Description

The invention relates to a modular lamp unit according to the preamble of claim 1.

A modular luminaire unit is to be understood here in particular that the structural design of the lamp unit is based on a modular design, which makes it possible at low production costs, in a liberal manner different luminaire designs in terms of their essential dimensions, but above all to realize their external appearance, such as will be explained in detail later.

In interior lighting, it is known by a variety of applications to equip the luminaire housing with two load-bearing, mirror-image mutually arranged side parts, which are often formed as a relatively expensive extruded profile part. Only as an example of this reference should be made to the described in EP-B1-0 539 621 modular luminaire system for interiors. In these interior lights designed in this way, the two side parts are then connected to one another either by rigid end walls or by spacer elements. Between the two side parts, the light sources and the latter surrounding side reflectors are arranged as light-directing means. As the cited known example in particular also shows, this known housing construction allows between these side panels to arrange a plurality of different lighting modules and with a housing to realize a variety of different lighting fixtures in their lighting properties.

What is deliberately sought in such lighting systems, namely a defined by all photometric diversity fixed external appearance of the lamp or a light strip, but may be in other applications of disadvantage. Luminaires with the described housing construction are standard products.

Despite the wide range of such luminaires with regard to lighting technology, with which the lighting designer is also able to solve difficult and demanding lighting tasks, the market also demands individual design solutions from the luminaire manufacturer. For regardless of an assumed as a matter of course flawless lighting solution lighting task is often also desired an individual form of lighting. In addition to optimized lighting technology, an independent and striking appearance of the luminaire is required, which differs significantly from standard products. It is immediately apparent that such, manufactured according to customer requirements with special tools lights are expensive, since they are often required only in small quantities.

In this context, from US-A-5 400 233 a modular lamp unit is known, the housing consists of a plurality of elongated, substantially U-shaped profiles whose juxtaposed longitudinal sides are connected by spark-welding or spring terminals with each other. Because you have these U-shaped profiles with quite different cross sections In this way, different luminaire shapes can be made variable in their appearance. However, the modular luminaire structure underlying this known solution is exhausted in addition to a trough-shaped central housing channel, which receives the mechanical and electrical components of the lamp, provided laterally thereto profiles with purely decorative character, which therefore at least of the shape in any arbitrary cross-section can have.

From the generic US Pat. No. 5,226,724, a luminaire design is also known whose appearance can be made variable in a certain way by decorative elements. In this respect, this is a design for a system lamp, that in addition to a supply module lamp units in different lengths and connectors are offered. All of these modules can be plugged together with an identical cross-sectional shape to each other, so that can form band-shaped lighting solutions that can be easily adapted in a wall assembly to different spatial geometries. Furthermore, the light bands formed in a certain way by individually to design that the room facing side of this profile along the longitudinal edges outwardly flared edges, which thus have grooves for a strip-shaped aperture. This panel then largely covers the end edges of the juxtaposed lighting modules and can also be designed decoratively in their surface.
A fundamental solution to the problem, with a housing design formed from a few simple parts in the simplest possible way lights with quite different To be able to design manifestations, the above-appreciated known solutions do not yet.

The present invention has for its object to provide for a modular lamp unit of the type mentioned another embodiment, which - avoiding the drawback discussed - allows structurally simple and reasonable production costs varied housing forms with a few, easily adaptable to such a variant basic elements realize.

In a modular lamp unit of the type mentioned, this object is achieved by the features described in the characterizing part of claim 1.

The solution is based on the fact that a supporting housing scaffold is used in the form of a system frame, which is relatively easy adaptable to longitudinal profiles and spacers of variable height and length to a housing geometry caused by photometric requirements. This system frame is equipped so that it is easy to cover by changing side panels. Whose any cross-sectional shape is limited only by the requirement that the longitudinal profiles of the system frame in cross-section provide sufficient free space to accommodate where appropriate, the electrical equipment of the lamp can. Furthermore, the side panels are to be designed so that they are preferably tool-less, automatically latching to be attached to the system frame. This design concept for a modular lamp unit is therefore particularly suitable for the cost-effective production of special forms of interior lighting, the Above all, they are distinguished by an individual luminaire shape, while standard solutions are preferably used with regard to the lighting technology of the luminaires.

