Definitions

  • the invention relates to a double flat spring contact with a stop device.
  • the stop device consists of a connected to the outer edge of each fork spring arm of a pair of fork spring arms and at a distance from the outer edge at right angles to the other pair of fork spring arms bent tab and from a web opposite the respective tab on the outer edge of each fork spring arm of the other pair of fork spring arms connected web against which the free end edge of the angled region of the tab abuts.
  • the outside of the spacer or stop device is aligned with the end wall of the spring arm base of the double flat spring contact.
  • the double flat spring contact is pushed into a cuboid chamber of a connector housing.
  • the spacer device can hinder the insertion by the elements of the spacer device protruding outward abutting the chamber wall end edges in the region of the plug-in opening of the chamber. But even if the contact area of the double flat spring contact is threaded, tilting of the double flat spring contact can cause the relatively sharp-edged elements of the spacing devices to abut the chamber walls and cause increased friction, so that they can be inserted of the double flat spring contact in a housing chamber of a connector housing, a relatively high insertion force may be required.
  • EP 0 352 871 A3 discloses a flat spring contact which has a conductor wire connection part and a contact part designed as a flat fork spring, the flat fork spring forming a U-shaped spring arm base with a base and two side walls.
  • a spring arm is connected to each side wall, extending forward, and these spring arms are bent from the two side walls to a contact line, converging towards one another and diverge from the contact line to form a funnel.
  • the flat spring contact is provided with a box-shaped spring which is held in a form-fitting manner on the flat fork spring and has spring arms which rest on the fork spring arms.
  • a box web is provided by the over-spring, on which the fork spring arms can be supported with their broad sides in the area of the finding funnel, so as to avoid over-bending of the fork spring arms.
  • This flat spring contact is not a double flat spring contact like the contact element described above. Thus, this flat spring contact also has no outwardly projecting stop devices, as mentioned in feature a) of claim 1.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a double flat spring contact in which the elements of the spacing device do not impede the insertion of the double flat spring contact into a housing chamber of a plug housing and which ensures a relatively low insertion force.
  • the double flat spring contact 1 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 with external spring 10 is electrical and is formed from a stamped sheet metal part.
  • the double flat spring contact 1 consists of an essentially U-shaped spring arm base 4 with two broad side walls 6 and an end wall 7.
  • a claw part with claw arms 8 is arranged on one side for attaching an electrical conductor wire, not shown.
  • On the other side of the spring arm base 4 are on connected to the front edges of the broad side walls 6, fork spring arms 3 converging in an arc shape, which in the culmination region of the arches form a contact region for a contact tongue, not shown, of a counter-contact.
  • protruding stop devices 2 are provided which keep the converging fork spring arms 3 at a certain distance.
  • the stop devices 2 consist of web or tab-shaped parts.
  • the outer spring 10 essentially consists of a box-shaped spring arm base 13 and a plurality of spring suspension arms 16 adjoining the broad side walls 15 thereof.
  • the spring arm base 13 of the outer spring spring 10 has two broad side walls 15 and two end face walls 14, the spring arm base 13 having the spring arm base 4 of the double spring contact 1 on all sides encloses.
  • a desired tight contact of the spring arm base 13 of the outer spring 10 on the spring arm base 4 of the double flat spring contact 1 is achieved by holding devices in the form of tabs 17.
  • two tabs 17 are formed in each of the side areas, which are bent inward by approximately 180 °, so that the spring arm base 13 is firmly connected to the spring arm base 4.
  • 10 skids 11 are provided on the end walls 14 of the spring arm base 13 of the outer over-spring 10 Cover anchor devices 2 from the outside.
  • a detent spring tongue 18 is punched out, which serve as clamping devices for the double flat spring contact 1 in a chamber of the connector housing 30 by being slightly bent outwards, such as this is shown in Fig. 2.
  • the skids 11 adjoin the end walls 14 of the spring arm base 13 in the direction of the plug housing 30, one skid 11 being provided for each end wall 14.
  • the spring fork arms 16 are connected to the broad side walls 15, namely two spring spring arms 16 per broad side wall 15.
  • the spring arm base 13 as well as the skids 11 and the spring fork arms 16 are formed in one piece.
  • the skids 11 it is the task of the skids 11 to cover the stop devices 2 of the double flat spring contact 1 in order to prevent jamming in the chamber of the connector housing 30. This is done in that the skids 11 extend in a straight line and flat to the spring arm base 13 and abut tightly against the stop devices 2. In order to bring about a better insertion of the double flat spring contact 1, the end regions of the spring fork arms 11 are bent inwards. The kinked areas are shown as bevels 12 and thus form a conical taper of the free end of the outer spring 10. With this conical taper, simple insertion of the double flat spring contact 1 into the corresponding chamber of the plug chamber housing 30 is ensured.
  • the spring fork arms 16 are also straight, but run obliquely inwards in order to rest against the free ends of the fork spring arms 3.
  • the oblique course of the spring fork arms 16 is produced in that the spring fork arms 16 are bent in their connection area to the spring arm base 13.
  • the kink 19 thus formed can be seen in FIG. 2.
  • the spring fork arms 16 are shorter.
  • the end or the end 20 of the spring fork arms 16 is located approximately at the level of the transition of the skids 11 from the straight course to the bevel 12.
  • the spring fork arms 16, which act from the outside against the fork spring arms 3 of the double flat spring contact 1, on the one hand ensure that the free ends of the fork spring arms 3 cannot get caught in the chamber of the connector housing 30.
  • the tension between the fork spring arms 3 necessary for receiving a counter-contact pin, not shown, is increased by the tight contact of the spring-loaded fork arms 16.
  • FIG. 3 shows a plan view of a skid 11, wherein the spring arm base 13 of the outer spring 10 adjoining the lower end of the skid 11 has been omitted.
  • the sliding skid 11 shown has a butt joint 21 in the middle in the longitudinal direction of the sliding skid 11, which also runs through the end wall 14, not shown, of the spring arm base 13 in a corresponding manner.
  • the butt seam 21 results from manufacturing reasons, since the outer spring 10 together with the skids 11 and the spring fork arms 16 are stamped in one piece from a sheet metal part.
  • the outer spring 10 receives its shape shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 by corresponding bending of the punched sheet metal part into a box-like shape.
  • a dovetail-shaped undercut recess 22 is provided on one edge of the butt seam 21, whereas on the other edge the butt seam 21 a correspondingly shaped tab 23 is formed.
  • the tab 23 is pressed into the recess 22, so that there is a firm connection or a positive fit of the tab 23 in the recess 22.
  • notches 24 are formed, which are bent inwards after the assembly of the outer spring 10 onto the double flat spring contact 1, in order to additionally enable a good connection of the outer spring 10 with the double flat spring contact 1.
