Abstract

The Florentine blind with articulated arms according to the invention takes into account the mechanical loading which increases with an increasing blind width and extension length. Whilst retaining proven arrangements as a roll-up safeguard, the articulated parts have an angular position relative to one another which can easily be set by a mechanic. A threaded bolt (27) is proposed which has two threaded portions (28, 29) running in opposite directions which are provided, on the one hand, in the holding arm (12) and, on the other hand, in a part of a stop dish (6) mounted in an articulated manner relative thereto. The threaded bolt (27) passes through a tilting joint (22) which can be pivoted between said two parts, such that the forces to be absorbed have only a very small spacing from the pivot axis (13, 10). This considerably reduces the torque to be absorbed. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to an articulated arm awning according to the type specified in claim 1.

Such articulated arm awnings are known according to DE-OS 28 53 286 prior art. In the retracted state, the awning is received in a box attached to the wall or the like, which is too open towards the front or is easy to open in order to allow the awning to extend. For the purpose, the angle of inclination by which the awning should be inclined to the house wall is first set on the articulated arm bearings. This is done with an adjustable screw bolt, which is articulated on a holding arm and is pivotable and non-rotatable. A stop nut screwed onto its free end is set to the intended value so that the tilt joint can come into contact with the screw nut in accordance with the intended inclination angle. At the same time, the adjusting screw with the stop nut forms part of an anti-roll-up device that is intended to prevent the awning from being raised unintentionally. In the prior art, this purpose is served by an additional locking bolt which slides between the tilt joint and the stop nut when the extension of the awning, more precisely the unfolding of the articulated arms, exceeds a predetermined dimension. For this purpose, the locking bolt is connected to the tilt joint and is then controlled into a locking position by the latter. A rod is provided for the connection, which must correspond to high loads under tension and pressure and can easily jam in the event of deflections, for example under high loads. In addition, the stop nut has only a very small stop surface, so that damage cannot be avoided in larger systems even during normal operation.

To remedy these disadvantages, DE-PS 34 24 111 provides a heavier construction, in which the lifting means are designed as a stop shell, which serves to limit the tilt, and which is overlapped by the fork parts of the fork head when the articulated arm is folded out. This creates a lock as soon as the articulated arms unfold in the direction of their inclination, in which position an upward stroke is effectively prevented. In this case, the presetting of the angle of inclination makes it necessary to adjust the stop shell, for which purpose it is provided with two set screws which pass through an arched guide of the holding arm and, due to the screw connection, assume a clamp fit on the holding arm. In addition, a fine adjustment is used to absorb the transverse forces of the awning movement. However, the clamping screws and the means for fine adjustment are less suitable for larger awnings that are more than six meters wide. In addition, the adjustment of the angle of inclination requires two mechanics, one of whom can make the adjustment by operating the screw bolts, while the other holds the awning up until the screwing mechanism takes effect.

Starting from the state of the art described in the introduction, the invention is based on the object of being able to absorb the forces arising when using the awning more effectively by means of an improved construction. The high-impact protection should also remain part of the joint parts.

The invention solves this problem by the suggestions made in the claims.

In this way, the slings are themselves developed into a component, the movement of which is predetermined by the control of its joint. The range of motion is predetermined by more or less screwing in or unscrewing the screw bolt provided with opposite threaded sections. The use according to the prior art of a locking bolt with a connecting rod to the tilt joint is in the embodiment according to the invention in which the stop means must have a bearing parallel to the tilt joint axis, so that the stop means must be more solid for this reason alone.

In the event of a load, the forces which occur are effectively absorbed, the screwed-in screw bolt ensuring an unchangeable position of the lifting means in relation to the holding arm.

In the new embodiment, the sling means are designed as stop shells, on which articulated sleeves of the fork heads of the articulated arms are supported. In this known as such according to DE-PS 34 24 111 design of the sling means overlap the legs of the clevises the stop shells, while there is a gap between the joint sleeve and the clevis for the penetration of the stop shell with increasing unfolding of the articulated arms. The stop shell which serves to limit the tilt thus forms an effective locking when unfolded, in which position the awning is effectively prevented from being raised. The parts mentioned can only be pivoted in relation to one another, so that the constructional difficulties associated with displacement movements are eliminated.

The innovation presented above allows the safe operation of awnings with a width of more than 6 m, the extension length at for example, can also be 3.50 m. The newly proposed adjusting means in the form of the screw connection having the opposite thread also eliminates the tensions that otherwise occur due to transverse forces, which the fine adjustment of the known embodiment could no longer take into account. In addition, the invention allows the adjusting forces to be transmitted in closer proximity to the bearing, so that correspondingly lower moments result. Rather, the force of the adjustment movements is introduced by the screw bolt running transversely to the cloth roll, for which there are two lines of action, one of which acts in the longitudinal direction of the screw bolt, whereas the other is caused by a locking screw acting radially on the screw bolt. The two axes for the threaded bushes of the screw bolt run parallel to each other with a lateral distance. Actuation of the bolt causes the axes to approach or move apart.

