Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the continuous manufacture of envelopes, pouches, dispatch bags or the like from web-type material, in particular from paper or the like with or without lateral folds and with lateral bonding or with central bonding and in each case with a folded and bonded block bottom, wherein the web-type material is firstly weakened, cut to size, glued, folded, separated, prepared to form a tubular blank and is finally closed at the bottom. The core of the invention consists in the fact a) that the bottom formation stages take place during continuous longitudinal conveying, and b) that, when the bottom is formed, the material serving to form the lower bottom flap (42) is set back with a zigzag fold counter to the direction of transport, c) bottom side tabs (10, 11) being placed laterally outwards in the case of an envelope, a pouch or a dispatch bag with lateral folds (63, 64) and d) being folded inwards in the case of an envelope, a pouch or a dispatch bag without lateral folds. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a method for the continuous production of envelopes, bags, mailers or the like from sheet material and in particular from paper with the features of the preamble of claim 1 and it also relates to a product produced by this method.

The basic features of the method of interest here have been known for a long time, although it is also possible is to produce slightly different products based on the same process. For example, it is known from EP-B-0 006 037 in particular to produce envelopes made of paper or other materials, each with a block bottom (bottom with a square base), with or without gussets and with side or central adhesive, the envelope / that Product comprises a front part with a closure flap and at least one side flap forming a back part as well as bottom flaps and bottom side flaps. The product specifically shown and described in EP-B-0 006 037 is a carrying box used for packing and transporting objects, which consists of a pocket which has a rectangular or square bottom and two opposite main sides and two side sides , accordion-like sides and is provided on its side opposite the floor with handle-like parts. This carrier box is made by folding and gluing a single piece of solid material such as cardboard, and the gripping parts include a closure flap that is part of a one-piece blank.

Starting from this prior art, the object of the invention is to provide a method by means of which different types of envelopes, pouches or mailing bags can be produced directly on one and the same machine, and this should also be done in the simplest possible and least prone to failure.

To achieve this object, the invention provides that the bottom formation steps take place during a continuous longitudinal conveying and that the material used to form the lower bottom flap is set back against the direction of transport during the bottom formation with a zigzag fold, whereby bottom side flaps in the event of a turnover , a bag or a mailing bag with gussets on the side and fold inwards with an envelope, a bag or a mailing bag without gussets.

The use of a zigzag fold in the area of the lower bottom flap, in conjunction with a continuous longitudinal conveyance, forms the basis for a manufacturing process that can be varied in many other ways and thus also allows the manufacture of different products on one and the same machine. Here, however, it goes without saying that slight mechanical adjustments may also be necessary. Basically, however, the zigzag steps according to the invention open up new possibilities for the production of envelopes, pouches and mailing envelopes.

Further features of the invention emerge from dependent claims in connection with the description and the drawing.

During manufacture, the two bottom flap halves 8 and 9 form an inner, lower bottom flap 42 according to FIG. 10 (method steps I and K).

Furthermore, pre-cuts are provided, namely a right and a left side flap longitudinal pre-cut 12 or 13, which also extend into the bottom side flaps 10, 11, and a cross pre-cut 14 for the closure flap 3 and a bottom flap cross pre-cut 15, through which the bottom side tabs 10, 11 are limited. Furthermore, in the area of the bottom side flaps 10, 11 there are also angle pre-cuts 16 and 17 which extend from the side flap length pre-cuts 12, 13 to outer and inner incisions 18 and 19 which delimit the bottom side flaps 10, 11.

In the case of a blank 1 for a product without side folds, the bottom side flaps 10, 11 preferably taper asymmetrically towards their free ends 20. The outer cuts 18 are wider in the outer region than the inner cuts 19, i.e. the bottom side flaps 10, 11 taper more strongly on the side of the bottom flap halves 8, 9 than on the side facing the bottom flap 7.

Furthermore, according to a preferred embodiment, the bottom side flaps 10, 11 are in the direction of the longitudinal breaks 12, 13 shorter than the bottom flap and shorter than the bottom flap halves 8, 9. As a result, with extremely wide and at the same time relatively short block bottoms 21 according to the product 22 shown in FIG. 2, there is nowhere in the area of the bottom 23 more than three layers of material overlap.

Fig. 3 shows a blank 31 for a modified product with gussets. The blank 31 therefore has all the individual features of the blank 1 according to FIG. 1, the same reference numbers also being used for identical parts.

