Definitions
- the invention relates to a filter connector with a strip body made of insulating material, which forms a chamber open to the rear for a ferrite core arrangement, with a number of parallel connector pins arranged in a grid, which enter the chamber from the rear and through the floor emerge from the chamber to the front of the strip body, at least a part of the connector pins being guided inside the chamber through bores in the ferrite core arrangement, with a shield housing covering the side walls and at least part of the back of the strip body and the chamber, with the plug pins being recessed, which by means of resilient side parts reaches over the side walls of the strip body and is locked with angled portions of its side parts on locking elements of the front of the strip body, and with a capacitive filter element for a number of plug pins, which is on the opposite side of the chamber from the back
- the outside of the shield housing is soldered to the connector pins on the one hand and to the shield housing on the other.
- Such a filter connector is known from DE-U-90 05 597.
- the shield housing is attached to the strip body via resilient side parts, which grip over the side walls of the strip body and engage with angled edge sections on its front side. After pushing the screen housing onto the last body, the edge sections are angled inwards and locked in a separate work step. Also are on the edge sections Spring arms extending along the side walls of the strip body are formed, which are bent away from the strip body and, when the connector is installed on a mounting plate, result in contact or ground connection without additional measures. In this way, in the known connector, a generally usable fastening of the shield housing is achieved with a ground connection that can be produced at the same time as the installation. Under certain circumstances, for example when the minus tolerances in the thickness of a mounting plate are exceeded, the shield contact, which is reliable per se, can be adversely affected.
- the object of the invention is to achieve an even more cost-effective fastening of the shield housing in a filter connector of the type mentioned at the outset and to increase the safety of the shield contact.
- the bends of the resilient side parts are designed as spring arms, all of which are bent inwards, with alternating sliding and latching elements for connecting the shield housing to the strip body or contact elements for contacting the shield housing on a mounting plate .
- the last body is designed with ramp and sliding bevels.
- the shield housing in the filter connector according to the invention is fixed to the strip body by self-locking and without a separate operation, as a result of which the shield housing is fastened even more cost-effectively.
- the contact elements, which are bent inwards at an angle to the plug-in direction, ensure reliable tolerance contact independent of the tolerance even in the case of unfavorable tolerance conditions in the thickness of a mounting plate.
- all spring arms of the shield housing are bent inwards. This is of particular advantage in terms of assembly technology.
- the filter connector can then easily on the mounting plate, e.g. in the plugging direction as well as in directions perpendicular to it, as related to the plugging direction - from the side. on a device front panel.
- the side walls of the strip body are expediently designed in accordance with the arrangement of the spring arms of the shield housing, alternately with depressions adapted to the shape of the contact elements and with run-up and sliding bevels.
- the strip body on its side walls is adapted to the design of the shield housing and is thus advantageously designed to be connected to the shield housing to form a unit.
- the bottom surface of the shield housing covering the open chamber of the strip body has a centrally arranged, rectangular cut-out with two longitudinal sides arranged opposite one another, in which completion the screen housing is initially provided in one plane and facing each other, parallel webs and spears.
- the mounting then takes place simply in that the webs for mounting the ferrite core arrangement are bent inwards at an angle to the base surface and the spikes for mounting the filter element are bent outwards perpendicularly to the base surface. Due to the spring action of the webs, a play-free fastening of the ferrite core arrangement in the chamber of the last body can be ensured.
- the arrangement of the skewers enables the filter element to be attached easily.
- the locking of the shield housing on the strip body is supported in a filter connector according to the invention in an advantageous manner in that spring arms arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the bottom surface of the shield housing covering the open chamber of the strip body are torn and bent inwards at an angle to the bottom surface . These spring arms counteract the direction of insertion of the last body and thus lead to a secure locking of the umbrella housing.
- the filter element is formed on a printed circuit board carrier material.
- a circuit board filter is less expensive than a planar filter with a ceramic substrate and, owing to the advantageous fastening option on the shield housing, can be mounted more easily from the back of the strip body or on its connection side.
- the filter connector according to FIGS. 1 to 4 has a strip body 1 made of insulating material, for example made of plastic, which is shown in detail in FIGS. 5 to 8.
- the strip body 1 forms with its side walls 16 a chamber 2 open towards the connection side (rear side) (Fig. 7) for receiving a ferrite core arrangement 3.
- the comb 2 is closed by a shield housing 4 shown in FIGS. 9 to 13 in detail.
- the strip body 1 has a number of parallel, arranged in a grid connector pins 5, which from the connection side through holes 15 of a filter element 6 (Fig.2) and a section 7 of the screen housing 4 enter the chamber 2 and through the floor 8 of the chamber are guided to the plug side (front) of the filter connector, where they form free plug ends 5a for connection to a plug socket.
- the free plug ends 5a are surrounded by a collar 9 molded onto the strip body 1, which on its outside has latching elements 10 for latching on a mounting plate 11, for example a front plate of a device.
- the connector pins 5 are bent approximately at right angles with their sections 5b and soldered to a circuit board 12 (FIG. 3).
- the ferrite core arrangement 3 accommodated in the chamber 2 has holes in the grid of the connector pins with which the ferrite core is plugged onto the connector pins 5.
- the ferrite core arrangement can consist, for example, of a 2-hole ferrite core or a 6 - Hole ferrite core exist and then only be plugged onto two connector pins or a row or group of six connector pins.
- the filter element 6 (FIG. 2) is formed on a printed circuit board carrier material, arranged on the connection side (rear side) of the shield housing 4 and with two mutually opposite rows with a different number of holes 13 for ground contact and between these two rows with SMD Technology applied capacitors 14 and provided with holes 15 for the connector pins 5.
