Definitions
- the invention relates to a roller latch with a roller shutter shaft for a lock with push-button or rotary button actuation, which can be pushed back through a forend opening into a lock housing against spring force or retractable through a latch lever and can be pushed out up to a stop, the roller latch shaft with the latch lever providing a detachable connection having.
- Roller shutters are not only used for swinging doors, but also for the usual left or right doors (hinges left or right), for example if these doors are opened very often and the opening is to be done by simply pushing the door open.
- Roller latches both allow the door to be closed, as is also the case with wedge latches - but they also enable the door to be pressed open without actuation of the lever handle, because the roller latch also retreats in the opposite direction by striking a striker or a striking plate edge. It is therefore not necessary to design roller latch locks to be convertible, as is quite common with wedge latch locks.
- the invention aims to design a roller trap so that it can be removed from the lock and optionally also adjusted in the lock.
- a roller trap of the type described in the introduction in that the roller case shaft carries an optionally adjustable stop which, in its functional position, seen in the direction of movement of the roller case shaft, projects beyond the outline of the faceplate opening for the case and in that an actuating element for inserting or pivoting the stop is provided on the face of the roller trap for removal and, if necessary, for exchange for a wedge trap.
- the roller latch can be decoupled from the lock mechanism by construction elements in the roller latch itself and replaced by a wedge latch - and vice versa.
- One and the same door lock can therefore be equipped with both a roller latch and a wedge latch. Warehousing can be improved in this way and the use can be adapted directly to the intended use on site.
- the stop on the roller trap can be adjusted to adjust the trap exclusion. Because the trap exclusion can be relatively large in the case of wedge latches, but in the case of roller latches the engagement in the striker must be smaller than the radius of the latch roller, the adjustability is expedient.
- the stop can be made to disappear on the drop shaft of the roller latch by pushing it in or swiveling in and the roller latch can be pulled out through the congruent faceplate opening after releasing the kinematic connection with the latch lever of the lock mechanism.
- An expedient embodiment provides that the stop can be disengaged from a positive-locking connection by pressing in the actuating element against spring force and then rotated out of the functional position into the contour area of the faceplate opening for the roller trap.
- the stop is non-rotatably longitudinal and has a nut thread, and is axially displaceable on a non-displaceable threaded spindle mounted in the drop shaft by rotating the actuating element for the purpose of adjusting the position of the latch connection.
- the roller latch exclusion can thus be adapted to the actual dimensions of a door in the door frame and the position and the air or the door gap to the striker or striking plate.
- the roller latch engagement can be set to a dimension that is smaller than the roller diameter. This allows the door to be easily closed and pushed open again.
- the construction is also suitable for door locks if they are to be used with rigid knobs or door handles. It is advantageous if a recess is provided along a guideway on the drop shaft for the rotationally fixed but axially adjustable guidance of the stop and if the stop can be positioned in front of the recess by means of the threaded spindle and can be displaced in parallel with the threaded spindle into the recess. In this way, even with the adjustable roller trap, the stop can be made ineffective for the purpose of removing the roller trap.
- the actuator on the front of the roller trap is rotatable and laterally displaceable. The adjustment is carried out in the above-described designs in the roller latch itself. As a result, no special designs of the lock are required, but rather locks such as mortise locks for doors can be used, such as exist for convertible wedge latches.
- FIG. 1 shows a section through part of a mortise lock with an inserted roller latch
- FIG. 2 shows the view according to FIG. 1 from the faceplate
- FIG. 3 shows the roller latch separately from the mortise lock
- FIG. 4 shows the mortise lock without a latch
- FIG. 5 shows a section Similar to Fig. 1, but with a variant of the stop
- Fig. 6 is a view of the roller latch head from above.
- the usual lock mechanism comprises a handle with a nut (not shown) and a latch lever 4 which engages with a pin 5 in an elongated hole 6 of a drop shaft 7 and retracts a roller latch 8 against spring force.
- the pin 5 By pushing the pin 5 back against spring force, the pin 5 can be brought out of engagement with the drop shaft 7. This pushing back takes place through an opening in the lock housing before the lock 1 is installed in a door. As a result, the roller latch 8 can be uncoupled from the lock mechanism.
- the roller trap 8 also has an adjustable stop 9, which is seated with a nut thread on an axially immovable threaded spindle 10 and is adjustable in the axial direction when the threaded spindle 10 rotates via the actuating element 11 designed as a screw head.
- Fig. 1 shows the correspondingly adjustable stop 9, which rests on the edge of the passage opening of the roller trap 8 through the faceplate and determines the extent of the trap exclusion.
- the trap exclusion is matched to the gap width (air) between the door and the floor, so that the depth of engagement of the roller trap is smaller than the radius of the trap roller. Then the door can be pushed shut and pushed open.
- the stop 9 on the threaded spindle 10 is brought into the stop position 9 ', then the stop 9' is opposite a recess 12 on the case shaft side.
- the entire threaded spindle 10 can then be moved in parallel, as shown in FIG. 3. This parallel displacement is made possible by the fact that the threaded spindle 10 is mounted in elongated holes 13, 14 and that the recess 12 offers a space for receiving the stop 9 '.
- the roller latch 8 In the "retracted" position of the stop 9 ′ shown in FIG. 3, the roller latch 8 can be pulled out of the lock housing 2 after uncoupling from the lock mechanism by releasing the connection with the latch lever 4 (depressing the spring-loaded pin 5 and releasing it from the slot 6) be taken.
- FIG. 5 An alternative embodiment is shown in FIG. 5, in which a stop 15 with respect to the roller trap 8 'with the drop shaft 7' is not axially adjustable, but is nevertheless pivotable from a stop position.
- the stop 15 is provided on an axis of rotation 16 which can be axially displaced and rotated by means of the actuating element 17 against the force of the spring 18.
- a positive connection 19 disengages and engages again after rotation by 180 °.
- the stop 15' does not protrude beyond the outer contour of the roll shaft, so that the roll trap 8 'can be removed.
- a wedge trap can be used instead of the roller trap 8 '.
- a corresponding stop on the latch is not required for the wedge latch. It suffices the stop for the angle of rotation of the latch lever 4, which enables maximum latch exclusion. This maximum trap exclusion only has to be reduced or, if necessary, reduced and adjusted in the case of the roller trap 8, 8 '.
- FIG. 6 shows the roller trap 8 according to FIG. 3 in a top view.
- the roller latch 8 (analogously also the roller latch 8 '), in contrast to a conventional wedge latch, enables a door to be pressed shut as well as a door to be pressed open. This function differs from the function of a wedge latch, when a door is closed when it is installed, but is only opened again by pressing the lever handle can be.
- One and the same lock 1 can perform different functions by exchanging the latches.

Abstract
