- Lamps As output options to present values or results or to indicate conditions are scales, Lamps, light emitting diodes (LED) and liquid crystal displays (LCD) known. With increasing complexity here too the clarity decreases and increases the possibilities of misinterpretation.
- the invention has for its object a user interface for franking machines with low Creating effort that is the best mutual Adaptation between the operator and the Franking machines offers. Without using many input means the confusion is increased, should be arbitrary there are many function input options.
- the user interface for franking machines exists from ergonomic input and output means. Doing so extremely simple user guidance through a priority Placement of frequently used input functions in a display structure through optimal adjustment the input and output means to the sensory organs of the People and by coordinating the input and output means reached each other.
- the invention assumes that the operation of the Franking machines on one or more processes for Setting the parameters of individual input functions is based.
- a process basically consists of two steps, namely the selection of an input function and setting its parameters. For the first one Operating step is access to frequently used Input functions easier and for the second operating step the setting is based on a quick possible selection.
- the invention is further based on the consideration that it is necessary to consider the effects of the choice of function and setting the parameters immediately in easy understandable form. This can be done through a clear representation of the expected cliché in best reach with a single display. The Clear presentation takes place in the form: What you see is what you get (WYSIWYG).
- the user is closed by the solution according to the invention to make the operation as easy as possible. That means the user interface points the user to the individual operating steps or gives individual operating steps. Operating errors can be largely excluded if the user interface proposes only sensible operating steps. Right away after switching on is a start setting effective, which are subsequently changed in a targeted manner can. That is through a programmable normal adaptive Configuration or through an auto-adaptive configuration the input function in the display structure reached.
- One advantage of the user interface according to the invention is it that the franking process is carried out at all times can be. You only need the necessary settings to be carried out, if with one opposite changed the basic setting or cannot be franked with the previous setting should. All settings made are saved. An additional deletion option for the value setting is superfluous by the way the Setting the parameters by selecting predetermined setting positions. The number of Input elements is greatly reduced. With that the Clarity of input options increased. At the same time, the number of input functions and Setting options can be chosen arbitrarily large.
- a big advantage of the user interface is the extreme Flexibility. Not only individual parts of the Representation can be changed, but also functions added, deleted, integrated or shown differently become. There is a customization easily possible through software change, also in terms of on foreign language representation. User friendly is above all the clear representation of the cliché. The actual complexity is determined by a corresponding Software reached. When developing was on careful software engineering and sufficient large and expandable memory area.

- a result of this evaluation of data can be the automatic adaptation of the user interface to the needs depending on the area of application of the user.
- a statistical phase in which the normal or adaptive configuration only data for reconfiguration be determined, and a configuration phase to create the reconfiguration.
- each cost center is considered individually, when the data is stored in a storage area 115 become.
- the individual functions have different priority, or frequency of execution.
- a software module (car adapter 116) evaluate the execution of individual functions. Poses the car adapter 116 finds that a function very often running that is established at a deep level can be reconfigured. To do this, the position of the function concerned with that swapped a function that is not used as often becomes.
- the control for the reconfiguration takes place through that in a memory area of a memory or control data stored by means of 112, due to a in a memory 117 of the means 107 stored display structure and due to one in one Rank 120 cached rank order of the input functions.
- Level 4 is in a defined, evaluated time period in the representation 4.0 the function of field 3 been used very often, which is indicated by a + sign and the function in level 2.0 of field 2 of representation 2.0 least used been identified by a sign has been.
- the postage meter shows in known Way a start and an initialization routine as well performing user identification.
- a cost center is assigned to the user.
- field 2 of the fourth level of the Face 4.0 display exists first with the normal / adaptive assignment a possible change in this regard, if no normal / adaptive assignment last had been discontinued.
- the display Face 4.2 is called, around a flag for normal / adaptive mapping put.
- Another possibility is in field 1 in Face 4.0 if after calling the "Service" function the security code has been entered. So leave normal / adaptive assignments for each cost center set differently. Is a flag 113 on normal or adaptive assignment, the reconfiguration Although determined, it remains in the operating mode still ineffective. If the flag is set to reconfiguration, the reconfiguration takes effect.
- the operating mode Configuration data in the working memory 112 accepted. These relate to those in the memory 117 saved display structure in all display levels, within those under the control of the programmable By means of 107 for configuration and by means of of the first selection means 108 from an input function to the next one.
- the single Fields of the Face 1.0 display are functions of dispatch type, Advertising slogan, date and postage value assigned. Value tables associated with these functions transferred from the permanent memory to the main memory.
- the memory will now be in input mode the required input data is taken over, whereby one counter each for the selected functions or set a flag for the selected functions and also with correspondingly set table values set a counter or set a flag becomes.
- a table value is set the acknowledgment signal Q to advance a counter for function selection or setting one Flags.
- the acknowledgment also causes decompression of cliché data and their preparation as well as the insertion of additional from input data generated graphic pixels in data processing mode and a partial display of the data previously set as well as in the context of user guidance through the user interface also the other input options in display mode.
- the last acknowledgment signal of an input routine causes in statistics mode next to error registration also the beginning of the statistics phase. This is done the transfer of each function code to an acknowledged and used function to a corresponding register R1.
- the corresponding register is selected in Dependency on the cost center via a demultiplexer D.
- Register R1 is together with other registers R for all functions in a special of the cost center a assigned and used for statistics Memory area A assigned. In this The working memory area becomes that during the franking process Continuing to count each frequency counter Hx causes which is assigned to a function x used for franking is. Counts of frequency counters Ay, assigned to an unused function, are not increased. The counter readings thus correspond the frequency with which functions are used.
- the number of frankings can also be assigned to each cost center or operating hours in another separate Counter Z are counted and monitored. Will be a for the separate counter and separately for each cost center preset limit is reached, all Counts of the frequency counter H to a cost center a reduced by one bit and a signal Ü to the Car adapter sent.
- the evaluation is carried out by simultaneous upward and / or counting down the counter readings, the first Reaching a preset limit of one of the frequency counters a top first rank and counting the meter readings and reaching them the limit value by another frequency counter a second rank signals.
- the code of the related Function with the first rank is from the car adapter 116 from the register R of the working memory area A adopted and according to the ranking in one of n memory areas are stored in the rank memory 120. In the same way, the code is ranked deeper functions taken before all frequency counters be reset.
- the car adapter 116 now calculates that for level two Display structure a variant for a new configuration with four input functions each according to the Ranking for the four fields per face in each display the level.
- a very common change the stored data for a reconfiguration can be prevented by threshold values.
- This Threshold values can be used as limit values for the frequency counters H and the operating time or franking number counter Z can be specified.
- the invention is not based on the present embodiment limited as there are obviously others Arrangements or designs of the transmission means and the receiving means are developed or used can.