- the shield housing (Fig. 9 to 13) consists of a bent sheet metal part ready for use and ready to plug in, which covers the side walls 16 and at least part of the connection side (rear) of the strip body 1 and the chamber 2, with the plug pins 5 being recessed.
- the shield housing 4 which is bent from the unwinding 4a of the bent sheet metal part (FIG. 13) to form a rectangular trough which is not connected at the corner edges, has resilient side parts 17a to 17d which engage over the side walls 16 of the strip body 1, are formed with bends and on projections 19 engage the plug-in side (front) of the last body.
- the bends of the resilient side parts 17a to 17d of the screen housing 4 are designed as individual, spaced-apart and mutually parallel spring arms 18a, 18b, which are arranged on opposite side parts 17a and 17b or 17c and 17d in equal numbers and in alignment with one another.
- the side parts 17a and 17b on the long side of the shield housing 4 each have seven spring arms 18a, 18b, while the side parts 17c and 17d on the narrow side of the shield housing 4 are each formed with three spring arms 18a, 18b.
- All spring arms are bent inwards from the edge of the side parts 17a to 17d, the spring arms lying next to each other alternatingly being contact elements 18b for contacting form the shield housing 4 on a mounting plate 11 or slide and locking elements 18a for connecting the shield housing 4 to the strip body 1.
- the contact elements 18b have a V-shaped outline shape with a rounded tip (Fig. 13) and are bent inwards at an angle to the direction of insertion (Fig. 10-12).
- the sliding and latching elements 18a are bent inwards at right angles from the side parts 17a to 17d and provided with a latching element in the form of a latching hole 21 which begins at the bend and which serves for latching the screen housing 4 on individual projections 19 of the strip body 1.
- the sliding and locking elements 18a are bent back at their free end to form a radius 20 transversely to the direction of insertion at an angle of somewhat less than 180 ° (FIGS. 11, 12).
- the side walls 16 of the strip body 1 are tapered at least over a portion extending in the direction of insertion towards the open connection side (rear) of the chamber 2 in such a way that run-up and sliding bevels 22 for the sliding and latching elements 18a for the purpose of widening the resilient side parts 17a to 17d of the Screen housing are formed.
- the side walls 16 of the strip body 1 are adapted to the design of the screen housing 4 for each sliding and latching element 18a each with its own ramp and sliding slope 22, these ramp and sliding slopes from each other according to the mutual distance of the sliding and latching elements 18a are spaced.
- the side walls 16 of the strip body 1 are here - in each case seen in the direction of insertion - formed over approximately two thirds of their extent with the run-up and sliding bevels 22 and over approximately one third of their extent with straight surfaces 23 parallel to the direction of insertion, these straight surfaces up to the edges 24 on the plug-in side (front) of the last body 1.
- the side walls 16 of the strip body 1 are - as particularly clearly shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 - formed with recesses 34 which are provided for the contact elements 18b and the shape of which is adapted. These depressions here extend on the narrow sides 35 (FIG. 6) over the entire height of the side walls 16 of the last body and on its longitudinal sides 36 only in a short section of the side walls 16 adjacent to the collar 9 (FIG. 8).
- the shield housing 4 is also designed in a manner which is advantageous for carrying out the plug pins 5 and for holding the filter element 6 and the ferrite core arrangement 3.
- the bottom surface 25 of the umbrella housing 4 covering the open chamber 2 of the strip body 1 is provided with a centrally arranged rectangular cutout 7 which has webs 27 and skewers 28 which are parallel to one another on two opposite longitudinal sides and which are in the development (FIG. 13) of the Umbrella housing are initially lying in one plane and facing each other.
- the wedge-shaped tapered webs 27 for holding the ferrite core arrangement 3 - as can be seen in FIG. 9 - are bent inwards at an angle to the bottom surface 25, so that they press the ferrite core arrangement resiliently against the bottom 8 of the chamber 2.
- the diagonally opposite one another Outer skewers 28a and 28b are somewhat longer in comparison to the other skewers 28 and are flipped over after the filter element 6 has been plugged in to fix it in place until the soldering process.
- spring arms 29 arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of the bottom surface are torn out of the bottom surface 25 of the shield housing 4 covering the open chamber 2 of the strip body 1 and bent obliquely inwards to the bottom surface 25, with FIGS. 9 and 13 showing that these spring arms 29 extend in the longitudinal direction substantially parallel to the side parts 17c and 17d of the screen housing 4.
- the spring arms 29 serve for the automatic locking of the shield housing 4 on the strip body 1.
- the side part 17a of the shield housing 4 has two circular holes 30 for fastening rivets 31 for fastening the filter connector to the circuit board 12 and in the bending edges 26 of the side parts 17a to 17d narrow longitudinal slots 32 and to the side of the spring arms 18a , 18b in the side parts 17a to 17d small free cuts 33 are provided as bending aids.
- the filter element 6 When assembling the connector, the filter element 6 is first preassembled on the shield housing 4, that is to say plugged onto the upstanding spikes 28 and 28a, b, the longer, diagonally opposite outer spikes 28a and 28b being flipped over and the filter element 6 thereby being pre-fixed.
- the filter element is therefore fed to the shield housing in a simple manner from the connection side (rear).
- the ferrite core arrangement 3 is then plugged (threaded) over the plug pins 5.
- the shield housing 4 is pushed onto the strip body 1 or this is inserted into the shield housing, which automatically locks in the manner described on the ledge body due to the spring arms 29 arranged in the bottom surface 25 of the screen housing 4.