If standard solutions for the lighting technology of the lamp unit are addressed, reference is made to the fact that, for example, when using fluorescent lamps as lamps, the commercially available different lamp lengths require correspondingly graduated housing lengths. Different housing lengths can be achieved with low production costs and low storage costs by custom cutting the longitudinal profiles of the housing. Height and width dimensions of the system frame adapted for a defined application depend, for example, on the diameter of the fluorescent lamp to be used and the space required by the light-directing means due to its geometry. Different housing heights can be realized according to one of the developments of the invention with relatively little effort, characterized in that the longitudinal profiles of the system frame are made as rolled from a strip material elements, the width of the strip material is selected accordingly and for the roll deformation in all variants one and the same, but appropriately adjustable trained tool is used. Finally, different housing widths can be achieved by appropriate choice of the length of the spacer elements. Individual elements of the system frame, ie spacers and longitudinal profiles, can be individually combined with each other and thus implement embodiments of the system frame that can accommodate the respective application designed lighting technology. This is the functional part of a lighting unit firmly, which can now be adapted by freely designed side panels in their external appearance easily the design request of a customer.

In Figure 1 to 3, a system frame 1 of a lamp housing in a section transverse to the longitudinal axis of the lamp, in a side view and in a view from above. The system frame 1 has two identically formed longitudinal profiles 11, which are arranged at a distance and in mirror image symmetry with respect to one another and which are provided on their narrow sides by spacer elements. formed here as an end-side spacing angle 12, are interconnected. The longitudinal profiles 11 are formed from a preferably band-shaped flat material, which is deformed into a U-shaped cross-sectional profile, the leg ends 111 are bent to the sides. The outer ends of the sides of the spacing angles 12 are bent inwards and thus form bearing surfaces 121 on the longitudinal profiles 11 of the system frame 1. In the region of these contact surfaces 121 of the distance angle 12, the longitudinal profiles 11 and these distance angles 12 are firmly connected. In the exemplary embodiment, screw connections are provided for this, corresponding bores for these connections are denoted by 13 in FIG. Instead of screw connections, of course, other types of connection, such as rivets or spot welding, can be used.

Also at the upper edge of the frontal distance angle 12 is bent inwards. The thus formed, extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the lamp top 122 of the spacer 12 is defined in the region of its end edge on both sides of projections 123 each on a leg of the longitudinal profiles 11. Thus, the frontal connection of the system frame 1 is additionally stiffened. Furthermore, in this top 122 of the distance angle 12, mirror image symmetrical to the central axis, a pair of rectangular recesses provided in the bottom of fasteners 21 a lamp holder 2 are resilient and automatically latching latched. Finally, in the top 122 of the distance angle 12, also arranged symmetrically to the central axis of the system frame 1 symmetrically, a pair of oblong holes provided. As will be shown, these holes form suspension lugs 124 for ceiling mounting the lamp housing.

In Figure 1 is further shown how electrical equipment of the lamp, in this example an electronic ballast 3, are arranged on one of the two longitudinal profiles 11 of the system frame 1 on the outside thereof. An opening 112, recognizable in FIG. 2, in the longitudinal profiles 11 then serves to carry out line connections from the ballast 3 to the lamp holders 2 arranged on the front side.

As FIG. 4 shows in particular, the system frame 1 described above, formed from the longitudinal profiles 11 and the spacing angles 12 arranged at the end, forms the supporting framework of the luminaire housing. In the example shown here, a luminaire grid 4 having a pair of main reflectors 41 extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the system frame 1 and crossbars 42 arranged transversely to this longitudinal axis is inserted into this system frame 1. The structure of this lighting grid 4 and its connection to the system frame 1 is carried out in a conventional manner, so that this is a detailed description is not required.

Rather, it is important to demonstrate with this example, how can be realized with a few variants of the elements of the system frame 1 lights with different lighting technology. The basic shape of the U-shaped longitudinal profiles 11 can at a koll forming of a strip material of corresponding width with a single, with respect a cross-sectional height of these longitudinal profiles 11 adjustable rolling tool are made. Thus, the condition is created to adjust the height h of this system frame 1 without great expense of tools each to a predetermined by the geometry of the lighting technology of the lamp height, It is immediately apparent that readily different length dimensions of the lamp housing by appropriately cutting the longitudinal profiles 11 of the system frame 1 are to be realized. Likewise, by appropriate design of variants of the distance angle 12 by height and in particular its width b narrow, for example, with only one lamp to be equipped lights, but possibly also very wide lamp shapes are made with substantially the same tool sets.

Mit diesem Spalt als Toleranzabstand sind Fertigungstoleranzen auszugleichen.FIG. 5 shows a partial view of a longitudinal section of the luminaire arrangement shown in cross-section in FIG. In this illustration, not only the position of the cross-sectionally V-shaped cross blades 42 of the light grid 4 is illustrated, but also shown how inventively designed lighting units can be assembled end face to form a band-shaped arrangement. At its lower edge outwardly flanged end plates 43 of the light grid 4 are formed at this lower edge so that they leave a narrow gap of the width a in directly juxtaposed faces of the lamp units. With this gap as a tolerance distance manufacturing tolerances are compensated.

