Definitions
- the invention relates to a composite profile made of two metal profile parts and two plastic insulating webs connecting these parts to one another, which are held in grooves in the metal profile parts, the insides of the metal profile parts and the plastic insulating webs delimiting a continuously extending chamber of essentially rectangular cross section in the longitudinal direction of the composite profile and into the chamber a hollow profile made of heat-insulating plastic is introduced, the outer sides of which lie essentially flush with the inner sides of the metal profile parts and the plastic insulating webs.
- Such a composite profile is known from DE-PS 12 14 375 (Fig. 5).
- the continuous plastic tube arranged in the chamber in the known profile is neither closed on the end face nor has intermediate walls. It is also not evacuated and is not filled with a poorly heat-conducting gas. With this composite profile there is no protection against heat-transporting convection currents in the chamber.
- DE-GM 80 12 220 discloses a hollow profile which can be plugged together from relatively short sections and has transverse partition walls.
- this hollow profile replaces the plastic insulating webs between the metal parts of the composite profile, so it is not an additional hollow profile.
- the partitions do not seal the entire interior of the hollow profile, but they are arranged including an end wall at a distance from the upper and lower boundaries of the hollow profile so as to form continuous channels through which Flush liquid can flow through.
- the walls of the hollow profile enclose "air chambers", ie no evacuated rooms.
- the object is achieved in that the hollow profile is closed at the end and the inner cavity of the hollow profile is evacuated or filled with a gas having a lower thermal conductivity than air and is divided into individual sections by transverse walls running transversely to the longitudinal direction.
- FIG. 1 shows a composite profile suitable, for example, for the production of windows, doors, facade elements or the like, which can have a length of 6 m or more and is broken down into correspondingly shorter sections for the production of a window.
- the composite profile 1 comprises an inner metal profile part 2 and an outer metal profile part 3, both made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, for example.
- the two metal profile parts 2, 3 are connected to one another by longitudinal plastic insulating webs 4, 5, for example made of glass fiber reinforced polyamides.
- the plastic insulating webs 4, 5 form a heat-insulating bridge between the metal profile parts 2, 3.
- the plastic insulating webs 4, 5 protrude with their dovetail-shaped ends 6 in cross-section into appropriately designed, longitudinal grooves 7 of the metal profile parts 2, 3, in which they are held by appropriate rolling of the wall limbs 8 delimiting these grooves.
- a chamber 9 running continuously in the longitudinal direction of the composite profile is formed between the inside of the metal profile parts 2, 3 and the plastic insulating webs 4, 5.
- the chamber 9 is normally filled with air, so that when the metal profile parts 2, 3 have different temperatures, disturbing convection currents can occur in it, which transport heat back and forth between the metal profile parts 2, 3. This is highly undesirable if, for example, a window frame is made from the composite profile 1 because heat losses can then occur from the inside to the outside of the window.
- a hollow profile 11, which is closed at the end, is continuously introduced into this chamber Outside is essentially flush with the inside of the metal profile parts 2, 3 and the plastic insulating webs 4, 5.
- an end closure wall 12, which is set back somewhat from the interface of the composite profile is partially indicated by dash-dotted lines.
- a corresponding closure wall is also provided on the back of the composite profile 1 (not shown in FIG. 1).
- the inner cavity of the hollow profile 11, which is closed at the end, is evacuated. This prevents the formation of heat-transporting convection flows in the interior of the hollow profile 11, so that no heat compensation between the metal profile parts 2 and 3 can take place as a result.
- the generation of the vacuum in the inner cavity of the hollow profile 11 can take place, for example, in that a corresponding hole is made in the closure wall 12 and is connected to a vacuum pump. After the vacuum is created, this hole is sealed.
- a hollow profile 11 provided with intermediate walls 13 can be extruded in a conventional manner and evacuated simultaneously or immediately thereafter.
- FIG. 2 shows a partial cross-sectional view of the composite profile 1 from FIG. 1 with components of the composite profile that have not yet been attached to one another.
