Definitions
- the present invention relates to a self-inductance coil comprising a winding of electric wire wound around a rectilinear core.
- a self-inductance coil is used to inject a low frequency current into a cable of a television distribution network, to power various devices.
- a coil intended for the application mentioned above has relatively large dimensions, since it must let through large currents (of the order of ten amps). Therefore parasitic capacitances, between each turn and also vis-à-vis the environment, are troublesome because they induce in the characteristic of the inductance many resonance frequencies located in the bandwidth of television signals. This can be combated by damping the resonances by means of damping resistors. It has been proposed for example to split the winding into several parts, a resistor being connected in parallel on each of these parts. However, this means is costly to implement.
- a coil according to the invention is remarkable in that it comprises a bar made of electrically resistive material which is placed between the winding and the core, the winding is produced in non-contiguous turns with a bare wire, and the wire is in contact with the bar.
- electrically resistive means that the material of the strip is neither insulating nor good conductor but between the two.
- the core comprises at least one cylindrical external part made of plastic material on the surface of which is formed a longitudinal groove in which the bar is placed, and the section of the latter is of such dimension, compared to that of the groove, a part of the bar protrudes outside the groove, so as to touch the winding wire.
- the plastic cylinder preferably contains at least one ferrite cylinder.
- the plastic cylinder advantageously has on its cylindrical outer surface a helical groove. This groove guides the wire during winding and keeps it in place afterwards.
- the bar is made for example of insulating material loaded with conductive powder, for example silicone loaded with carbon powder.
- the core according to the invention shown in Figure 1, consists of at least one ferrite cylinder 4 molded from a cylinder 1 made of plastic. On the surface of the latter is formed a longitudinal groove, for example of rectangular profile, in which is placed a bar 2 made of electrically resistive material and whose section, also rectangular, is of such dimension, compared to that of the groove , that part of the bar protrudes outside the throat.
- the section of FIG. 2 also shows a turn of winding wire 3, for example of tinned copper, surrounding the plastic cylinder 1. When passing over the bar 2, the wire 3 is pressed on the latter.
- the bar 2 is made for example of silicone loaded with a conductive powder made of carbon. It is easy to determine experimentally which resistivity is the most suitable.
- the plastic cylinder 1 has on its cylindrical outer surface a helical groove 5.
- This groove not only makes it possible to guide the wire during winding and to keep it in place afterwards, but it also ensures that the winding is carried out in non-contiguous turns. However, winding in non-contiguous turns could also be achieved without using this groove.
- the wire is bare, that is to say not covered with insulation, and each turn 3 touches the bar 2.
- the wire is pressed on the bar and sinks slightly, because the latter is made of a slightly elastic material.
- a resistor is connected in parallel on each turn of the coil and the damping is more effective, because the damping resistance is distributed.

Abstract
