Abstract

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing portable packaging bags made of plastic material and each having an approximately rectangular front and rear face portion which are interconnected laterally by side portions and by a folded top portion in the top region and which have a handle extending over the folded top portion. The following process steps are used essentially for manufacturing: - Spreading out a continuous sheet (26) in the running direction V of the sheet, - folding out two double layers (36, 37) for the handle perpendicular to the sheet, the double layers for the handle being located parallel to one another on the same side of the sheet (26) and parallel to the centre-line (y-y) of the sheet and their folding creases extending in the running direction V of the sheet, - folding in the central portion, forming an inside fold (24) along the centre-line y-y, - placing one above the other the face portions (9, 10) located on the outside in relation to the double layers for the handle to form a half tube, - welding seams on the vertical edges of the face portions, - punching and welding a handle contour on the double layers (36, 37) for the handle, - cutting to length the sheet (26) with the double layers for the handle in single pieces of a length required in each case for one bag. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing portable packaging bags made of plastic film, which are initially open at their lower end for filling and can be closed there after filling, each having an approximately rectangular front and rear surface part, the side parts by side and by a folded lid part in the head area are connected to each other, and have a handle reaching over the folded lid part.

From the applicant's application DE-C2-36 29 563, a bag and a method for its production are known, in which the handle reaching over the folded lid part is produced by means of two additional handle strips welded to a film web. The known bag has proven itself on the whole. However, it still leaves some wishes open that encourage improvement. For example, the separate grip film in the known bag cannot be printed in the register.

It is therefore the task of specifying a method for producing portable packaging bags, in which the grip area in the register can also be printed, which has a high dimensional stability and the like
Manufacturing generally avoids the attachment of additional grip strips.

These tasks are made possible by a method of the type mentioned at the outset, which can be carried out in two variants. On the one hand, the film runs in a running direction V, in the other variant in a running direction W. The difference is essentially that so-called double grip layers, which later result in the handle reaching over the folded lid part, are folded out once in the running direction, on the other hand folded across the machine. However, both methods comprise essentially the same invention, so that they are to be presented in two subordinate main claims.

In the first variant, the process is characterized by the following process steps:
  • Laying out a running film web for the packaging bag in the film running direction V,
  • Folding out two double layers of handles vertically to the film web, the double layers of handles on the same side of the film web being parallel to one another and parallel to the center line (y - y) of the film web and their folding creases running in the film running direction V,
  • the distance between the double handle layers is occupied by a film middle part, which later forms the folding lid part,
  • Folding in the middle part to form an inner fold along the center line y - y,
  • Stacking the surface parts lying outside in relation to the double grip layers to form a half-tube,
  • Execution of the weld seams on the vertical edges of the surface parts,
  • Punching and welding of a handle contour on the double handle layers,
  • Cutting the film web with the double handle layers into single pieces each of a piece length required for a bag.

In the second variant, the process is characterized by the following process steps:
  • Laying out a running film web for the packaging bag in the film running direction W,
  • Folding out two double-grip layers, each at repeat intervals, vertically to the foil web, the double-grip layers on the same side of the foil web being parallel to one another and transversely to the center line (z-z) of the foil web and their folding creases running in the foil running direction W,
  • the distance between the double handle layers is occupied by a film middle part, which later forms the folding lid part,
  • Cut to length the film web at repeat intervals
  • Folding in the middle part to form a kink across the center line z - z,
  • Stacking the surface parts lying outside in relation to the double grip layers to form a half-tube,
  • Execution of the weld seams on the vertical edges of the surface parts,
  • Punching and welding of a handle contour on the double handle layers.

The method steps mentioned in both variants are preferably carried out continuously and for the most part with temporal overlap. The order of the steps can also be swapped in some cases according to professional judgment. For example, in process variant 2, the punching and welding of a handle contour could also take place before the weld seams are carried out. If necessary, punching or welding a handle contour could be dispensed with in the case of very simple bags.

Usually, the two handle double layers with a handle recess. The double handle layers can remain unconnected, can be connected by reusable gluing or by a weld. Furthermore, it is proposed to incorporate a weakening line in the area of the kink of the middle part or the later folding lid part.

Exemplary embodiments of the invention and the process sequence are explained on the basis of the figures. The terms "top", "bottom", "vertical", "head part" and the like chosen in the claims and in the following description are based on a filled bag, which is placed in the carrying position and which is usually used individually.

Because no additional grip strips are used in either process variant, it is possible to print the entire bag film in the register and to fully include the sides of the bag in the printing. Due to the additional sealing seam at the beginning of the handle, the bag has a high dimensional stability. The handle should preferably be equipped with hot-seam punching, as well as the punching out of the handle holes, so that all accesses to the inside of the bag are closed. But it is also possible to punch out the handle holes without creating a seam.

