Description

The invention relates to a package for stacks of folded tissues, in particular paper handkerchiefs, with a wrapping made of paper, (plastic) film or other flexible packaging material surrounding the contents of the pack, with a removal opening facing an adjacent end wall in the area of a rectangular front wall of the wrapper is arranged with a closing flap covering this in the closed position, which extends into the end wall and is part of an outer flap thereof, side flaps connected to elongated, upright side walls being folded inwards into the plane of the end wall and connected to further folding flaps thereof.

Such a soft pack is known from DE-U-83 19 608.0. The outer covering consists of a blank that is separated from a continuous sheet of plastic film. The closure flap of a blank projects into the area of an adjacent blank and forms a recess or depression as a removal opening. Thereby the blanks can be made waste-free by interlocking arrangement within the material web.

In this known packaging, the closure flap extends over the full width of the front wall or front wall. The side flaps connected to the side walls are separated from the closure flap or the outer flap of the end wall as part of the closure flap by corresponding punch cuts. As a result, the side tabs can be folded individually and independently of other parts of the blank into the plane of the end wall. Half of the side tabs are connected to the closure flap or the outer tab by thermal sealing. The packaging produced in this way is not well suited for packaging material with low tear strength, in particular for paper or paper-like products. If the packaging is opened several times by actuating the sealing flap, there is a risk of tearing and tearing in the area of the corners of the sealing flap and the removal opening.

From DE-U-91 03 648.8 a handkerchief packaging is known which, in the open state, releases the entire surface of the end wall. When the closure flap is closed, folding gussets are formed in the region of the end wall, to be precise in the interaction between the closure flap and continuations of the long narrow side walls lying in this region. The sealing flap itself extends across the full package width. Therefore, there is also the risk of tearing and tearing mentioned above.

The invention is based on the object of proposing a packaging for paper handkerchiefs in particular which is suitable for all types of thin packaging material, in particular also for paper or similar materials, without the risk of unwanted tearing open or in the area of the opening aid and in particular the locking tab to have. In addition, the packaging should be designed so that it can be manufactured industrially on packaging machines with high performance.

To achieve this object, the packaging according to the invention is characterized in that the side flaps are connected to the closure flap or the outer flap of the end wall, such that when the side flaps are folded into the plane of the end wall in a region facing a rear wall, folding gussets are formed, some of which occur rest on the inside of the closure flap, and that the closure flap is delimited in the region of the outer lobe of the end wall by cutting lines which run at a distance from the narrow edge of the end wall. This leaves lateral edge areas in the area of the front wall which are not covered by the closure flap. The risk of the locking tab tearing is thus reduced.

Furthermore, according to the invention, the removal opening, which extends like a tongue in the region of the front wall, is formed with a significantly smaller width than that of the front wall. In addition to the removal opening, relatively wide webs remain in the area of the front wall. The side tabs are also connected to this at least until the packaging is put into use. When the side flaps are folded in, this also results in (small) folding gussets in the region of the front wall, which in the closed position of the packaging are partially covered by the closing flap.

It is also important that, according to the invention, an edge strip of the side tabs facing the removal opening is folded over, in particular against its upper side. This results in a widening of the removal opening into the end wall, which facilitates the removal of the package contents.

The exemplary embodiment shown is a cuboidal soft pack for a stack of folded paper handkerchiefs 10. These are surrounded by an outer covering made of a one-piece blank 11. Paper and paper-like materials are considered as packaging material, but also thin, highly flexible ( Plastic) foils.

The covering or the blank 11 form a front wall 12, an opposite rear wall 13, elongated, narrow side walls 14 and 15 and an end wall 16 with an opposite bottom wall. The rectangular blank 11 envelops the cuboid-shaped package contents in a tubular manner. Two side wall tabs 17 and 18 overlap one another and form the side wall 15.

For the removal of the paper handkerchiefs 10, a removal opening 19 is formed in the area of the front wall 12 and the adjacent end wall 16. This has a tongue-shaped here Shape with rounded contours. The removal opening 19 extends in an upper region of the front wall 12 facing the end wall 16 and in an adjacent edge region of the end wall 16.

The removal opening 19 is arranged and dimensioned by punching out a part of the front wall 12 so that it has a significantly smaller width than the rectangular front wall 12. This leaves lateral webs 20, 21 as a limitation of the removal opening 19 in the region of the front wall 12. These webs 20, 21 extend to an upper, front transverse edge 22 as a transition between front wall 12 and end wall 16. The webs 20, 21 are dimensioned such that they amount to approximately 1/6 of the total width of the front wall, for example 4 in the case of packaging of conventional dimensions mm to 8 mm.

In the closed position of the packaging, the removal opening 19 is covered by a closure tab 23 and thus closed. The closure tab 23 has significantly larger dimensions than the removal opening 19. In the closed position (FIG. 1), protrusions 24 of the closure tab 23 arise on all sides with respect to the removal opening 19. This is reliably covered, even if the closure tab 23 is not exactly centered due to manufacturing tolerances is aligned with the removal opening 19.

