Definitions
- the present invention relates to the general technical field devices for applying hot-melt products, such as depilatory wax, ointments, creams, or even glues or varnishes, in which the product stored in solid form at room temperature, must be subjected to a heat flux to change state and go to an at least pasty state in order to can be applied.
- hot-melt products such as depilatory wax, ointments, creams, or even glues or varnishes
- the present invention relates more particularly to an applicator of hot-melt products, in particular depilatory wax, comprising a housing associated with a gripping means, a reservoir of the product to be applied in relation thermal with heating means, and at least one applicator roller disposed in the vicinity of an outlet opening of the tank.
- the present invention also advantageously relates to extraction pliers for an applicator roller mounted on an applicator according to the invention, as well as a set of product applications hot melt including the hot melt applicator itself associated with the extraction clamp.
- hot melt products should be understood within the meaning of the invention, all types of products liable to take room temperature, a solid, even semi-solid or pasty physical state, but susceptible to heat change from physical state to tender towards a liquid state capable of allowing its spreading in the form of thin layers.
- the invention more particularly aims to protect an applicator of depilatory wax, but it is quite obvious that the product applicator hot melt according to the invention is in no way limited to this use specific, and that hot-melt products such as waxes or glues can be applied using the applicator according to the invention.
- the depilation technique by applying a depilatory wax consists in melting a certain amount of wax and then apply a melt of this wax on the area to be depilated. After hardening, i.e. after cooling, the cold wax film is removed using any suitable means, the hairs then being extracted from the skin due to their attachment to the melted wax.
- ready-to-use hot wax dispensers consisting of a wax tank heated by any means, for example by an appliance analogous to a bottle warmer.
- These devices are supplemented by a simple wax distributor roller independent of the reservoir, which the user introduces in the wax mass in order to coat it with a wax mass.
- These devices appear to no longer correspond to the needs of users of depilatory wax due in particular to numerous disadvantages of use. So the application temperature of the wax is practically uncontrollable as well than the application thickness of the wax layer.
- These devices are also considered bulky and give rise to a hair removal operation long, tedious, often messy and also involves over-consumption of wax.
- a applicator assembly comprising a housing provided with heating housings in which are housed manual applicators intended to be implemented by the wearer.
- Applicators have an internal wax reservoir depilatory, and a wax applicator roller.
- Such an applicator constitutes well obviously a noticeable improvement over previous devices but it does not, however, completely solve the essential problem of mastery of the temperature of application of the wax. Indeed, the heating of the wax does not intervene only discontinuously over time when the applicator is in the heated accommodation. It turns out that after a while of application the temperature of the wax decreases rapidly and is therefore more at a favorable temperature level.
- the object of the present invention therefore aims to remedy to the disadvantages mentioned above, and to provide an applicator for hot-melt products whose design and production are particularly simplified, while allowing control and optimal control of the application temperature of the hot-melt product.
- Another object of the invention aims to provide a product applicator hot-melt whose individual parts are particularly simple to make and to go up.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a product applicator easy to use hot-melt when loading products and when dismantling and cleaning it.
- the hot melt applicator shown in Figure 1 is more particularly intended for the application of depilatory wax and includes a housing 1 made for example of a plastic material, said housing having a shape general elongated longitudinal axis x-x '.
- the housing 1 is of cross section any and for example substantially circular, and constitutes advantageous a gripping means capable of allowing the user to enter it manually.
- a tank 2 made in a material which is a good conductor of heat, and intended to ensure the storage of the hot melt product to be applied.
- the reservoir 2 is made in aluminum, extends substantially over the entire central part of the housing 1 according to the axis x-x 'and has a bottom 2a and an upper opening 2b.
- the reservoir 2 is provided in its central zone with a fin 3 of heat diffusion extending into the internal volume of said tank from from the bottom 2a.
- the tank 2 is in thermal relation with heating means 4, consisting for example of an electrical resistance or a PTC surrounding at at least partially the tank 2 or, as shown in Figure 1, mounted integral with a wall of said tank 2.
- the heating means 4 is conventionally associated with thermal regulation means such as a thermostat 5 and a fuse 6.
- the applicator according to the invention is provided with an indicator 7 power supply control visible from the outside via a light provided through the wall of the housing 1.
- the whole system electrical including electrical connections and locking means of the power cord (not shown in the figures) is preferably mounted on a support flange 8 housed in the lower part of the housing 1, under the bottom 2a of the tank 2.
- the upper zone of the housing 1 is advantageously constituted by a head 11 for example screwed onto the upper part of the tank 2 and coming overcome said upper part as well as the upper opening 2b of the reservoir 2.
- the upper end 11b of the head 11 thus delimits an envelope geometric constituting the actual outlet of the wax.
- the hot-melt product applicator according to the invention also includes an applicator roller 15 with a longitudinal axis of revolution y-y ' arranged in the outlet opening of the tank 2 so as to allow the flow of liquid wax on its periphery, and between the latter and the face internal of the head 11.
