Description

The invention relates to a tilting joint for awnings or the like, with a holder which is tiltably mounted on a carrier and which carries a swivel joint for a raising arm and has a stop surface and a retaining surface for a stop element fastened to the carrier and limiting the tendency of the awning to fail, the Retaining surface is arranged on a retaining element designed as a sliding part, which is arranged on the holder so as to be tensile in the failure direction and movable transversely to the failure direction and can be actuated by the deployment arm.

From DE-C2-27 52 872 a tilting joint is known in which the stop element together with the stop surface on the one hand limits the tendency of the awning to fall out and on the other hand forms an anti-roll-up device with the retaining surface which prevents the extended, forward-inclined awning from lifting up. When the awning fabric is wound up and the hinged extension arms are retracted, the stop element caught in a recess in the holder is lifted by a conical pin which is actuated by an inwardly pivoting extension arm. The drop profile strip, to which the front edge of the awning cloth is attached, can then pivot together with the extension arms from their inclined position into a vertical position, so that the drop profile bar with the awning linkage is flush with the front edge of the awning box when the awning is retracted and protected from the weather beneath it Roof is housed.

In this known tilting joint, the stop element is a retaining nut screwed onto a threaded rod, which can only engage with an edge in the recess in the holder and is therefore stressed in the middle. As a result, a high bending moment is exerted on the threaded rod in the opposite direction from the stop surface on the one hand and the retaining surface on the holding nut on the threaded rod forming the holding element, by means of which the holding element is highly stressed in the large number of load cycles generated by wind. In addition, the thread of the retaining nut, which is only loaded at one edge, is deformed and damaged after a short time, so that an adjustment of the tendency to failure by turning the retaining nut is no longer possible after a relatively short period of use.

Another disadvantage of this known high-impact protection is that the holding nut serving as a stop element can only be adjusted when the holder is in its vertical position and the stop element has been lifted out of its recess. In this position, however, the drop profile strip lies in front of the stop element and hides it. It is therefore necessary to raise the drop profile strip if the awning's inclination to drop is to be adjusted.

From FR-24 43 543 a tilt joint according to the preamble of claim 1 is known, in which the retaining element is designed as an approximately cuboid sliding part, which has a V-shaped locking bolt with two fork legs on its narrow end facing the stop element lay off-center against the stop element and thereby also load the threaded rod carrying the stop element with high bending moments with the disadvantageous consequences already described. But also the retaining element itself is only loaded on one side in this known tilt joint and can bend, so that it can no longer reliably slide back and forth in its guidance, but becomes jammed in it after a short period of use, making it difficult to retract and extend the awning , if not completely prevented.

The object of the invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to design the high-impact protection in a tilt joint according to the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that, on the one hand, the stop element, both in its holding function and in its high-impact safety function, and the retaining element are loaded essentially centrally, that the function of the high-impact protection can easily be checked from the outside and an adjustment of the tendency to failure is possible in a simple manner even in the inclined position of the awning.

This object is achieved with the invention in that the sliding part has a C-shaped cross section and engages with its end flanges the head part of a T-shaped guide rail formed on the holder.

This configuration has the advantage that when the awning is extended after the holder has been tilted forward, the stop element is not only loaded in the center, but is also locked in the tilted position of the holder by simply advancing the sliding part. Since the sliding part transfers the forces and moments acting on it evenly via its two end flanges onto the guide rail, it is loaded evenly and can practically not deform, so that there is no jamming between the sliding part and the guide rail when the awning is extended and retracted. When retracting the awning, the pivoting extension arm pushes the sliding part to the side, so that the stop element can come out of the front of the holder and pivot it into its vertical position with the awning linkage.

It is particularly expedient if the retaining element engaging behind the holder is displaceably displaceable in front of the latter and has on its inside the retaining surface with which it can cover or release a recess in the holder for the stop element provided with the stop surface.

The stop element which is completely accommodated in the recess of the holder when the awning is inclined is removed from the stop surface not only centrally loaded, but also completely covered by the retaining element towards the front, which prevents the awning from lifting up and transmits the effective compressive forces centrally to the stop element.

As is known per se, the stop element can be axially adjustable on an elongate holding element which is fastened to the carrier and passes axially movably through an opening in the holder. In this case, the sliding part expediently has a slot which extends in its direction of movement and is open at the edge, the width of which is somewhat larger than the diameter of the elongated holding element. The slot allows the sliding part to be advanced in front of the stop element even if it has been axially adjusted on the holding element to such an extent that the holding element projects forward over the stop element, since this protruding part can then enter the slot of the sliding part.

The elongated holding element can be a threaded rod which is pivotally mounted at one end on the holder and on the other, free end of which a screw nut is screwed on as a stop element, which fits into the recess in the holder with ample play so that it is connected to the outside with a Socket wrench can be turned. As a result, the tendency to failure can also be adjusted when the awning is extended after the sliding part has been pushed aside and the recess in the holder in which the screw nut of the stop element is located has been exposed.

