Description

The invention relates to a paper-tissue pack, in particular a paper handkerchief pack, with a wrapping of film, paper or the like surrounding a stack of the folded paper-tissues, the wrapping in the area of a large front side a removal opening for the paper-tissues has, in the area of which an edge area of a folded position of a paper towel facing the removal opening is exposed, and the paper towels have a zigzag or Z-shaped fold with at least three folding legs.

Soft packs for paper handkerchiefs are known in a large number of designs, also with a reclosable opening.

The present invention is concerned with measures to facilitate the removal of the paper towels from the pack. The arrangement or folding of the paper handkerchiefs is known in such a way that a fold position of the cloth between the thumb and forefinger is detected in the region of the opening of the pack and the cloth can then be pulled out of the pack (DE-U-91 06 555.0). At from this known paper handkerchief pack, the handkerchiefs can be removed via an opening which is located in an area facing an end face of the pack and has an opening continuation in the end face. Incidentally, the folding in this known package should be designed so that "quick unfolding" of the handkerchiefs removed is possible. A planned Z-folding of the towels remains unaffected by the removal process.

The invention has for its object to form the paper-tissue pack by arranging the tissues so that on the one hand a quick deployment of the removed tissues is possible, but on the other hand an easier removal with practically arbitrarily designed and arranged openings is possible.

To solve this problem, the paper-tissue pack mentioned at the outset is characterized in that one edge-side of the three folding legs - formed by the zigzag or Z-shaped fold - faces the removal opening of the pack, so that corresponding Z-fold lines or transverse folding lines run transversely to the removal direction and the folding legs can be successively pulled out of the removal opening.

The zigzag or Z-fold is further designed according to the invention so that the folding leg facing the removal opening is significantly shorter than the subsequent, middle folding leg.

The invention is based on the finding that an easy, trouble-free removal of the individual paper handkerchiefs can take place particularly trouble-free via the removal opening if the pulling movement exerted by hand on the folded sheet results in a successive pulling out caused by legs of a zigzag fold. This will unfold the cloth to its full length when pulled out. Only the folding tabs formed by longitudinal folds need to be opened.

Because of the folding according to the invention, the pack can be provided with removal openings of different shapes and arrangements in the area of a front side. However, the Z-fold lines are always transverse to the removal direction or to the direction of the tensile force during removal.

The folding of the paper towels is also designed according to the invention in such a way that a single folded position with an edge area for grasping is exposed in the region of the removal opening.

Further features of the invention relate to the design and folding of the paper towels and to the design of the paper towel pack in its entirety.

The exemplary embodiments shown in the drawings relate to paper handkerchief packs or to the design of the paper handkerchiefs. An application for other (paper) towels is easily possible.

Paper handkerchiefs are folded for packaging. Several folded and stacked paper handkerchiefs form the contents of a paper handkerchief pack. This is formed by an outer covering made of (plastic) film, paper or, in exceptional cases, thin cardboard.

In the exemplary embodiments shown, the paper handkerchief packs have a cuboid shape. This is determined by a large front or front wall 10 and a correspondingly designed rear wall. Furthermore, the packaging is limited by elongated, narrow side walls 11 and 12. A smaller end wall 13 of the same width extends transversely to these and a bottom wall 14 lies opposite. The covering is formed by a blank which usually overlaps and adheres to one another in the region of the end wall 13 and bottom wall 14 and in the region of one of the two side walls 11, 12 or has welded folding tabs.

In the area of the front wall 10 there is a removal opening 15 for the handkerchiefs. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, the removal opening 15 is arranged centrally within the front wall 10. It has an approximately oval, at least elongated shape. The removal opening 15 is oriented with the long axis in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the front wall 10.

Before the pack is put into use, the removal opening 15 is closed by a region of the front wall 10 which corresponds to the shape of the removal opening 15. A tear-open tab 16 is delimited by a closed weakening line running all around, in the present case by a perforation line 17. This consists of longer punch cuts 18 and very short remaining connections 19. By gripping the tear-open tab 16 at a suitable point, it can be completely separated from the removal opening 15. This will expose a portion of the top or front handkerchief.