Furthermore, Figure 5 shows an example in the above-mentioned suspension lugs 124 used, via fastening screws fixed sleeves 5, which form the end pieces, for example, a pendulum suspension of the lamp unit, via which optionally electrical supply lines to the lamp unit can be fed.

8.In the figures 6 to 8 examples of a further feature are shown, which allows the supporting frame for a lamp housing forming system frame 1. The cross-sectional shape of the longitudinal profiles 11 of the system frame 1 with their bent leg ends 111 makes it possible to define different side panels 6, 7 and 8 on the longitudinal profiles 11 of the system frame 1 by tool-free snap connections. The basic shape of the cross section of the longitudinal profiles 11 allows a variety of configurations of these snap connections and thus finally also very variable cross-sectional shapes for these side panels 6,7 and 8.

These side panels 6, 7 or 8 can be produced both in the form of tape-coated sheet-metal parts - for example in FIG. 6 and as extruded profiles in plastic or light metal, for which the illustrations in FIGS. 6 to 8 offer examples. It is always essential that in the assembled state the longitudinal profiles 11 of the system frame 1 facing inner edge surfaces 61,71 or 81 of the side panels 6,7 and 8 are formed so that they attach to the longitudinal edges 111 of the side profiles 11 of the system frame. 1 elastically deforming under positive engagement with these releasably lock.

In particular, this possibility of setting the system frame 1 different side panels 6,7 and 8, makes it possible, with a reduced number of light-optically optimized lighting units cost-effective to realize a variety of lighting units with quite different appearance with a high degree of freedom for the design of form.

Finally, FIG. 9 shows a further embodiment of the modular luminaire unit in cross section. That in this embodiment, in turn, a different type of side panels 9 is shown, is of subordinate importance for this embodiment. What is to be demonstrated in this embodiment is, above all, the fact that the system frame 1 is also to be varied with essentially the same basic elements, such as the longitudinal profiles 11 and spacing elements or spacing angles 12. In the embodiments described above with reference to FIGS. 1 to 8, the longitudinal profiles 11 and the spacing angles 12 are connected to one another in such a way that the U-shaped cross-sectional profile of the longitudinal profiles 11 faces outwards, facing the side coverings 6, 7 and 8, respectively. As described, this embodiment makes it possible to arrange mechanical, in particular also electrical, components of the luminaire, such as, for example, the electronic ballasts 3 on the outer sides of the longitudinal profiles 11 and thus the space between the system frame 1 and the side linings 6, 7 or 8 for the accommodation to use these lighting components.

In contrast, the embodiment of Figure 9 shows that the longitudinal profiles 11 and the spacing angles 12 of the system frame 1 can also be composed so that the U-shaped Cross-sectional profile of the longitudinal profiles 11 in the direction of the inside of the system frame 1 is open. Also in this case, the corresponding lighting components, such as the electronic ballast 3, arranged in this cross-sectional profile of the longitudinal profiles 11 and then extend into the free space between the side reflectors 41 of the lamp unit and the corresponding inner surface of the system frame. 1

In diesem Falle liegen alle funktionalen Bauteile bzw. With respect to the main dimensions of the lamp unit, in particular its width, this mirror-image arrangement of the longitudinal profiles is not essential compared to the other embodiments, as the illustration of Figure 9 shows, however, this embodiment of the system frame 1 in connection with the arrangement of mechanical or electrical components of the lamp unit, in particular an electronic ballast 3, a further consequence. In this case, all functional components or elements of the lamp unit are within the system frame 1 and are thus protected. Without special measures for the shipment of lighting units would have to be made, this means that a lamp unit, apart from separately supplied side panels 6,7,8 and 9, as a ready-mounted at the manufacturer lamp unit can be delivered. The customer benefit is that the installation on site only requires the installation of the already finished wired lighting unit and the attachment of the side panels. Only in the case of a band arrangement according to the embodiment of Figure 5 would still be a through wiring of lamp unit to perform lighting unit.

The described embodiments show that the described design concept for a modular luminaire unit can be adapted in many ways to individual applications flexibly without high tool investment. High production costs or large stocks of a variety of individual lighting components were avoided. The described in the embodiments solution thus gives the lighting manufacturer the ability to be able to adjust quickly and without high development effort on a customized a customized luminaire shape even with lights with proven and high quality lighting technology.