By means of the proposed screw bolt it is possible without difficulty to have adjustments made by a single mechanic, who then only has to set a screw bolt which is expediently adjustable by means of a hexagon socket. The previously used, non-positive connection by clamping screw bolts is improved according to the invention by the positive locking of the screw bolt. The forces that can be absorbed can be more than doubled through the new development.

The threaded bushings provided for the screw bolts are, in particular, cylindrical disks in bores of the holding arm and the stop shell which can be pivoted parallel to the tilting axis, the threads being cut into them perpendicular to their axes.

The bolt, which should be relatively close to the tilt axis in the interest of low moments, does not impair the function of the tilt joint, especially since, according to a further feature of the invention, it passes through the block of the tilt joint in a suitable opening between the holding arm and the lifting means, so that the tilt joint between them both parts remains freely pivotable.

To further illustrate the invention, reference is made to the drawings which schematically illustrate an exemplary embodiment.

Darin zeigen:

  • Figur 1 einen Querschnitt durch den Markisenkasten,
  • Figur 2 das Kippgelenk mit dem Gelenkarmende,
  • Figur 3 eine Draufsicht auf die Anschlagschale und
  • Figur 4 eine seitliche Darstellung der Anschlagschale.
In it show:
  • FIG. 1 shows a cross section through the awning box,
  • FIG. 2 the tilt joint with the end of the articulated arm,
  • Figure 3 is a plan view of the stop shell and
  • Figure 4 is a side view of the stop shell.

The awning housing according to FIG. 1 provides for attachment to a wall on the left side, so that its right side remains open for extending the awning. In the upper part of the awning box the cloth roll, not shown here, is housed, whereas the lower part of the awning box carries the holding arm 12. The latter closes at the front with two bores 14 and 15 for receiving the threaded bush 24 and for mounting the stop shell 6 with the pivot axis 13.

The threaded bushing 24 corresponds to a threaded bushing 25 in the stop shell 6, both of which have oppositely directed threaded bores. The threaded sections 28 and 29 of the screw bolt 27 engage in this, so that when it is actuated, for example by means of an internal hexagon, the pivoting distance between the holding arm 12 and the stop shell 6 is reduced. The joint sleeve 3 of the pivot axis 16 lies in the end position of the folded-out articulated arms 26 in the stop shell 6. The joint sleeve 3 is part of the tilt joint 22, as can be seen in Figure 2. There is the tilt axis 10, about which the tilt joint 22 can tilt, and which runs coaxially with the pivot axis 13 of the stop shell 6. The threaded portion 29 of the screw bolt 27 is still subject to the action of a locking screw 17 which can be screwed into the threaded bushing 25 in the axial direction thereof.

The tilt joint 22 can be pivoted freely between the holding arm 12 and the stop shell 6 in the manner already described. It is penetrated by the screw bolt 27, for which purpose the elongated opening 30 shown in FIG. 2 exists. This shape of the opening 30 allows the bolt 27 to assume the pivoting positions resulting from a more or less deep engagement in the threaded bushings 24 and 25.

The joint sleeve 3 engages between the legs of the fork head 2 at the end 1 of the articulated arm, so that a free gap 4 still remains. This free gap 4 is initially still free when the awning is retracted. When the articulated arms 26 are extended, this gap approaches the stop shell 6 shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. As can be seen above all in FIG. 4, the stop shell 6 has a trough-like shape, so that it can intercept the joint sleeve 3 and limit its movement. Above a certain extent of the articulation of the joint, the edge of the stop shell is increasingly inserted into the gap 4 of the fork head, the outer shape 5 being such is crooked that a soft process takes place. This guidance is also supported by a corresponding rounding 7 of the trough-shaped depression, as can be seen from FIG. 3. As soon as there is such a position between the tilt joint and the stop shell, the position of the articulated arms 26 is locked so that, in particular, the open awning cannot swing up. Rather, the web of the fork head comes to a stop with such a movement on the rear side of the stop shell 6, which limits the further movement upwards. The limitation of the angle of inclination of the articulated arms 26 presupposes the accessibility of the screw bolt 27 from the outside. For this purpose, the stop shell 6 is designed in the axial direction of the screw bolt 27 with an opening 31 through which, in particular, an Allen key can be inserted which can engage the head of the screw bolt 27.
