Definitions

  • the invention relates to a toe piece according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a front jaw is described for example in EP-A2 408 855.
  • the known front jaw has a rear transverse wall, the surface on which the bearing part is supported runs in different planes.
  • the transverse wall in the upper and lower end region has inclined sections which take place at differently large angles, so that a tight fit of the bearing part against the transverse wall is not possible in a relatively large area.
  • the known front jaw has a back and down curved surface of the bearing part, which, however, cannot fulfill a limiting function for the pivoting movement of the bearing part.
  • both the relief of the angle lever with upward forces and the release movement of the jaw takes place in the event of a reverse rotation by tilting the bearing part relative to the jaw housing.
  • the sole hold-down is adapted to the respective shoe sole thickness by moving the bearing part along the rear transverse wall of the shoe housing, with inclined surfaces being additionally formed on the housing and bearing part for this purpose.
  • the bearing part has in its lower section a rearward projection which is supported on the vertical bar (release plate). This ensures safe power transmission for the overall function of the toe piece during a triggering process.
  • the front support wall of the bearing part has two sections adjoining one another in the height direction, the lower section and the upper section enclosing an obtuse angle with one another. This creates a tipping edge around which the bearing part can be pivoted to adapt to the sole of the shoe.
  • the invention has set itself the goal of remedying this situation and, in the case of a toe of the type mentioned at the outset, to design the mechanism for the automatic adaptation of the toe to the respective shoe sole thickness in such a way that as little friction as possible occurs.
  • the embodiment according to the features of claim 2 allows a further pivoting of the bearing part for the release of the binding after exhausting the tilting movement possible by the tilting edge.
  • FIG. 1 shows the front jaw partially torn open
  • FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the front jaw in the ready-to-start position of the ski binding, with an indicated ski boot
  • FIG. 3 shows a representation like FIG. 2, with an inserted ski boot, with a thicker one Sole
  • FIG. 4 the same view with the sole holder pivoted a little more
  • FIG. 5 the binding with the sole holder pivoted to the maximum
  • FIGS. 6 and 7 a partial view from the rear, the binding in FIG. 6 in the rest position and in FIG. 7 to the side is shown pivoted upwards.
  • the front jaw 1 is shown in the position ready for entry. It has a housing 2, which is fastened to a ski 50 by means of only indicated screws 51.
  • a release spring 40 is housed, the bias of which can be adjusted in a known manner by an adjusting device 43.
  • the release spring 40 is arranged between a spring plate 41 and, with the interposition of a bearing bush 42, a vertically running rear transverse wall 3 of the housing 2.
  • the release spring 40 is penetrated in the axial direction by a pull rod 10, one end 11 of which cooperates with the adjusting device 43 and the other end 12 of which is connected to a substantially vertically extending release plate 13.
  • the trigger plate 13 has at its lower end 14 a control surface 15 directed towards the ski tip and a stop 16 pointing in the direction of the shoe 60.
  • a first curve 5 closes at the top of the vertically running rear transverse wall 3 of the housing 2 and at it Section 6 running horizontally to the rear.
  • the bearing part 20 is frame-shaped when viewed from the rear, that is to say provided with a through opening 21 for the pull rod 10, and has — viewed in side view — approximately the shape of a C.
  • the vertically extending section of the C is formed by the support wall 22 and has a front Support surface 23 and a rear support surface 24 equipped.
  • two axes 34 for angle levers 35 are arranged symmetrically to the longitudinal central axis of the toe piece 2.
  • the shorter lever arms 36 of the two angle levers 35 are supported on the one hand on the release plate 13 and on the other hand on the rear support surface 24 of the bearing part 20.
  • the longer lever arms of the angle lever 35 are designed as sole holders 37 for contacting the sole 61 of the ski boot 60, which is only indicated in the drawing.
  • the front support surface 23 of the bearing part 20 has two sections adjoining one another in the vertical direction, the lower section 25, viewed in the ready-to-enter position of the front jaw 2, abutting on the rear side 4 of the rear transverse wall 3 of the housing 2.
  • the upper section 26 forms an obtuse angle ⁇ with the lower section 25. Between the upper section 26 and the lower section 25, the bearing part 20 has a tilting edge 27.
  • the upper leg 32 of the bearing part 20 is provided in the section of the longitudinal central axis with a surface 28 which is inclined towards the rear and downwards.
  • the transition between the upper section 26 of the front support surface 23 and the surface 28 which is inclined backwards and downwards is designed as a further curve 29.
  • the bearing part 20 is fork-shaped in the area of the longitudinal central axis in plan view and has a recess 30 which is open towards the front and a projection 31 which is directed towards the rear.
  • the recess 30 is a corresponding wedge-like projection 7 assigned to the housing 2.
  • a travel limiter 8 facing the stop 16 of the release plate 13 is also arranged on the housing 2.
  • the bearing part 20 tilts, as can be seen in FIG. 3, slightly counterclockwise around the tipping edge 27.
  • the trigger spring 40 is compressed slightly.
  • the bearing part 20 with the angle levers 35 automatically returns to the starting position after the ski shoe 60 has been removed, and it is possible to use ski shoes with a thicker or thinner sole without any additional manipulation.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 show how the bearing part 20 and the angle lever 35 are pivoted in the event of an upward increased force, for example in the event of a backward fall or backward turn fall.
  • the bearing part 20 is pivoted further about the tilting edge 27 against the force of the release spring 40.
  • the release plate 13 detaches itself from the shorter lever arms 36 of the angle lever 35. This initially enables the angle lever 35 to be pivoted without force for a sideways release.
  • the wedge-shaped design of the projection 7 in cooperation with the recess 30 allows the bearing part 20 to pivot laterally (see FIGS. 6, 7). An excessive pivoting up of the sole holder 37 and thus an undesired release of the ski boot 60 is avoided in that the pivoting path of the bearing part 20 is limited by the impact of the stop 16 of the release plate 13 on the travel limiter 8.