Because of the side folds, the blank 31 between the front part 2 and each side flap 5, 6 still has two strip-shaped side parts 32 and 33 or 34 and 35 forming the side folds. Furthermore, not only are there a right side flap longitudinal protrusion 12 and a left side flap longitudinal protrusion 13, but additionally also a right side fold longitudinal protrusion 36 and a left side fold longitudinal protrusion 37 as well as a right front part longitudinal protrusion 38 and a left front part longitudinal protrusion 39.

The bottom side flaps 10 and 11 are designed in the same way for the blank 31 as for the blank 1. However, for manufacturing reasons, the corners 40 of the bottom flap halves 8, 9 facing the bottom side flaps 10, 11 are not only rounded, but there are recesses 41 there 3. As a result, the lower or the lower ones can move during the zigzag movement inner bottom flap 42 forming bottom flap halves 43 and 44 and the bottom side flaps 10, 11 move past one another more easily or without problems (FIG. 10, method steps J and K).

Finally, the two blanks 1 and 31 also include block bottom protrusions 45 and 46 in the side flaps 5, 6 which, in the case of the cut 31 for products with gussets, extend at least as far as the gusset longitudinal protrusions 36 and 37 and are preferably introduced in a separate process step , as is also apparent from the description of the method.

Die Figur 4 zeigt einen Zuschnitt 51 vor dem Vereinzeln für ein Produkt 52 gemäß Fig. 5 ohne Seitenfalten, jedoch mit Klotzboden 53 und Seitenklebung.FIG. 4 shows a blank 51 before separating for a product 52 according to FIG. 5 without side folds, but with block bottom 53 and side gluing.

Die Figur 6 zeigt einen Zuschnitt 61 vor dem Vereinzeln für ein Produkt 62 gemäß Fig. 7 mit Seitenfalten 63, 64 sowie mit Klotzboden 65 und mit Seitenklebung.FIG. 6 shows a blank 61 before separating for a product 62 according to FIG. 7 with side folds 63, 64 and with block bottom 65 and with side gluing.

The blanks 1 and 31 according to FIGS. 1 and 3 relate to products with central adhesive, as is also the case with product 22 according to FIG. 2.

Instead of the side flaps, the blanks 51 and 61 each have a back part 66 and a lower bottom flap 67, which also has a block bottom protrusion 68 for the zigzag fold is also assigned how a block bottom protrusion 69 in the side flap 70 used for closing when cutting 51 or the double side flap 71 when cutting 61. Here too, the block bottom protrusions 68, 69 are preferably introduced in a separate operation.

In the case of products with block bottoms 65 and side gussets 63, 64, it is expedient if, according to FIG. 8, the center line M between the flap-side edge 81 of the upper bottom flap 7 and the bottom flap-side edge 82 of the adjacent bottom side flap 10, 11 by a dimension Z from the front part Longitudinal protrusion 38 or 39 away and towards the gusset longitudinal protrusion 36 or 37 is offset. Furthermore, the two incisions 18 and 19 do not start directly at the bottom flap transverse projection 15, but offset to the free edge 83 of the bottom flap 7 by a dimension Y.

It is thereby achieved that the corners 84 (FIG. 7) of the block bottom 65 close particularly well.

In a design according to FIG. 8, the bottom side flaps 10, 11 tilt more finely when the zigzag fold is carried out by an angle according to FIG. 9, when the two center lines M are located next to the bottom flap 7 at a distance of format width F and twice the offset Z. .

The contour of the tabs 10, 11 and the contour of the bottom flap halves 43, 44 forming the lower bottom flap 42 can correspond to the lines drawn in dashed or dashed lines in FIGS. 8 and 9. They can therefore have a full contour or can be provided with recesses 41 or 85.

The dimension Z is variable and depends on it as a function of the paper thickness.

Die Herstellung der Produkte 22, 52 , 62 erfolgt gemäß in den Figuren 10 bis 15 dargestellten und grundsätzlich in Details variablen Herstellungsverfahren. the gluing or the application of at least one glue track 101 on the upper bottom flap 7 according to method step K and
folding the upper bottom flap 7 onto the bottom side flaps 10 and 11 and onto the lower bottom flap 42 while closing the block bottom 102 according to method step L, which leads to the finished product 92.