- the applicator roller 15 consists of a core 16 produced in a material which is a good heat conductor, for example aluminum.
- the core 16 is advantageously cylindrical and of circular section and is provided on each of its two opposite ends constituting the lateral faces of the roller 15, of a pin 17. These are produced, for example by free-cutting in the mass of the core 16, the pins 17 extending along the axis y-y ', and forming the axes of rotation of the roller 15.
- the core 16 is surrounded, preferably over its entire surface peripheral by a coating of plastic material, advantageously overmolded, forming the application layer 18 of the wax.
- the applicator roller 15 is mounted on the head 11 and supported on the latter via the pins 17 which form the means of connection with the body of the applicator.
- the roller 15 is removably mounted on the head 11 via slots 20 open at their upper end and arranged in the thickness of each opposite faces of the head 11.
- the slots 20 are open at their ends upper and thus allow the passage of the pins 17 which then come rest in the bottom of each of the slots 20. ( Figure 2a).
- the means of blocking are advantageously constituted by a clip 21, of general shape U-shaped, fixedly mounted along and against each slot 20, the open part of the U being in correspondence with the opening of each slot 20.
- Each clip 21 has two lateral arms extending substantially along the same direction that the slots 20, said arms forming between them a narrowing 22 in the upper part of the clip 21, so as to block each pin 17 in the bottom of each slot 20.
- the clip 21 is made of a material metal with sufficient elasticity to allow the side arms to elastically deform when inserting or removing pins 17 in and out of the slots 20, and through the narrowing 22.
- the applicator according to the invention advantageously comprises a head cover 12 intended to be applied to the head 11 and to extend the housing 1.
- a removable cover cap 13 is attached over the entire upper part of the applicator.
- the placement or extraction of the applicator roller 15 may well obviously be obtained by direct gripping of the roller 15, but this operation is advantageously carried out using an extraction pliers.
- Figures 3 and 4 show a preferred embodiment of the invention according to which the applicator roller 15 is movably mounted on the housing 1 and relatively to the latter between a working position and application of a wax film in which it extends into the outlet orifice 11b of the reservoir 2 and a release position of said orifice to allow filling of the reservoir 2.
- the applicator roller 15 is integral with a slide 50 mounted movable by longitudinal sliding along the axis x-x 'on the housing 1 and preferably on the head 11 forming the upper part of the housing 1.
- the slide 50 comprises two legs 51 extending substantially parallel, connected rigidly in the opposing position by a spacer 52.
- Each leg is provided at its upper end with axially aligned holes 53 for the support of the pins 17 of the applicator roller 15.
- the slide 50 is intended to be inserted into the body of the housing 1, the legs 51 sliding against the faces internal parts of head 11 ( Figure 4).
- Each leg 51 comprises in the central part a locking tab 58 cut in the thickness of the jamb 51.
- the tabs 58 terminate at their upper end with a flange 54 folded in direction of the axis x-x ', each flange 54 being intended to come to engage, when the slide 50 is in the low working position, as mounted in FIG. 4, a pan inclined 55 formed at the bottom of the head 11 to lock in position the slide 50.
- the locking tabs 58 have sufficient elasticity to deform in the direction of the axis x-x 'and allow, by gripping the roller applicator 15, the erasure of the edges 54 out of the inclined faces 55 and the sliding along arrow F1 of the slide out of the outlet orifice 11b to its high release position.
- the slide 50 is provided, towards the lower end of each leg 51, with external stops 56 able to engage the inclined faces 55 when the slide 50 is in position high clearance to oppose its total extraction. Such an arrangement does not not reduce the transmission of thermal energy to the core 16, because in position working, the pins 17 are supported by columns 57 formed in the head 11.
- the applicator of hot-melt products according to the invention works as follows.
- the user first extracts the roll applicator 15 in order to clear access to the reservoir 2 to ensure its loading in depilatory wax through the upper opening 2b. To do this extraction can take place manually or using pliers.
- the user can slide the pins 17 into the slots 20 and extract the applicator roller 15 by developing a force greater than the elasticity of the lateral arms of the clip 21.
- the applicator roller 15 is replaced using the same operations than those described above, by transmitting to the trunnions 17 the force necessary to spread at the level of the narrowing 22 the lateral arms of the clip 21.
- the wax After connecting the applicator to a power source electric the wax gradually becomes liquid and the user can then put in contact with the applicator roller 15 on the surface to be depilated in order to allow the flow of the wax onto the application layer 18.
- the user can again, for cleaning purposes for example, extract the applicator roller 15 using pliers according to the steps described previously.

Description
The present invention relates to the general technical field devices for applying hot-melt products, such as depilatory wax, ointments, creams, or even glues or varnishes, in which the product stored in solid form at room temperature, must be subjected to a heat flux to change state and go to an at least pasty state in order to can be applied.
