating circumferential grooves 33 and teeth 34 are machined into the outer contour of the toothed sleeve 25, so that a toothed strip is formed, so to speak, whose teeth 34 and grooves 33 are designed as rings that extend over the entire circumference of the toothed sleeve 25.
  • the toothed sleeve 25 is accommodated and guided in the central bore 21 of the base body 11 so as to be displaceable in the axial direction.
  • the toothed strips 31 of the toothed sleeve 25 act with the holding arms 13 (see Figures 10 and 11 ) formed teeth 35 in the sense of a pivoting device.
  • the holding arms 13 are pivotally mounted in the bearing bores 15 of the base body 11 and the teeth 35 of the holding arms 13 mesh with the associated toothed strips 31 of the toothed sleeve 25.
  • the holding arms 13 perform a pivoting movement. This is explained in connection with the Figure 12 explained in more detail.
  • the actuating rod 37 has at its Figure 7 upper end of the already mentioned in connection with the Figures 1 and 2 explained rotary handle 9.
  • a total of two sets of four teeth 39 are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction.
  • Each pair of teeth 39 arranged opposite one another are part of a bayonet catch. Because in the embodiment shown, four sets of two teeth are arranged one behind the other in the axial direction, these teeth 39 are parts of four bayonet catches arranged one behind the other.
  • a recess 41 is provided on the rod 37 adjacent to the teeth 39.
  • a spiral or compression spring 43 which is only indicated, is supported on this shoulder.
  • This compression spring 43 is supported at its other end on the bottom of the recess 27 of the toothed sleeve 25 (see Fig.5 ).
  • the diameter of the lower part of the rod 37 is matched to the bore 29 of the toothed sleeve 25 so that the rod 37 is guided in the bore 29.
  • the rod 37 projects downwards beyond the toothed sleeve 25. However, this does not have to be the case.
  • the locking sleeve 45 is made of For manufacturing reasons, it is composed of two identical half shells.
  • an axially extending (axial) groove 47 is formed inside the locking sleeve 45.
  • several projections 49 are formed.
  • the axial groove 47 is dimensioned so that the teeth 39 of the rod 37 can be moved in the axial direction through the axial groove 47.
  • the teeth 39 rotate into the projections 49 of the locking sleeve, so that the bayonet connection is activated.
  • holding arms 13 Two different embodiments of holding arms 13 are shown.
  • the holding arms 13 are twisted. This torsion makes the holding arms 13 slightly softer and more elastic, so that the holding arms 13 adapt better to a drain 3.
  • Rubberized adhesive pieces can be vulcanized onto the lower ends of the holding arms 13 or 11 or formed using a two-component injection molding process. These rubberized adhesive pieces improve the frictional connection between the retaining device and the drain 3.
  • the collecting basket 7 has several locking hooks 51 (of which Figure 12 only one is visible) is connected to the flange 17 of the base body 11.
  • the collecting basket 7 has an opening in the middle through which the rod 37 can be inserted.
  • the teeth 39 of the rod 37 and the projections 49 of the locking sleeve 45 are indicated by broken lines.
  • the rod 37 can not only be locked in the position shown with the help of the bayonet connection. It is also possible to move the rod 37 a little further upwards positioned to connect with the locking sleeve 45. In this position, not shown, there is a certain distance between the underside of the rotary handle 9 and the collecting basket 7.
  • the compression spring 43 is on the one hand on the shoulder 41 (see Figure 7 ) of the rod 37 and on the other hand rests on the bottom of the recess 27 in the toothed sleeve 25. This means that depending on the axial position of the rod 37, the compression spring 43 exerts a greater or lesser axial force on the toothed sleeve 25. Due to this spring force, the toothed sleeve 25 moves in the Figure 12 downwards and thereby causes a pivoting movement of the holding arms 13. The meshing of the teeth 35 of the holding arms 13 with the toothed strips or the toothing of the toothed sleeve 25 is in the Figure 12 also easy to recognize.
  • the rod 37 extends through the hole 29 of the toothed sleeve 25 and also through the central hole 21 at the lower end of the base body 11.
  • a screw and a washer are screwed into the rod 37 so that the rod 37 cannot be pulled upwards out of the base body. This ensures that it cannot be lost.
  • a split pin could also serve as a loss protection for the rod 37. It is also possible to design the rod 37 without a loss protection.
  • the rod 37 it is also not absolutely necessary for the rod 37 to extend downwards through the base body 11. It would also be conceivable to determine the length of the rod 37 so that it is only guided in the toothed sleeve 25. In addition, there are also locking or clamping rings that can be pushed onto the rod 37 in order to prevent it from being lost.
