Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP94/00675 Sec. 371 Date Sep. 11, 1995 Sec. 102(e) Date Sep. 11, 1995 PCT Filed Mar. 7, 1994 PCT Pub. No. WO94/20701 PCT Pub. Date Sep. 15, 1994A joint-sealing strip is made of soft foam material, with an impregnation leading to delayed recovery. In order to obtain a simple structure combined with an advantageous design especially with respect to technical handling, the impregnation varies over the width of the joint-sealing strip, namely in a marginal longitudinal area. A strengthened impregnation is made preferably extending over the total thickness in the marginal longitudinal area, in such a manner that upon release of the recovery, a profile rising toward a longitudinal center line of the joint-sealing strip is obtained.

Description

2.The invention relates to a joint sealing tape made of soft Foam according to the characteristics of the generic term of claims 1 and 2.

Such joint sealing tapes are in the prior art have already become known in various configurations. First, for example, the French Patent 1,544,724. On to the German Patent 1 000 946. In addition, these are sealing tapes in various other configurations become known, for example on EP-A3 229 951 and EP-A2 323 589 is to be referred.

To different properties of such a joint sealing tape, however over the height of the joint sealing tape, to achieve it is also in EP-A1 317 833, which has the features of the preamble of claims 1 and 2, already proposed different foams, namely a foam with an impregnating agent is impregnable and a foam that is not impregnable with an impregnating agent combine.

Based on the aforementioned state of the art becomes a problem with the invention seen in it a joint sealing tape of the known type to develop so that with a simple structure Particularly advantageous in terms of handling Design results.

This problem is the subject of claim 1 or of claim 2 solved. The impregnation is different over a width of the joint sealing tape, namely in a longitudinal edge area and preferred over the entire thickness in this longitudinal edge area extending, the impregnation is carried out increasingly. This in such a way that after the reset is released a to the central longitudinal axis of the joint sealing tape setting increasing profile. It was found, that such impregnation of the joint sealing tape to an advantageous geometry of the joint sealing tape shortly after uncompression, such as one Unwind from a winding, and leads before installation. This teaching has meaning in the first place a conventional, open-cell foam and impregnated for delayed reset Joint sealing tape as it is mentioned in the introduction Literature is known. Here a longitudinal edge area, or both longitudinal edge areas, additionally reinforced or, as preferred, with a second impregnating agent, as described in more detail below is to be impregnated. Through this additional, reinforced or special impregnation is the foam of the joint sealing tape in this area too delayed to the middle area of the joint sealing tape, which in itself is a delayed reset is impregnated, back. Basically, such Delays in the range of 8, 16 and more Hours lie (this is also due to environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, etc.). Further it is preferred that an impregnation, in particular with the special described below Impregnation agent, only in one (or both) longitudinal areas is made. By the fact that the joint sealing tape is not impregnated in this version is there (in a middle one Area) after a release of the default of the foam of the joint sealing tape immediately spontaneously. From this different provision on the The width of the joint sealing tape also results in this version the geometric shape of a Rising central longitudinal axis of the joint sealing tape Profiles. Here is the foam of the joint sealing tape uniformly chosen the same. The impregnated longitudinal edge area the joint sealing tape is from the same Foam formed like the non-impregnated area of the joint sealing tape. The joint sealing tape is also made entirely of an integral foam strip educated. Furthermore, it is also preferred that a initial compression only about a third to Half of the initial thickness of the foam material is. This also allows foam to be used a certain middle position in terms of porosity between the well-known open-cell foam and a complete or almost completely closed pore Takes foam. The joint sealing tapes of the type assumed to be known here so far only known from open-cell foam. To carry out the impregnation continuously can, it is even common for reticulated open-pore Foam to use, so a practically one hundred percent There is open porosity. In contrast, it is in Preferred within the scope of the present invention To use foam, which is essentially open-pore is, but its pores are comparatively smaller Inlet and outlet cross sections compared to a conventional, open-pore used for such joint sealing tapes Have foam. Here is the type of foam but less about the qualification "open-pore" or to make "closed-pore" rather than to characterize via air resistance. While Usually such joint sealing tapes are used open cell foam (on which the invention relates in a first variant, as detailed above explained, also relates) air resistance from approx. 250 to 260 l.qm.s (measured according to DIN 53887) owns, points to the version in question used foam such air resistance from 30 to 60, preferably 40 to 50 l.qm.s. on (measured with a so-called Frank device). The longitudinal edge area, which (only) has the impregnation preferably about a quarter of the width of the Joint sealing tape. In a further preferred embodiment it is envisaged that the impregnation on both Edge longitudinal areas of the joint sealing tape made is and that after release of the provision the joint sealing tape has a medium curvature in profile. This geometric characterization also says something about the foam used. This must be correspondingly soft or flexible, so that the sets mentioned profiling. In detail it is Impregnation on both longitudinal edge areas about made the same width. In total about over half the width of the joint sealing tape. At Relatively wide joint sealing tapes can be the width of such an impregnated longitudinal edge area also be relatively smaller. Also the impregnation agent itself is preferably used in a special form. So far it is already known, impregnation agent to use that have a certain paraffin content. In the context of the present invention it is however preferred, the impregnating agent practically pure paraffin base. Beyond that it is also preferred to use so-called poly waxes (polyethylene glycols). The consistency of these can be adjusted from ointment-like to hard wax-like. Hereby can accordingly on the delay of the provision being controlled. The impregnating agent does certain modification elements continue, however, these fall in terms of their share in the The amount of the impregnating agent hardly weighs. This special impregnating agent described last can regarding the first version described above the invention at the edge areas in a simple manner are "over-impregnated", so that it is as it were there is a double layer of impregnating agent there. Incidentally, this is also advantageous in terms of a further closure of the pores (even if none complete closure is achieved), so that moisture can penetrate less easily (but a vapor permeability nevertheless still to the desired extent given is). In addition, this also has the advantage that the joint sealing tapes impregnated in a conventional manner on the edge areas with the special Impregnation agents are provided, not the usual Exhibit stickiness. This also advantageously supports the installation options. This advantage naturally applies likewise for the described second version.