The locking tab 23 is tongue-shaped. It is adapted in shape and dimension to the removal opening 19. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this results from the arrangement of blanks 11 within a continuous material web (FIG. 4). Two blanks 11 are arranged side by side within this web of packaging material. Fold lines of the blanks are shown in thin lines, separation lines in the packaging material in thick lines. The locking tab 23 of one blank 11 connected to the rear wall 13 projects into the removal opening 19 of the adjacent blank. Through a common Die cut 25 accordingly produces the removal opening 19 of one and the closure flap 23 of the other blank 11. The cuts 11 lying next to one another are separated from one another by central cuts 26 which are made in the longitudinal direction of the material web. A continuous cut separates the two blanks 11 from the material web.

The closure tab 23 extends with a partial area in the front wall 12, further in the end wall 16 or in an inner tab 27 of the end wall 16 of the adjacent blank 11 and in an outer tab 28 of the blank 11 to which the closure tab 23 belongs. The exposed part of the closure flap 23, that is to say the part cut out from the adjacent blank 11, is formed in the present exemplary embodiment by a divergent course of the punched cut 25 with a variable width, namely increasing up to the transverse edge 22. In the area of the outer tab 28, the die cut 25 consists of converging die legs 29, 30. These extend only over part of the width of the outer tab 28. At the ends of the die legs 29, 30 there are diverging fold lines 45, 46, which lead to corners on the back .

The closure flap 23 is consistently of a smaller width than the corresponding dimensions of the front wall 12 and end wall 16. This also leaves lateral edge regions 31, 32 in the region of the end wall 16, which are not covered by the closure flap 23.

The end wall 16 consists of the inner tab 27 or the remaining edge regions 31, 32 of the same, the outer tab 28 and intermediate tabs 33, 34. These extend in continuation of the side walls 14, 15 and the wall tabs 17, 18. The side tabs 33 , 34 are folded into the plane of the end wall 16 and form a layer thereof. The side tabs 33, 34 extend between the inner tab 27 and the outer tab 28.

The special feature is that the side tabs 33 and 34 are not separated from the adjacent inner tabs 27 and outer tabs 28, but are connected to them. This creates triangular folding gussets 35, 36 when the side flaps 33, 34 are folded into the plane of the end wall 16 (position according to FIG. 3) on the side facing the rear wall 13. These are part of the outer flap 28 and provide a connection between the side flaps 33, 34 and the outer tab 28 or the closure tab 23 forth. The folding gussets 35, 36 extend with a partial area between the side tabs 33, 34 and the outer tab 28 or the closure flap 23, which is part of the outer tab 28 in this area.

Also on the opposite side facing the front wall 12, the connection of the side flaps 33, 34 to the inner flap 27 or its edge regions 31, 32 results in smaller corner folds 37, 38. These are also folded against the top of the side flaps 33, 34. In the exemplary embodiment shown, an edge strip 39, 40 of the side tabs 33, 34 is also folded over against the upper side thereof. This results in an expansion of the removal opening 19 into the region of the end wall 16.

The finished packaging (FIGS. 1 and 2) is designed in such a way that the closure flap 23 with the part extending in the region of the end wall 16 is firmly connected to the underlying folding tabs of the end wall 16, that is to say with the folded-in side tabs 33, 34 In this part, the closure flap 23 forms the outer tabs 28 of the end wall 16. The connection can take place in the case of thermoplastic materials by thermal sealing, in the case of paper and similar materials by means of adhesive.

A free tab end 41 is used to open and reclose the packaging, which area is made up of the inner tab 27 of the adjacent blank (FIG. 4) and that Part of the closure tab 23 results, which is separated from the front wall 12 to form the removal opening 19. The transverse edge 22 also forms a hinge axis or a hinge for the tab end 41.

Dieser Teil der Verschlußlasche 23 überdeckt die Entnahmeöffnung 19 in Schließstellung (Fig. 1).This part of the locking tab 23 covers the removal opening 19 in the closed position (FIG. 1).

The tab end 41 of the closure tab 23 can be connected to the front wall 12 by an adhesive strip. In the present exemplary embodiment, a glue point 42 made of a permanent adhesive is arranged below the removal opening 19. By means of this glue point 42, the closure tab 23 is releasably fixed in the closed position. The tab end 41 of the closure tab 23 is formed in the present case with an inwardly folded end piece 43 which is fixed in this position. This makes it easier to grasp the locking tab 23 when opening and closing.

Die Entnahmeöffnung 19 wird dadurch über die volle Breite der Vorderwand 12 frei (Fig. 2).The relatively wide webs 20, 21 laterally next to the removal opening 19 can hinder the pulling out of the paper handkerchiefs 10. It is therefore provided that in the region of the transverse edge 22 the webs 20, 21 are separated from the adjacent part of the blank 11 which extends in the end wall 16, that is to say from the inner tab 27 or the edge regions 31, 32 of the same. A stamped cut or advantageously a perforation 44 can be formed in this area. This is severed when the first, front handkerchief 10 is removed. The removal opening 19 is thereby free over the full width of the front wall 12 (Fig. 2).