The handkerchiefs of the pack are folded in a special way and arranged in the pack or in the wrapper. The folding of the paper handkerchiefs is chosen so that a free, single-layered edge 20 of each paper handkerchief lies in the region of the removal opening 15. This free edge 20, which runs centrally or at a sufficient distance from the boundary of the removal opening 15, is grasped for the removal of the handkerchief between the index finger and thumb.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, the rectangular paper handkerchief is folded in the longitudinal direction and in the transverse direction. The longitudinal direction here means the extension of the handkerchief in the removal direction. Because of the (larger) width of the handkerchief, two longitudinal folds, shown with the aid of longitudinal fold lines 21, 22, are provided. Through these defined longitudinal tabs 23, 24 are folded inwards for abutment on a central part 25. The dimensions are chosen so that the longitudinal tabs 23, 24 each cover approximately half of the central part 25 (FIG. 3). In this intermediate folding position, the handkerchief is reduced to half the width. This also corresponds to the length of the pack, namely the dimension of the front wall 10 and rear wall of the pack in the longitudinal direction thereof.

The handkerchief folded so far is then folded in several directions, in the present case three transverse folding lines 26, 27, 28 in a zigzag shape in a direction transverse to the longitudinal folding lines 21, 22. This results in several, in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, four folding legs 29, 30, 31, 32. These are each directed in opposite directions due to the zigzag folding. When folded, this results in an accordion-like or leporello-like shape of the finished folded handkerchief.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, three of the folding legs 30, 31 and 32 are of the same length or dimension in the longitudinal direction of the handkerchief. The dimensions are chosen so that a folding leg 30, 31, 32 corresponds to the inner surface of the package according to FIG. 1, thus also the size of the front wall 10 and rear wall. The fourth, edge-side leg 29 has significantly smaller dimensions in the longitudinal direction of the handkerchief, such that the free, outer edge 20 of this folding leg 29 extends (partially) within the removal opening 15. The handkerchief can therefore preferably be gripped in the middle of this edge 20 of an outer folded position 33 of the folding leg 29 and pulled out of the pack.

The peculiarity of the zigzag fold comes into effect. The folding legs 29, 30, 31 and 32 are successively pulled out of the removal opening 15. This avoids constraints. Furthermore, by detecting a single folded position 33, the handkerchief can be quickly deployed by knocking it out.

The folding of the handkerchiefs is chosen so that the folded-over longitudinal flaps 23, 24 lie on the inside in the region of the outer or upper folding leg 29. The middle part 25 is accordingly in the area of this outer folding leg 29 to be detected on the outside.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, the removal process is facilitated by a grip tab 34. This is formed on the edge 20 of the outer, free folded layer 33, in the middle. The grip tab 34 lies completely inside the removal opening 15, and at a distance from the border. The grip tab 34 can therefore be gripped particularly easily. The removal process then takes place in the manner described. The grip tab 34 also facilitates rapid deployment.

Additional material consumption is not given by the handle tab 34. When the handkerchiefs are separated from a continuous web of the cloth material, a recess 35 of the same shape and size is formed on the side opposite the handle tab 34. The grip tab 34 is cut out of this for the subsequent handkerchief. There is therefore no waste. The recess 35 has no effect on the use of the handkerchief.

The folding concept for the handkerchiefs and thus the removal of the same from the pack is also suitable for other designs of removal openings and tear-open tabs.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4 to 6, a removal opening 36 is formed in the region of the front wall 10, which runs adjacent, namely at a distance from the end wall 13 in the transverse direction, almost over the full width of the front wall 10. A tear-open tab 37 is assigned to the removal opening 36, which enables the package to be reclosed after the removal of paper handkerchiefs. For this purpose, the tear tab 37 is delimited by an approximately V-shaped perforation line 38. The tear tab 37 thereby receives an overall tongue-like design. Lateral legs 39, 40 of the perforation line 38 are arranged diverging towards the end wall 13. Ends of the perforation line 38 and the legs 39, 40 are provided with an arcuate deflection 41. This prevents the film from tearing beyond the end of the legs 39, 40. At the level of the ends of the perforation line 38, ie at the level of the deflections 41, the tear-open tab 37 forms a pivot axis when the package is opened.