It is particularly expedient if the sliding part can be actuated by the deployment arm via a disengagement device which determines its length of movement and is urged into its effective position by a spring element. Here, the disengaging device can have a spring-loaded threaded plunger which passes through the holder in an axially movable manner, is screwed into the sliding part and is acted upon by the deployment arm at its free head end. Such a construction is simple and easily adjustable and always works perfectly at high and low temperatures.

In the drawings, 10 is an extension arm awning, which is fastened with brackets 11 to the wall 12 of a building, not shown. The brackets 11 carry a profile carrier 13 with a rectangular cross section, at the ends of which carriers 14 for the awning holders 15 are clamped and secured with screws 16. The two holders 15 at the ends of the profile carrier 13 each carry an inner extension arm 17 which is articulated approximately in the middle of the awning with an outer extension arm 21. Each holder 15 is tiltably mounted on the carrier 14 with a horizontal tilt axis 18 and bears on it in the side of the drawing, not shown, facing the other holder, a swivel joint 19, about the pivot axis 20 of which the inner extension arm 17 mounted on the holder 15 can pivot. The unit consisting of the tiltable holder 15 and the swivel joint 19, with the parts arranged thereon, which will be described below, is referred to below as the "swivel joint" 22.

It can be seen that the awning 10 has a tilt joint 22 on each side, which are of identical design in mirror image. Therefore, only the left tilt joint shown in the drawings is described below.

The free end of the outer extension arm 21 is articulated on a drop profile strip 23, to the edge profile 24 of which the awning fabric 25 is fastened, which is wound up on a fabric shaft 26 when the awning is retracted. The fabric shaft 26 is supported with stands 27 on the brackets 11 and is rotatably driven by a drive, not shown here, in order to wind up the awning fabric 25 on the fabric shaft or to unwind it.

As can be seen from the drawings, the holder 15 of the tilting joint 22 has at its lower edge two claws 28 with which it engages around the support 14 at the lower edge and in which the tilting axis 18, which passes through the support 14, is located.

Above the tilting axis 18 there is a bore 29 in the carrier 14, which runs parallel to the tilting axis 18 and in which there is a bearing pin 30 on which one end 31 of an elongate holding element 32 is mounted is. This elongated holding element 32 is in the form of a threaded rod, at one end 31 of which there is an eye 33 which is arranged in an open-ended recess 34 in the center of the carrier 14 and can pivot about the bearing pin 30 which is inserted through the eye 33 . The other, free end 35 of the elongated holding element 32 penetrates an opening 36 in the holder 15 in an axially movable manner and carries at its end a stop element 37 which has the shape of a screw nut which is screwed onto the holding element 32 designed as a threaded rod. The screw nut 37 fits with ample play in an outwardly open recess 38 in the holder 15 that it can be rotated on the threaded rod 32 from the outside with a suitable tool, for example a socket wrench, not shown. The depth of the recess 38 corresponds approximately to the thickness of the stop element 37 in the axial direction of the elongated holding element, so that the stop element 37 is completely in the recess 38 when it rests with its end face 39 facing the carrier 14 on a stop surface 40 which is from the Base area is formed in the deepest of the recess 38.

In the left half of the holder 15 shown in FIGS. 4 and 6, a retaining element 41 is arranged, which is designed as a sliding element and is adapted to the holder 15 in its outer contour 42. Otherwise, the retaining element 41 designed as a sliding part has an approximately C-shaped cross section and, with its end flanges 43 and 44, engages around a T-shaped guide rail 45 formed in the left half of the holder 15, in the head part 46 of which the open-ended recess 38 is arranged, in which the stop element 37 is located (Fig. 5).

In dieser Lage bildet die innere Grundfläche des C-förmigen Ausschnittes des Schiebeteiles, die auf der vorderen Stirnfläche des Kopfteiles 46 des Halters 15 entlanggleitet, eine Rückhaltefläche 51 für das Anschlagelement 37, welches bei vor die Ausnehmung 38 geschobenem Rückhalteelement 41 in der Ausnehmung 38 gefangen ist (Fig. 5 und 6).4 so that the retaining element 41 designed as a sliding part can be pushed to the right in the direction of arrow 47 on the guide rail 45 of the holder 15 in FIG. 4 until its right end face 48 abuts the opposite left end face 49 of the holder 15 41 a slot 50 which extends in its direction of movement 47 and is open at the edge on its right end face 48, the width b of which is slightly larger than the diameter d of the elongated holding element 32 which is designed as a threaded rod and in the area of which the slot 50 is arranged. The front, free end 35 of the elongated retaining element 32 can thereby enter the slot 50 of the retaining element 41 when it is pushed in front of the recess 38 in the holder 15. In this position, the inner base surface of the C-shaped cutout of the sliding part, which slides along the front end face of the head part 46 of the holder 15, forms a retaining surface 51 for the stop element 37, which is caught in the recess 38 when the retaining element 41 is pushed in front of the recess 38 is (Figs. 5 and 6).

