Abstract

The mechanism, for a perforating cylinder (1), acts along a transverse fold line, a holder being provided for the perforating blade (3). The latter consists of a series of individual perforation knives (8,9) in a row running in the axial direction of the perforating cylinder. Each knife can have a straight perforating section and one inclined to it in the direction of rotation (C) of the cylinder and towards a line (11) bisecting the cylinder in the transverse direction of the latter. There can be an inclined perforating section to each end of the straight one.

Description

The invention relates to a device for cross perforating signatures according to the preamble of claim 1.

Dabei sind die Schneidkanten der Perforierzähne U-förmig ausgebildet, so daß die Basisschneidkanten der Perforierzähne auf einer gemeinsamen Geraden liegen, wobei die Schenkel unmittelbar benachbarter Perforierzähne wechselseitig zueinander angeordnet sind.EP 03 07 891 B1 has disclosed a perforating knife for perforating signatures before folding, the perforating knife having a large number of perforating teeth arranged next to one another at a distance. The cutting edges of the perforating teeth are U-shaped, so that the basic cutting edges of the perforating teeth lie on a common straight line, the legs of immediately adjacent perforating teeth being mutually arranged.

Dieses Perforiermesser kann komplett ausgewechselt werden. This perforating knife can be replaced completely.

The invention has for its object to provide a perforating knife for a perforating device for transverse perforation of signatures, in which the entire perforating knife bar does not have to be replaced after damage to a perforating tooth.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of claim 1 solved.

The invention has the following advantages in particular: the rapid interchangeability of the individual perforating knives increases the service life of the perforating knife bar. The individual perforating knives are components that can be easily manufactured as standard. Furthermore, with a variation in the distances between the individual perforating knives, i. H. by varying the tooth gaps and thus the length of the webs, it is possible that the perforating knife bar can be adapted to both the thickness and the grammage of the signatures. the perforating knife bar composed of the individual perforating knives according to the invention is suitable for forming a second longitudinal fold.

The invention is explained in more detail below using several exemplary embodiments. A folding unit of a rotary printing press has, inter alia, a perforating cylinder 1. The perforating cylinder 1 carries in a cylinder-wide pit 2 a perforating knife bar, denoted overall by 3. The perforating knife bar 3 has a form-fitting, for. B. connected by screws to the bottom of the pit 2 extending in the axial direction profile strip 4, approximately in the form of a T rotated by 180 °. At the end 6 of the leg 7, which extends vertically, that is to say in the radial direction of the perforating cylinder 1, in particular on an end face of the end 6, an individual perforating knife, which is generally designated 8 or 9, is supported on the right or left of a plane 11 bisecting the perforating cylinder, which will be described in more detail below. The plane bisecting the perforating cylinder intersects at right angles an axis of rotation of the perforating cylinder 1. Each individual perforating knife 8; 9 has a straight perforating part 13 (hereinafter referred to as a straight part) which extends congruently with a future transverse fold line 12 and has a width b and a height h. At both ends 14; 16 of the straight part 8; 9 each extends an angled perforating part 17; 18 (hereinafter referred to as an angled part) with a length l and a height e. Both angled parts 17; 18 are at an angle alpha, z. B. 45 ° to the straight part 13 so that the free ends of the angled Parts 17; 18 each point both in the direction of the plane 11 bisecting the cylinder length and simultaneously in the transport direction of a signature 19 or in the direction of rotation C of the perforating cylinder 1. Both the angled parts 17; 18 and the straight part 13 of the individual perforating knife 8; 9 each have cutting edges 22 on their side facing a counter-perforating cylinder 21; 23 or a cutting edge 24. The cutting edges 22 to 24 can each have a one-sided bevel and also a finely toothed cutting edge 22 to 24 (FIGS. 4 to 6). Due to a lower height e of the angled parts 17; 18 compared to the height h of the straight part 13, the undersides 26; 27 of the angled parts 17; 18 supported on the end 6 of the vertical T-leg 7, while the end or tongues 28 of the straight part 13 projecting by the amount h minus e bears against a longitudinal side of the vertical T-leg 7 and by means of a parallel and in the axial direction vertical T-leg 7 extending terminal block 31, z. B. is clamped by means of screws. The individual perforating knives 8; 9 are spaced apart individually at a distance a, ie one tooth gap each, which corresponds to a so-called web between two cuts in the signature 19. The distance a can be between two and eight millimeters. The individual perforating knife 8; 9; 36, 43 can be made of folded steel sheet with a thickness d, z. B. exist between 0.5 to 1.5 millimeters. The Single perforating knife 8; 9 are each formed in one piece and can be arranged symmetrically or asymmetrically to the plane 11 bisecting the cylinder length. An asymmetrical arrangement of the individual perforating knives 8; 9 (Fig. 2 and 3) has when perforating multilayer signatures 19, z. B. up to 160 pages, the advantage that the between the perforation cuts 32; 33 resulting webs 34 of both signature halves 39; 41 after the formation of a second longitudinal fold along the plane 11 bisecting the cylinder length, so that a perforation cut 32; 33 and webs 34 resulting "bulge" is avoided.

Between the right and left individual perforating knives 8; 9, the plane 11 bisecting the cylinder length is arranged a middle single perforating knife 36 with a width f, consisting of a straight part 42, the parts 37 of which are angled at an angle alpha to the straight part 42; 38 (FIG. 2) each point in the direction of the plane 11 bisecting the cylinder length and in the direction of rotation C of the perforating cylinder 1.

