Abstract

The attachment hook consists of an attachment body (10) which extends transversely on one side of the cable (9), and carries a suspension link (11) to carry the load. The jaw for gripping the cable consists of a fixed jaw (13) carried by the body of the attachment, and a moving jaw (14), linked to the fixed jaw. A control lever (17) attached to the fixed jaw is used to control the opening and closing of the jaw. A pair of compression springs are arranged symmetrically on each side of a primary plane and assist the operating lever in its closed position.     Claims (8)

    1. A disengageable clamp for coupling a load to a carrier/tractor cable (9) on an overhead-cable transportation installation, comprising a clamp body (10) extending transversely on one side of the cable, in the position in which it is coupled to the latter, and carrying an articulation (11) for a suspension member (12) for supporting the load, a cable clamping gripper, consisting of a fixed jaw (13) carried by the clamp body (10) and a movable jaw (14) articulated on the fixed jaw, a control lever (17) which is fixed to the movable jaw (14) and extends the latter whilst lying and moving in a first plane containing the clamp body (10), in order to control the opening and closing of the gripper, a pair of compression coil springs (28, 29) disposed symmetrically on each side of the said first plane and acting on the control lever (17) in the position of closure of the gripper, characterised in that one of the ends (30, 31) of the springs (28, 29) is anchored in the vicinity of the end of the control lever (17), opposite the movable jaw (14), in that the other end (33, 34) of the springs is anchored close to the fixed jaw (13), in that the two springs (28, 29) lie in a second plane, which is perpendicular to the first plane and is inclined with respect to the clamp body (10), and in that the distance in the said second plane between the anchoring points for the ends (33, 34) of the springs on the same side as the fixed jaw (13) is greater than that on the same side as the control lever (17).
    2. A clamp according to Claim 1, characterised in that it has a cross-member (26) fixed to the clamp body (10) close to the fixed jaw (13) and extending in the direction of the cable (9) around which the clamp fits, which cross-member (26) carries at each of its ends on the one hand a running wheel (22, 23) and on the other hand the anchoring point for the end (33, 34) of the spring (28, 29).
    3. A clamp according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that it has a running wheel (21) carried by the end of the clamp body (10) opposite the fixed jaw (13).
    4. A clamp according to Claim 1, 2 or 3, characterised in that the control lever (17) carries, at its end opposite the movable jaw (14), a control wheel (20).
    5. A clamp according to Claim 1, 2, 3 or 4, characterised in that the distance between the anchoring points for the springs (28, 29) on the same side as the fixed jaw (13) is greater than the size of the articulation (11) of the suspension member (12), which is adjacent to the cross-member (26) and is framed by the two springs (28, 29).
    6. A clamp according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the anchoring points for the springs (28, 29) on the same side as the fixed jaw (13) are substantially level with the clamp body (10) and in that the springs extend upwards above the clamp body whilst being doubly inclined with respect to the latter.
    7. A clamp according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it has a drive track (27) disposed above the cross-member (26) carried by the clamp body (10).
    8. A clamp according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that each anchoring point for the springs (28, 29) has a spherical articulation (37).