The present invention relates more particularly to an applicator of hot-melt products, in particular depilatory wax, comprising a housing associated with a gripping means, a reservoir of the product to be applied in relation thermal with heating means, and at least one applicator roller disposed in the vicinity of an outlet opening of the tank.
The present invention also advantageously relates to extraction pliers for an applicator roller mounted on an applicator according to the invention, as well as a set of product applications hot melt including the hot melt applicator itself associated with the extraction clamp. By hot melt products should be understood within the meaning of the invention, all types of products liable to take room temperature, a solid, even semi-solid or pasty physical state, but susceptible to heat change from physical state to tender towards a liquid state capable of allowing its spreading in the form of thin layers. The invention more particularly aims to protect an applicator of depilatory wax, but it is quite obvious that the product applicator hot melt according to the invention is in no way limited to this use specific, and that hot-melt products such as waxes or glues can be applied using the applicator according to the invention.
Whatever type of depilatory wax applicator is considered, the depilation technique by applying a depilatory wax, consists in melting a certain amount of wax and then apply a melt of this wax on the area to be depilated. After hardening, i.e. after cooling, the cold wax film is removed using any suitable means, the hairs then being extracted from the skin due to their attachment to the melted wax.
To implement this widely used technique, we already know ready-to-use hot wax dispensers, consisting of a wax tank heated by any means, for example by an appliance analogous to a bottle warmer. These devices are supplemented by a simple wax distributor roller independent of the reservoir, which the user introduces in the wax mass in order to coat it with a wax mass. These devices, of a very hardy, appear to no longer correspond to the needs of users of depilatory wax due in particular to numerous disadvantages of use. So the application temperature of the wax is practically uncontrollable as well than the application thickness of the wax layer. These devices are also considered bulky and give rise to a hair removal operation long, tedious, often messy and also involves over-consumption of wax.
To improve the previous devices mentioned above, it has already been proposed, in particular in patent application FR-A-2520601, a applicator assembly comprising a housing provided with heating housings in which are housed manual applicators intended to be implemented by the wearer. Applicators have an internal wax reservoir depilatory, and a wax applicator roller. Such an applicator constitutes well obviously a noticeable improvement over previous devices but it does not, however, completely solve the essential problem of mastery of the temperature of application of the wax. Indeed, the heating of the wax does not intervene only discontinuously over time when the applicator is in the heated accommodation. It turns out that after a while of application the temperature of the wax decreases rapidly and is therefore more at a favorable temperature level. This causes increasing difficulty in the application, and in particular the appearance of a wax spinning phenomenon negatively influencing the quality of hair removal. This drawback is accompanied an overconsumption of wax and a heterogeneous application which definitive leads to an unsatisfactory depilatory result. To partially overcome this problem the user is then obliged to frequently replace the applicator in heated accommodation, which thoughtlessly lengthens time dedicated to the hair removal operation, without guaranteeing better control of the temperature of the wax nor, moreover, a better final result.
It has thus been proposed to partially remedy the defect in the assemblies applicators separating the wax heating tank from the application unit, carry out, for example as described in patent application EP-A-0368698 a manual applicator comprising in one housing a reservoir of wax, a heating element and an applicator roller. To improve ease application of the wax, but also to try to control the temperature of the wax, it is planned to provide the applicator roller with a means of autonomous heating. Such a device ensures a certain control of the wax application temperature and somehow reduces the risk appearance of the previously mentioned spinning phenomenon. The presence of a heating medium directly in the applicator roller may be the cause risk of overheating the wax or burning the wearer's skin. In besides such a device turns out to be a delicate realization insofar as it requires the mounting of two separate heating means in a housing. In the reliability of such a device is definitely not guaranteed and its cost is high.
We also know from document EP-0380391, a fluid distributor such as a cream or ointment, applied to the skin without prior heating. The dispenser according to this document includes a removable applicator roller on the housing. This document does not describe a hot melt applicator.
The object of the present invention therefore aims to remedy to the disadvantages mentioned above, and to provide an applicator for hot-melt products whose design and production are particularly simplified, while allowing control and optimal control of the application temperature of the hot-melt product.
Another object of the invention aims to provide a product applicator hot-melt whose individual parts are particularly simple to make and to go up.
Another object of the invention is to provide a product applicator easy to use hot-melt when loading products and when dismantling and cleaning it.

l'axe y-y', et formant les axes de rotation du rouleau 15.The hot-melt product applicator according to the invention
also includes an
The
(Figure 2a).The
The applicator according to the invention advantageously comprises a
The placement or extraction of the
tête 11.Figures 3 and 4 show a preferred embodiment of the invention
according to which the
The applicator of hot-melt products according to the invention works as follows.
rétrécissement 22 les bras latéraux de l'agrafe 21.The user first extracts the
After connecting the applicator to a power source
electric the wax gradually becomes liquid and the user can then put
in contact with the