It is also possible to use a medium single perforating knife 43 in several parts, e.g. B. from three parts, the parts of which are each separately displaceable or can be arranged in a row (FIG. 7), namely with a middle straight part 44 and a first outer straight part 46 with a first part 37 angled at an angle alpha and a second outer straight part 47 with a part 38 angled at an angle alpha, as already described for the central single perforating knife 36. The straight parts 44; 46; 47 are arranged at a distance g from each other which corresponds less, ie up to 0.8 times the distance a between the individual perforating knives 8 or 9.

It goes without saying that the right or left individual perforating knives 8; 9 lined up along the entire length of the perforating knife bar 3. Furthermore, it goes without saying that cutting edges, in particular finely toothed cutting edges, are arranged on each of the straight parts and the angled parts.

It when the cutting edge 24 of the straight part 13 opposite end 28 is formed with a bead 48 extending in the axial direction of the perforating cylinder 1 is particularly advantageous, so that the bead 48 is positively inserted into a vertical T-leg 7, not shown in FIG Profile rail 4 engages the groove and thus the individual perforating knife 8 (FIGS. 4 and 5) and also all other previously mentioned or subsequently mentioned individual perforating knives are well protected against the harmful effects of the centrifugal forces.

In another embodiment variant, a single perforating knife, designated overall by 49, has a straight perforating part 51 with at its two ends 14; 16 located, angled at an angle alpha perforating parts 52; 53. In addition, a holding part 54 runs parallel and cohesively to the straight perforating part 51 with a second perforating part 56, which is also angled at an angle alpha and runs parallel and at a distance of 0.5 times a length l from the angled perforating part 52. The length of the angled parts 52; 53; 56 is also about 0.5 times a length l of the angled parts 17; 18 of the aforementioned single perforating knives 8; 9. All angled perforating parts 52; 53; 56 point both in the direction of the plane 11 bisecting the length of the cylinder and in the direction of rotation C of the perforating cylinder 1. These individual perforating knives 49 each have a right-hand and left-hand version, with softer the individual perforating knives with their angled perforating parts each in the direction of rotation C and in the direction of the cylinder bisecting plane 11 point and a single perforating knife analogous to the individual perforating knife 36 is arranged in the center. This type of individual perforating knives 49 with the shortened angled, perforating parts are used in a spaced manner, advantageously used in particular for signatures with a relatively small number of up to 48 pages, in which the short angled, perforating parts a "short trimming" is achieved (Fig. 7).

In a further embodiment variant, a single perforating knife, designated overall by 57, is formed in several parts and consists of two perforating angle parts 58 spaced apart from one another at a distance g (analogous to single perforating knife 43); 59, with their respective straight perforating parts 61; pointing in the axial direction of the perforating cylinder 1; 62 are directed towards one another, while the angled, perforating parts with the angle alpha in each case in the direction of rotation C of the perforating cylinder 1 and in the direction of the plane 11 bisecting the length of the cylinder with 63; 64 are designated. It is also possible to determine the distance g between the two angular parts 58; 59 to zero, so that a single perforating knife 8 or 9 is then formed in the arrangement.

The above-described single perforating knife, e.g. B. 8; 36; 9 (Fig. 2) are with their straight perforating parts, for. B. 13 at a distance a between the vertical T leg 7 of the profile bar 4 and the terminal block 31, so that a perforating knife bar 3 is formed (Fig. 1 and 2). The adjustable single perforating knives 8; 36; 9 of the perforating knife bar 3 act against one in a cylinder pit 66 of the counter perforating cylinder 21 attached elastic counter bar, labeled 67 in total. The signature 19 is provided with a transverse perforation between the perforating knife bar 3 and the counter bar 67.

The counter bar 67 can have a rectangular, in particular a square cross-section with a bore 68 extending in the axial direction to the counter-perforating cylinder 21, in which a cylindrical helical spring 69 extends over the entire length, the outer diameter of which rests on the diameter of the bore 68 (FIG . 1 and 9). this coil spring 69 has a length which is greater than the product of the number of turns and the wire diameter of the coil spring 69, so that the turns of the coil spring 69 do not abut one another. Blown air is blown at at least one end 71 of the coil spring 69, e.g. B. in such a way that the end 71 is connected to a leading through the axle 72 of the counter perforating cylinder 21 blowing air line 73. The axle journal 72 is provided by means of a known rotatable insertion 74, which is connected to a blown air source 76. The rotary insert 74 is fastened to the side frame 78 of the machine by means of a flange 77.

A.It is also possible to design the counter bar 67 as a square hollow profile, the turns of the coil spring 69 partially on the inside of the hollow profile issue. The counter bar 67 consists of a hard rubber-like, elastic material, for. B. plastic, such as polyester-polyol with a hardness of about 90 Shore A.

The function of the device for transverse perforation is as follows: during the production of the folder, the signatures are perforated transversely between the perforating knife bar 3 and the counter bar 76, the cutting edges, e.g. B. 22, 23, 24 of the individual perforating knife, for. B. 8, 36, 9 not only penetrate the paper webs of the signature, but at the same time penetrate beyond their theoretical effective diameter into the surface of the elastic counter bar 67 until they end just before the clear diameter of the bore 68. Due to the permanent penetration of the cutting edges 22, 23, 24 of the individual perforating knives 8, 36, 9 into the counter bar 67 with each cylinder revolution, the missing piece between the depth of penetration of the cutting edges 22, 23, 24 and the clear diameter of the bore 68 is worked up, ie permeable , so that the paper dust produced during perforation penetrates between the turns of the cylindrical coil spring 69 located in the bore 68 into the cylindrical cavity inside the turns, from where this paper dust is introduced by means of blowing air introduced from the first end 71 of the coil spring 69 or the bore 68 is blown outdoors. It is of course also possible to end the paper dust at the second to extract the coil spring 69 by means of negative pressure and an analog rotary introduction via the second, also not shown, axle journal.
