The invention relates to a disengageable clamp for coupling a load to a carrier-tractor cable of an overhead cable transport installation, comprising a clamp body extending transversely on one side of the cable, in position coupled to the latter, and carrying an articulation of a load support hanger, a cable clamping jaw, constituted by a fixed jaw carried by the clamp body and a movable jaw articulated on the fixed jaw, a lever control, which is integral with the movable jaw and extends the latter by extending and struggling in a first plane containing the clamp body, to control the opening and closing of the jaw, and a pair of compression springs to rod placed symmetrically on either side of said first plane and urging the control lever in the closed position of the jaw.
A known clamp of the kind mentioned (EP-A-0 056 919) is particularly simple and can remain in line overnight without risk of blockage by ice or frost. This clamp has springs interposed between the ends, on the side opposite the fixed jaw, of the clamp body and of the control lever. This arrangement implies a robust and bulky structure of the clamp, adapted to the large forces to be transmitted.
The present invention aims to allow the realization of a disengageable clamp of simple and compact structure.
The clamp according to the invention is characterized in that one of the ends of the springs is anchored in the vicinity of the end of the control lever, opposite the movable jaw, that the other end of the springs is anchored near the fixed jaw, that the two springs extend in a second plane, which is perpendicular to the first plane and is inclined relative to the clamp body and that the distance in said second plane between the points the ends of the springs on the side of the fixed jaw is greater than that on the side of the control lever.
The anchor point of the springs is transferred near the fixed jaw and the articulation of the hanger and it is easy to see that the forces are concentrated in this zone which is arranged accordingly.
According to a development of the invention, the two springs are anchored on the side of the jaw fixed to a cross member, which carries the support and guide rollers of the clamp. The clamp is uncoupled from the cable at the entrance to a station and the rollers roll on a transfer rail. The rollers and the anchor points of the springs are in the vicinity of the ends of the cross member and the latter is interposed between the fixed jaw and the articulation of the hanger. The clamp advantageously comprises a third roller mounted for rotation on the end of the clamp body, opposite the fixed jaw. The control lever carries at its end opposite to the movable jaw a control roller, which cooperates at the entrance to a station with a control rail for opening the clamp to uncoupling the clamp from the cable. Similarly, a rail, disposed at the outlet, controls the re-coupling of the clamp to the cable in a manner well known to specialists.
The distance between the anchoring points of the springs, on the side of the fixed jaw, is greater than the gauge of the articulation of the hanger, which can thus be adjacent to the cross member while being framed by the two springs. The anchoring points of the springs on the side of the fixed jaw are substantially at the level of the clamp body and the springs extend upwards above the clamp body while being doubly inclined relative to the latter. These inclinations influence the action of the springs on the control lever and allow modulation of the characteristics of these springs.
The drive of the uncoupled clamp of the cable in the stations is preferably carried out by sets of wheels tires, which engage a friction track arranged above the cross member which carries the support rollers.
- la figure 1 est une vue en élévation, partiellement en coupe, d'une pince selon l'invention, représentée en trait plein en position de fermeture et en pointillés en position d'ouverture;
- Figure 1 is an elevational view, partially in section, of a clamp according to the invention, shown in solid lines in the closed position and in dotted lines in the open position;
- FIG. 2 is a plan view of the clamp according to FIG. 1.
In the figures, a disengageable clamp has an
The
