Definitions
- the invention relates to a hand-held, fluid-operated impact or drilling tool with a drive part movable in a housing, which acts to generate the working movement on the insertion end of an insertion tool, the insertion end also being supported within the housing and closely fitting over part of its longitudinal extent it is enclosed, socket-like insulating element made of elastic plastic.
- EP-B2-0 019 568 accordingly makes the proposal for a similarly designed compressed air tool to equip it with an enclosing plastic sound-absorbing hood to insulate the outlet noise.
- Embodiments of the devices mentioned here are also known, in which the latter - with the exception of a passage opening for the insertion tool - are encased on all sides in sound-absorbing material.
- the tool insertion end is supported within the housing in a tool holder which is formed by a cylindrical extension of an intermediate anvil and executes movements with respect to the housing, the tool insertion end in the area of this tool holder being guided over the entire length of an elastic bushing.
- US-A-1 459 500 relates to punching tools which are exposed to sand and dust and the sensitive parts of which are therefore to be protected accordingly.
- the known device in question has a continuous piston rod instead of an insertion tool with a tool insertion end and is otherwise designed such that the drive means - while accepting the associated noise development and propagation - is deliberately discharged to the outside through channels.
- the area of the support for the piston rod within the housing has a sealing element which is effective in the sense of a wiper.
- the prior publication DE-A-34 40 530 describes a machine-operated striking tool which is completely encapsulated and has a disk-shaped insulating element which shields the outside outside the chisel guide.
- the striking mechanism is supported by elastic insulation elements within the surrounding housing.
- the range in which the drive part acts on the insertion end of the insertion tool and the latter is supported within the housing is not directly covered by the previously known sound insulation measures on fluid-operated impact or drilling tools.
- the use of globally standardized and largely universally usable insertion tools requires a relatively large clearance to be allowed between the insertion tool and the tool holder.
- the corresponding gap between the insert tool and the tool holder enables the working noise caused by the action of the drive part to spread.
- the game-related movements of the insertion tool in the tool holder cause additional noises.
- the invention has for its object to provide a soundproofing device on a hand-held, fluid-operated impact or drilling tool, with which the noise radiation in the receiving area of the insert tool can be reduced.
- the soundproofing device should be inexpensive and, if possible, installable or replaceable with reasonable effort.
- the object is achieved by a tool with the features of claim 1.
- the idea of the solution on which the invention is based is to guide the insertion end on a tool holder which is stationary with respect to the housing, and to arrange the insulating element (which at least also fits tightly against the tool holder) held in the tool holder in the area of the tool holder, in the case of tilting no stress occurs at the insertion end, and the installation length of the To dimension insulation elements in such a way that in the longitudinal direction they make up a maximum of a quarter of the total length of the tool holder, including at least 10 millimeters.
- the insulating element is thus arranged with respect to the tool holder in such a way that support and sealing is also ensured in the so-called neutral zone in any case.
- the insertion end is centered and supported with respect to the tool holder via the elastically deformable insulating element, as a result of which the transmission of structure-borne noise to the environment is reduced and the space between the insertion end and the tool holder is sealed in the direction of the drive part.
- This double function of the insulation element results in a reduction in the noise level overall; u. U. can be achieved by the proposal of the invention, a noise reduction by more than three dB.
- the abovementioned installation of the insulating element at the insertion end can be achieved in particular by applying a pretension (claim 2).
- a pretension (claim 2). This presupposes that the passage cross section of the insulating element is smaller than the cross section of the insertion end, so that pushing the insertion end onto the insulation element results in the formation of a positive and non-positive connection between the two components.
- the insulating element is preferably also biased in the longitudinal direction between them (claim 3).
- the insulation element in the area between the two bearing bushes should also be supported on the outside, for example via a surrounding housing wall.
- the insulation element itself can be made of any material, provided that it shows sufficient deformability and sufficient suspension behavior, taking into account the working conditions. In many cases it will be advisable to make the insulating element out of plastic; the use of polyurethane or Perbunan is particularly suitable (claim 4).
- the pneumatic hammer has - viewed from the outside - three main components attached to each other, namely a handle 1, a housing 2 and an end cap 3 with a passage opening (not shown) for an insertion tool 4.
- This has - lying inside the main components 2 and 3 - in the connection to a shoulder 4a an insertion end 4b with a hexagonal cross section.
- the end cap 3 serves at the same time on a not shown paragraph on it Passage opening in cooperation with paragraph 4a to limit the range of motion of the insertion tool 4 with respect to the main components 2 and 3 in the axial direction.
- the housing 2 receives a drive part in the form of a percussion piston 5, the striking surface 5a of which acts on the end face 4c - and thus on the insertion tool 4 - during operation.
- the drive unit (not shown) for the percussion piston 5 can be designed in a manner known per se, for example as shown and described in EP-B 2-0 019 568.
- the tool holder serving as a guide in the exemplary embodiment shown consists of two spaced-apart bearing bushes 6 and 7, through the end faces 6a, 7a of which face away from one another, the total length L of the tool holder is defined.
- the bearing bushes are pressed into a bore 2a of the housing 2 and laterally enclose the insertion end 4b with a relatively large clearance (indicated by the note "s").
- the insulating element 8 lies in the part of the longitudinal extension of the insertion end 4b which comprises the neutral zone N (indicated by dash-dotted lines) of the tool holder; in this - only schematically indicated - neutral zone of the tool holder there are no loads when the insert tool 4 is tilted.
- the insulating element 8 is designed in accordance with the invention in such a way that it rests under tension on the one hand at the insertion end 4b and on the other hand both on the bearing bushes 6, 7 and on the housing 2; the last-mentioned support results from the fact that the initial length of the insulating element 8 is greater than the installation length 1 shown.
- the installation of the insulating element 8 between the bearing bushes 6 and 7 has the result that the plug-in end 4b experiences an additional, movement-damping centering in the area of the tool holder, by means of which the transmission of structure-borne noise between the plug-in end 4b and the tool holder (bearing bushes 6, 7) is reduced becomes.
- the insulating element 8 seals the surroundings against the noises which arise in the impact area between the percussion piston 5 and the insertion end 4b and which could normally spread outwards through the space s between the tool holder and the insertion end.
- a disc 9 is inserted into the bearing bush 7 on the front side 7a, the outer diameter of which corresponds at least to that of paragraph 4a and which defines the freedom of movement of the insertion tool 4 in the direction of the percussion piston 5.
- the pane is preferably made of insulating material, for example polyurethane or Perbunan.
- the invention can also be used on drilling tools.
- the torque generated by a rotary drive is exceeded, for example transfer the housing of the striking mechanism and the insertion end to the insertion tool.