- Fig. 2 which also shows an intermediate wall 13 in plan view, that the wall legs 8, which delimit the grooves 7 in the metal profile parts 2, 3, still protrude outwards in the opposite direction as in Fig. 1, so that the plastic insulating webs 4, 5 with their dovetailed ends are easily inserted into the grooves 7, for example can be drawn in lengthwise.
- the preformed hollow profile 11 is loosely inserted between the metal profile parts 2, 3 and the plastic insulating webs 4, 5, for example also inserted lengthways. If, starting from the state of the composite profile shown in FIG.
- the outer wall legs 8 are bent inwards by rolling or pressing, the metal profile parts 2, 3 and the plastic insulating webs 4, 5 are thereby firmly and positively clamped together, thereby the hollow profile 11 also experiences a tight fit in the chamber 9, the outer side of the hollow profile 11 being essentially flush with the inner sides of the metal profile parts 2, 3 and the plastic insulating webs 4, 5. This state is shown in Fig. 3.
- the cross-sectional area of the hollow profile 11 can also be designed somewhat larger than the cross-sectional area of the chamber 9, so that the hollow profile 11 is clamped non-positively into the composite profile 1 when the wall legs 8 are rolled on.
- the hollow profile 11 with its intermediate walls 13 is laterally firmly connected to the plastic insulating webs 4, 5, for example by gluing or welding.
- the plastic insulating webs 4, 5 and the hollow profile 11 form a prefabricated component.
- the hollow profile 111 to be introduced into the chamber 9 of the composite profile 1 is composed of relatively short, cuboid, hollow sections 15, on each of which a transverse partition 16 is formed.
- the individual sections 15 are stepped at their one end, which is adjacent to the intermediate wall 16, so that they can each be inserted into a section 15 preceding in the longitudinal direction. If desired, the individual sections 15 can be mutually sealed with the aid of seals 17 will.
- the individual cavities 18 of the hollow profile 111 formed by the assembly of the sections 15 one behind the other can be evacuated, for example in the manner described above. If a composite profile 1 with a length of, for example, 6 to 8 m contains a hollow profile 111 according to FIG.
- FIG. 7 basically corresponds to that from FIG. 6.
- the sections 15 assembled to form a hollow profile 211 have additional ones at the opposite ends apart from the intermediate wall 16 arranged in the vicinity of the step Partitions 19 on, so that each section 15 can be evacuated by itself, even in the state not yet assembled to form the hollow profile 211.
- the hollow profile 211 is thus composed of sections evacuated from the outset.
- FIG. 8 shows a diagram of a further embodiment, in which an adhesive 21 is provided on those outer side surfaces of a hollow profile 311 that come into contact with the inner sides of the metal profile parts 2, 3 or the plastic insulating webs 4, 5 when inserted into the chamber 9 of the composite profile 1 upset is that reacts to pressure, moisture, or heat and is also foamable if necessary.
- the hollow profile 311 has on its outer sides longitudinal grooves 22, into which the adhesive 21 is introduced.
- the hollow profile 311 evacuated in the manner described can be firmly glued into the chamber 9 of the composite profile 1.
- the hollow chamber profiles 11, 111, 211, 311 are evacuated to avoid a heat-transporting convection flow.
- a gas with the lowest possible thermal conductivity into the normally evacuated inner cavities of these hollow profiles. This also largely reduces the heat transport by convection flow.
- gases are e.g. Xenon, krypton, bromine, all of which have a lower thermal conductivity than air.
- the hollow profile 11, 111, 211, 311 can also be covered with metal, e.g. Aluminum foil to be coated. As a result, heat radiation between the metal profile parts 2, 3 is reduced as a result of reflection.
- metal e.g. Aluminum foil to be coated.
- stiffening webs 31, 32 are formed in the (evacuated) hollow profile 11, the outer ones absorb the pressure acting on the profile 11 and prevent the profile 11 from collapsing.
- Such stiffening webs 31, 32 can also be provided for the hollow profiles 111, 211 and 311.