The pull tab 37 is assigned an adhesive strip 42 (tape) for actuation. This adhesive strip 42 is connected with a partial area to the tear tab 37 by another area with the front wall 10 outside the area of the tear tab 37 by gluing. One end of the adhesive strip 42 outside of the tear-open tab 37 is free of adhesive and serves as a handle end 43 for gripping the adhesive strip 42. This is pulled off from the front wall 10 by hand when the package is opened. The tear tab 37 is carried along by the adhesive strip 42. The perforation line 38 is severed. As a result, the tear-open tab 37 reaches an open position in which the removal opening 36, which extends over almost the full width of the package, is exposed. A paper handkerchief can now be removed using these.

Die Faltung entlang den Längsfaltlinien 44, 45, 46 ist im vorliegenden Falle Z- bzw. zick-zack-förmig (Fig. 6).In this exemplary embodiment, the likewise rectangular paper handkerchief according to FIG. 5 is first folded in the region of three longitudinal fold lines 44, 45, 46, in such a way that an elongated structure is formed which is four-ply in one part and three-ply in another part. The longitudinal folding lines 44, 45, 46 delimit four folding strips 47, 48, 49 and 50. The folding strips 48, 49 and 50 are dimensioned such that they correspond to the width of the package according to FIG. 4. The edge-side folding strip 47 has a significantly smaller width. When the handkerchief is completely folded, this folding strip 47 lies on the top, in the region of the removal opening 36. The folding along the longitudinal folding lines 44, 45, 46 is in the present case z-shaped or zig-zag-shaped (FIG. 6).

The paper handkerchief folded in this way to form an elongated strip-like structure is then folded transversely to the longitudinal fold lines 44..46 by several, namely two transverse fold lines 51 and 52. This folding is necessarily z-shaped or zig-zag-shaped, as can be seen from FIG. 6. This creates three folding legs 54, 55 and 56 from the multi-layer folded tissue. The aforementioned folding legs 54..56 have different lengths. The length of the middle folding leg 55 corresponds to the corresponding longitudinal dimension of the pack. The shorter folding legs 54 and 56 are dimensioned here so that they do not overlap each other. They each correspond to approximately half the dimension of the middle folding leg 55. As a result, the finished folded handkerchief has a uniform thickness throughout.

The folding leg 54 on the outside or on the top faces the removal opening 36. The design and dimensions of the folding leg 54 on the one hand and the arrangement, design and dimensions of the removal opening 36 are selected such that an area of the folding leg 54 facing a free end region or an end edge 57 extends with a slight overlap outside the region of the removal opening 36. Accordingly, when the package is opened by pulling out the tear-open tab 37, the end edge 57 is not freely located within the removal opening 36. On the other hand, a free side edge 58 of an individual folding layer 59 of the paper handkerchief lying outside or above extends in the region of the removal opening 36, specifically across the opening Removal direction of the handkerchief. When the package is open, that is to say the tear-open tab 37 is pivoted back, the side edge 58 is exposed. In this area, the upper folded layer 59 of the shorter folded strip 47 can be gripped and the handkerchief can be pulled out of the package.

During this removal process, the Z-fold comes into effect again through the transverse fold lines 51, 52. The handkerchief is pulled out of the pack in sections, namely first the folding leg 54, then the folding leg 55 and lastly the folding leg 56. The removed handkerchief is held in such a way that it can be opened by rapid deployment.

Also in the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 to 6, a grip tab can be attached to the paper handkerchief in the area of the folded position 59 for easier grasping of the handkerchief.
