Description

The invention relates to a sealing element according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.

Such sealing elements are already known in many forms, for which reference is made, for example, to German patent application 35 44 277, European patent 75 955 and European patent application 84 11 0947.3.

These known sealing elements have in common that essentially an entire sealing joint is filled with resilient, impregnated open-cell foam. The partially provided adhesive layers or foils are not important in terms of volume.

In certain applications, however, it is preferred to introduce closed-cell foam into a seal if possible. Closed-cell foam cannot be impregnated, so it cannot be reset after a delay. It can therefore not be introduced into a sealing joint in a comparably simple manner, as is the case with the known sealing elements made of impregnated or impregnated foam. In contrast, closed-cell foam is essentially airtight and also tight with respect to water vapor, but not open-celled.

In view of the above-described prior art, the object of the invention is to provide a sealing element which essentially has the advantages which are associated with the delayed resilience of the known sealing element, but at least partially also has the advantages of using closed-cell Brings with it foam.

This object is achieved in the invention specified in claim 1.

According to the invention, a sealing element is created which is partially elastically resettable after a delay and partially only resiliently resilient. On the one hand, properties of a sealing element that can be reset with a delay can be combined with a sealing element that can only be elastically restored. For example, the higher or greater tightness of the closed-cell foam material can be used. In addition, there is the advantage that a material which is difficult to insert into a sealing joint, non-impregnable or impregnable closed-cell foam, can be introduced into a sealing joint in a simple manner, in that the sealing element according to the invention delays on part of its cross-sectional area is resilient.

In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the part of the cross section of the sealing element, which is only elastically resilient, is arranged between two parts of delayed elastically resilient foam. The soaked open-cell foam surrounds a strip of closed-cell foam on both sides. The installation on the walls of the sealing joint is carried out in each case by means of the parts of the cross section, which consist of open-cell foam, while in the middle area there is the only elastically resilient closed-cell foam. The middle part of the cross-section tes can be introduced in a known manner in a sealing joint, due to the outer parts of delayed elastic resilient foam.

This is seen, for example, as an advantage that an essential cross section of the sealing joint can be filled with the relatively dense, closed-cell foam.

Likewise, in the context of the invention, the open-cell, impregnated and delayed resilient foam can be arranged in the central part of the cross-section, while the closed-cell foam is arranged on outer parts.

With regard to the connection of the different layers of the sealing element, there are various possibilities. First, the layers can be glued together. For this purpose, the adhesive effect of the impregnating agent of the foam that can be reset with delay may even be sufficient. In addition, the layers can also be connected by means of a separate adhesive, as is known per se. For example, this can also be a double-sided adhesive film.

A further proposal of the invention is to connect the layers with one another in a form-fitting manner, specifically the closed-cell foam can form a longitudinal rib on one side, which rib is overlapped by the open-cell foam or vice versa.

  • Fig. 1 ein Dichtungselement, bei welchem jeweils ein äußerer Teil der Querschnittsfläche aus einem geschlossenzelligen und einem offenzelligen, verzögert rückstellfähigen Schaumstoff besteht;
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which:
  • Fig. 1 shows a sealing element, in each of which an outer part of the cross-sectional area from one closed-cell and an open-cell, delayed resilient foam;
  • Fig. 2 shows a sealing element in which an inner part of the cross-sectional area consists of closed-cell, elastically resilient foam, while the respective outer parts of the cross-sectional area consist of open-cell, impregnated and delayed resilient foam and
  • Fig. 3 shows a sealing element with two outer layers of only elastically resilient foam and an inner layer delayed resilient foam.

Shown and described are sealing elements 1, in which a cross-sectional area 2 partially (3) consists of delayed elastic-resilient open-cell foam due to impregnation and partially (4) only resiliently resilient closed-cell foam.

The connection between the individual layers 3 and 4 at the connection levels 5 can be realized in different ways. For example, the layers can simply be glued together. In addition, a positive connection can also be provided, separately or in combination with the adhesive mentioned.

In detail, a sealing element is shown in Fig. 1, in which the upper part of the cross section in the drawing consists of elastically resilient, soaked open-cell foam (3) and the lower part consists of only resiliently resilient closed-cell foam (4).

Lage handelt.2, an outer part of the cross-sectional area 2 is filled with a volume of delayed elastically resilient open-cell foam 3 and an inner part of the cross-sectional area 2 with a volume of only resiliently resilient closed-cell foam 4. The inner part means one otherwise rectangular cross-section of the sealing elements 1 shown, that it is a middle layer or layer.

In the sealing element shown in FIG. 2, it can also be seen that a thread grid structure 6 is arranged in the upper outer surface of part 3, which is also covered (in the delivery state) with a film 7.

In the sealing element according to FIG. 3, two outer layers 4 of only elastically resilient foam are provided, which surround a middle layer 3 of delayed restorable open-cell foam.

The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, the drawing and the claims can be of importance both individually and in any combination for realizing the invention in its most varied form.