The impregnation with the special described Impregnation is also important when it not to one edge longitudinal area, or to both edge longitudinal areas, is limited. This special impregnation agent makes it possible, for example described, preferred here foams for delayed To impregnate provision. Anyway with regard to the described, preferably occurring geometrical peculiarities also a design possible, in which an impregnation with the special impregnation agent over the entire surface, however only in the area of the central axis shallower depth.

Is shown and described, initially with reference to 1 to 3, a joint sealing tape 1, the a soft, porous foam that is made with impregnation leading to delayed provision is provided. The impregnation is based on Made of poly wax, which is only a small, by volume non-significant proportion of modification substances contains.

It is essential that the impregnation only in a longitudinal edge area 2 or 3 of the joint sealing tape made is. In a cross section of the joint sealing tape 1, as shown in FIG. 1 or FIG. 3, is closed recognize that the edge longitudinal area 2 and 3 indeed over the entire thickness d of the joint sealing tape 1 extends, but not over the entire width b. Much more is a width b 1 of the - only - impregnated Edge longitudinal area 2 or 3 in the embodiment only about a quarter of the total width b of the joint sealing tape 1.

5) Profil einstellt.Furthermore, from the cross-sectional illustration according to FIG. 1 or Fig. 3 that after releasing the provision a starting from an edge longitudinal area 2 or 3, to a central longitudinal axis A (or corresponding vertical central longitudinal plane) rising (flank 4 or 5) sets the profile.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, in which two impregnated edge longitudinal areas 2, 3 are provided there is an overall bell-shaped profile (in the upper area) of the joint sealing tape 1 shortly after Release of the provision. A central area 6 of the Joint sealing tape 1, which is not delayed with one Provision impregnated leading impregnation agent is immediately after the provision is released spontaneously back. Because of the lagging The longitudinal edge regions 2, 3 thus result in the depicted and described bell-shaped profile.

It is also essential that a thickness d1 of the complete deferred joint sealing tape 1 (Fig. 2) only about two to three times the thickness d2 of Joint sealing tape 1 in the compressed state.

Hier stellt sich ein insgesamt im wesentlichen keilförmiges Profil ein.4 shows a joint sealing strip 1 in profile, in which only an edge longitudinal region 3 ' with an impregnation agent leading to the delayed provision is provided. Here is a total essentially wedge-shaped profile.