In order to move the retaining element 41 in front of the recess 38 in the holder 15 back and forth transversely to the direction of failure 53, ie in the directions of movement 47 and 52, a disengaging device 54 is provided which is actuated by the deployment arm 17. The disengaging device 54 consists essentially of a threaded plunger 55 which axially movably penetrates a bore 56 arranged in the upper part of the holder 15 and with one end thereof 55a is screwed into a threaded bore 57 in the retaining element 41. The other, free end 55b of the threaded plunger 55 carries a widened head 58 which forms an abutment for a helical compression spring 59 which surrounds the threaded plunger 55 and is supported with its other end on the base 60 of a blind bore 61 which is enlarged relative to the bore 56. A shoulder 62 presses on the widened head 58 of the threaded plunger 55 on the swivel joint part 63 of the inner extension arm 17 when the latter reaches its pivoted-in position when the awning is retracted.

In the retracted state, the awning 10 is in the position shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, in which the extension arms 17 and 21 are folded together and the drop profile strip 23 with the edge profile 24 is in an approximately vertical position in front of the fabric shaft 26 under the not shown Roof of the awning box is located. The holder 15 of the tilt joint rests with its back against the front edge of the carrier 14, the elongated holding element 32 with its screwed-on stop element 37 projecting forwardly out of the recess 38 in the head part 46 of the holder 15 (FIG. 3). The shoulder 62 on the swivel joint part 63 of the inner extension arm 17 presses on the widened head 58 of the threaded plunger 55, which is thereby pressed against the action of the helical compression spring 59 by the dimension 1 into the bore 56 and thereby the retaining element 41 in the direction of movement 52 in FIG. 4 moves to the left, in which the retaining surface 51 of the retaining element 41 does not cover the open-edge recess 38 in the holder 15 (FIG. 4). In this situation, the whole Linkage of the extension arm awning with its tilting joints 22 held in the position described by the awning cloth 25, which is wound on the cloth shaft 26, which is locked in this position by its drive.

When the awning is extended, the awning fabric 25 is unwound from the fabric shaft 26. The extension arms 17 and 21 are then unfolded by a drive, the inner extension arms 17 pivoting forward in the direction of the arrow 64 (FIG. 6).

As soon as the drop profile strip 23 with the edge profile 24 moves forward away from the fabric shaft, the tilting joints 22 with the extension arms 17 and 21 mounted thereon also tilt forward in the drop direction 53 (FIG. 5). The opening 36 in the holder 15 slides along the elongated holding element 32 until the stop element 37 bears with its rear end face 39 against the stop surface 40 of the recess and the holder 15 of the tilting joint 22 assumes the tilted position shown in FIG. 5.

When the extension arms 17 are swiveled forward, the threaded plunger 55 of the release device 54 follows the shoulder 62 under the pressure of the spring element 59 and thereby pulls the retaining element 41 in the direction of movement 47 by the movement length l until the right end face 48 of the retaining element 41 on the Left end face 49 of the holder 15 rests and the retaining surface 51 covers the recess 38 and the stop element 37 now trapped therein. Here, the free end 35 of the holding element 32 projecting beyond the stop element 37 enters the slot 50 of the sliding part 41 which is open at the edge.

As soon as this position is reached, the awning is secured against being raised even before it is fully extended and the extension arms have fully folded out, because the holder 15 can no longer pivot back against the direction of failure 53 about the tilt axis 18 because the stop element 37 against the retaining surface 51.

If you want to change the tendency to fall out when the awning is extended, it is only necessary to move the threaded plunger 55 against the action of the helical compression spring 59 by hand in the direction of movement 52 and thereby expose the recess 38 and the screw nut 37 located therein. You can then easily turn the screw nut 37 in one direction or the other with a socket wrench, thereby making the distance between the stop surface 40 and the bearing pin 30 larger or smaller, as a result of which the tendency to failure becomes larger or smaller. Then the threaded plunger 55 is released, whereupon the helical compression spring 59 presses the retaining element 41 back into its securing position shown in FIG. 6.

When the awning is retracted, the deployment arms 17 and 21 fold together, the inner deployment arm 17 pivoting into a position parallel to the drop profile strip 23. The shoulder 62 of its joint part 63 then presses the threaded plunger 55 in the direction of movement 52 and thereby shifts the retaining element 41 into the position shown in FIG. 4, in which the stop element 37 emerge from the recess 38 and the holder 15 in its position shown in FIG. 3 , can pivot back approximately the vertical starting position into which it is pulled by the awning fabric 25 which is being wound up.

The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown and described, but several changes and additions are possible without leaving the scope of the invention. For example, instead of a screw nut, a stop element with a bayonet lock could also be used, which is adjustable on a correspondingly designed stop rod. The retaining element could also be actuated via a control cam by an extension arm and it would be possible to adjust the tendency to failure between the carrier and the holder in another way, so that the stop element is always at the end of the elongated retaining element and a slot in the retaining element is not required . The retaining element can then also cover the full area of the stop element; it is only important that the retaining element is arranged on the holder in the direction of failure in a tensile manner and movably transversely to the direction of failure.