Process steps A to L can be modified in such a way that process step H takes place simultaneously with process step B, as shown in FIG. 11.

A further modification of process steps A to L leads to the following sequence:
A; then B together with H; then the process steps C, D, E + G, I, X, F and K and L according to FIG. 12.

The method for producing products 92 'with side folds 63, 64 differs only slightly from the method for producing products 92 without side folds. Various modifications are also possible with this method, as can be seen from FIGS. 13 to 15.

Sodann erfolgen bei dem in Fig. 13 dargestellten Herstellungsverfahren die Verfahrensschritte B, C, D, E, F, G, H', X', I', Y sowie K und L.The first method step A 'is the same for all variants. It includes the manufacture of the inner or side flap longitudinal protrusions 12, 13 and the front part longitudinal protrusions 38, 39 and the production of the outer or side fold longitudinal protrusions 36, 37 for the side folds 63, 64 simultaneously with the production of transverse and Angular breaks 14 to 17 for the bottom flaps 7, 42 for the bottom side flaps 10, 11 and for the closing flap 3. The method steps B, C, D, E, F, G, H ', X then take place in the production method shown in FIG ', I', Y as well as K and L.

The process steps B, C, D, E, F and G as well as K and L are identical to the processes described first. Steps H ', X' and I 'differ from the corresponding steps in the methods described first and step Y is an additional step which is not present in the methods described first.

The method step H 'represents an edge cut that covers all layers of material to produce the bottom flaps 10, 11.

In method step I ', the bottom side flaps 10, 11 are glued or provided with glue traces 103 and method step Y relates to the inward turning of the bottom side flaps 10, 11 onto the lower bottom flap 42. Then, as before, the top bottom flap 7 is glued and finally folded over according to method step L and placed on the bottom side flaps 10, 11 and the bottom bottom flap 42. The product 92 'is thus completed.

Sodann erfolgen die Verfahrensschritte C, D, E, F, G, X', I', Y sowie K und L.Modifications of this method are shown in FIGS. 14 and 15. In the process variant according to FIG. 14, process steps B and H are again combined into one step, so that here already the bottom side flaps 10, 11, the bottom bottom flap 42 consisting of the two bottom flap halves 43, 44 and the top bottom flap 7 together with a closure flap 3 of the part 104 located at the front in the transport direction can be produced by a single cut. Process steps C, D, E, F, G, X ', I', Y and K and L then take place.

Furthermore, the separating cut and the singling of the blank 97 'in accordance with method step F take place only after the zigzag step X' and further subsequent steps I 'and Y.

The examples show that manifold modifications are possible and that the various process steps can also be combined with one another, so that stations can be saved in a machine which is used to carry out the process. In all cases, it is a production with continuous longitudinal conveyance according to the arrows 105 in FIG. 10, the end 106 (FIG. 10) forming the block bottom 102 also being transported forward in the transport direction.

The product 109 shown in FIG. 16 also shows that the method according to the invention permits a variety of modifications. Thus, the product 109 has a two-part closure flap 110 with a closure flap 111 on the opening side on the front part 2, while a back part closure flap 112 is located on the back part 4. Finally, locking tabs 113 are also provided on the side parts 114. A product 109 of this type can be easily produced using the method according to the invention, only the contour of the blank having to be adapted.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 10a, method steps B and H are combined in method step B ', the complete base side plates 10 and 11 being produced. Furthermore, at least one fold line involved in the zigzag fold is glued in a direction opposite to the zigzag according to an additional method step Z (FIG. 10a) before the side flap 5 is glued (method step C in FIG. 10) or Zack folds forward and back folded at least once. According to the exemplary embodiment, this is expediently done on the web 91. For this purpose, the two bottom flap halves 8, 9 and 43, 44 are first folded over their block bottom protrusions 45, 46 onto the side flaps 5, 6 and then pivoted back again. This is indicated in FIG. 10a in method step Z with the aid of small arrows.

While FIG. 10a shows the process steps in the production of a product without side folds, FIG. 15a relates to the additional process step Z in the case of the production of a product with side folds. Here, too, the bottom flap halves 43, 44 are merely folded onto the side flaps 5, 6 and pivoted back again in order to make the block bottom protrusions 45, 46 supple for the zigzag fold which follows later (method step X ').

It also applies to all other exemplary embodiments that the additional use of method step Z is possible.