In Fig. 5 ist das Fugendichtungsband 1 gemäß der Ausgestaltung nach den Fig. 1 bis 3 im Einbauzustand dargestellt, wobei eine vollständige Rückstellung der imprägnierten Rand-Längsbereiche 2, 3 noch nicht erfolgt ist.5, the joint sealing tape 1 is in accordance with the configuration 1 to 3 in the installed state, being a full provision of the impregnated Edge longitudinal areas 2, 3 has not yet taken place.

From Fig. 5 it can be seen that the default profile of the central area 6 with regard to installation an advantageous first complete sealing of a Joint 7 between two wall corner areas 8, 9 or the like. results. Furthermore, as is known per se, that the joint sealing tape 1 on one of its wide area is provided with a pressure sensitive adhesive tape 10. By means of the PSA tape 10 is in the embodiment Joint sealing tape 1 with a wall surface 11 of the Wall corner area 9 glued.

After the joint sealing tape has been completely reset 1 also results in the longitudinal edge regions 2, 3 advantageous, as it were, three-layer structure in the thickness direction the joint sealing tape 1, that is, from an upper side 12 (when installed) to an underside 13. This Layering is also important in terms of building physics and advantageous. The result in the longitudinal edge regions 2, 3 a higher tightness and a very extensive closure the foam pores. In contrast, is in the middle Area 6 of the joint sealing tape 1 still a certain Permeability, also vapor permeability, is given. While - also through the masonry 8 - from inside as it were in the "bypass" to that in the installed state 4 lower edge longitudinal area 2 a certain Steam escapes from inside the sealed structure, is possible in the direction of the surface 12 regarding moisture intrusion from the outside or steam, as it were, a double barrier through the given two edge longitudinal areas 3, 2.

It is also preferred that the impregnation of both Edge longitudinal areas 2, 3 is different, such that one arranged in the installed state to the outside of a building Edge longitudinal region 3 a water vapor diffusion permits to a greater extent than the impregnation of the im Installed state towards the interior of the building along the longitudinal edge area 2. Same result, taking this Measure can also be carried out, however so that the impregnation of a (or both) edge longitudinal areas 2, 3 with different Intensity is carried out such that the intensity from outer surfaces 12 or 13 to a central area 6 of the joint sealing tape 1 decreases.

In Fig. 6 ist ein Einbauspiel, auch noch kurz nach Freigabe der verzögerten Rückstellung, bezüglich einer nur einseitigen Imprägnierung an einem Rand-Längsbereich des Dichtungsbandes 1 dargestellt.6 is an installation game, even shortly after release the delayed deferral, as of one only one-sided impregnation on a longitudinal edge area of the Sealing tape 1 shown.

Because of the wedge-shaped cross-sectional profile a very good installation option here too.

3 dargestellt.5 and 6 is in each case in dashed lines also the course of the surfaces 12 and 13 after complete Provision of the impregnated longitudinal edge areas 2 and 3 shown.

Als Schaumstoff kommt insbesondere Polyurethanschaumstoff zur Anwendung. The foam comes in particular from polyurethane foam to use.

Dies entspricht dem meßtechnischen Wert, wie weiter vorne bereits angeführt, von ca. 40 bis 50 l.qm.s.7 shows the structure of the polyurethane foam used here clarifies. The - from drawing technology For reasons easily shown schematically - Structure of the foam consists of a reticulated Basic framework in which larger or smaller openings having pores 14, 15, 16, etc. are present. Although the opening cross-sections of the pores are comparatively are shown large results in real, too due to the superposition of very many layers relative small pores, an essential unity of the Foam. E.g. can only by blowing on air flow can be achieved with great difficulty. This corresponds to the metrological value, as further already listed at the front, from approx. 40 to 50 l.qm.s.

The special impregnation agent used is so far advantageous as it has an extremely low surface tension having. It therefore penetrates simple Soak in the longitudinal edge areas. This can even meaning that a certain closed structure of the foam can be present, with a lower percentage of open Pores because this special impregnation agent is light penetrates into the foam.

The above description of the embodiment is designed so that a central area of the Foam is not impregnated at all. The practical same results are also achieved if, as initially described as the first version, a conventional joint sealing strip, which also in conventional Impregnated way for delayed reset is on one or both longitudinal edge regions 2, 3 is impregnated additionally or in a special way.

The in the above description, the drawing and Features of the invention disclosed in the claims can both individually and in any combination for the realization of the invention may be of importance.