The bag is made from a conventional flat film and is particularly suitable for holding pulp diapers in a pressed form.

A portable, filled packaging bag 1 made of plastic film, as is produced according to both method variants, is shown in FIG. The bag 1 has a cuboid shape, this shape can also be given a more or less pronounced cushion shape by bulges, curves and the like, which is essentially determined by its content. The bag 1 has a rectangular front and rear surface part 9 or 10, which are connected by side parts 42, 43. Vertical seams 20, 21 run through the side parts 42, 43, a tube shape being formed by heat sealing or by similar known types of connection. Furthermore, the parts 9, 10, 42, 43 are integrally connected to one another by a folding lid part 4 at the upper head region. At the lower, initially open, filling end 34, the bag 1 is closed by a transverse weld 35 after mechanical filling, as is known per se.

The folded lid part 4 extends into raised edges 7, 8 and forms a recess 4 'which is lower by a small part of the total height of the packaging bag. A handle 2, which is formed from two handle parts 14 and 15, extends over the folding lid part 4. The handle parts 14 and 15 are in the head region of the bag 1 made in one piece with the two surface parts 9 and 10. The two handle parts 14, 15 also have a coinciding handle recess 13.

The handle 2 consists of the two handle parts 14, 15, which at their parallel outer edges, ie. H. are connected to one another at the apex to form a bracket along a seam 16, preferably a heat seal seam. In the exemplary embodiment, the handle parts 14, 15 consist of a double layer of film (double handle layer), which will be explained in the following.

Furthermore, the surface parts of the handle parts 14, 15 projecting outward from the handle recess 13 on both sides are each formed with a preferably arcuate recess 18, 19 in the direction of the vertical edges of the surface parts 9, 10 in narrow tongues 22, 23. The edge of the two handle parts is also welded to their cut edge.

Furthermore, it is provided in the illustrated embodiment that the folding lid part 4 is provided with a tearable weakening line 25 running along the central inner fold 24 or the other regions. This can preferably be formed by a perforation.

The plastic film web 26 used for the bag production is made of a preferably two-layer composite film with a thin-film film which is particularly suitable for applying a color print as the outer film and a supporting inner film having comparatively good welding and strength properties, e.g. B. made of a polyethylene film layer. The use of such multilayer composite films, which is known per se, gives the advantageous possibility of using a selection of different materials to use properties specially adapted to their intended use. The outer layer can be opaque and, for example, can be provided with a print on its outer surface. The inner layer can be made transparent or opalescent with greater strength than the outer layer of the composite film.

Of course, the manufacture of the aforementioned bags is not limited to such materials. Single-layer foils or composite foils made of plastic / paper or also paper alone can also be used.

Figures 1 to 5 show in detail the steps of the manufacturing process and thus show the emergence of the packaging bag equipped according to the invention.

Beispiel 1:Example 1:

First, an "endless" film web 26 is rolled off a roll (not shown) and pulled over a machine table, the film running direction being designated by V. The film is delimited at its outer edges 11, 12 by a straight edge. The center line of the film web is designated y - y. Two double layers of handles 36, 37 are folded upwards to the right and left of the line y - y at equal intervals. The height and spacing of the double handle layers 36 and 37 depend on the size and dimensions of the bag. In principle, the height of the double handle layers should be greater than the distance between them, ie greater than the width of the central part 27. The double handle layers are therefore parallel to one another and parallel to the line y - y. Their folds run in the direction of foil V. As can be seen, the Distance between the double handle layers occupied by the flat lying central part 27. The latter later forms the folding lid part 4. Now the middle part is folded in, forming the inner fold 24 along the center line y-y. This results in the configuration according to FIG. 3. With regard to the double grip layers 36, 37, the surface parts 9, 10 are outside. By pressing all parts together, these parts 9, 10 are placed one on top of the other, the two handle double layers 36, 37 being able to be connected at their apex with a seam 16. Furthermore, vertical weld seams 20, 21 are made together with a cut to length, as is required for individual bag pieces, the configuration according to FIG. 5 being obtained. Furthermore, a grip contour is punched and welded to the double grip layers, the recesses 18, 19 resulting, and the grip recess 13, as can be seen in FIG. 5. In addition, two seams 28, 29 are provided below the handle recess 13 in the manufacturing phase according to FIG. 4, which seal the double handle layers 36, 37 against the inside of the bag. However, these seams are not absolutely necessary for the function of the carrying bag.

After filling and cuboidal padding, a bag according to FIG. 6 is obtained.

Beispiel 2:Example 2:

Starting from FIG. 2, a film web 16 'is laid out in the running direction W. In this film, the opposite edges 31, 32 are smooth. The film web 16 'lying in the running direction W is divided into repeat lengths. Here folds are folded out transversely to the running direction W and transversely to the center line z-z, so that double grip layers 36, 37 result. The distance between the two handle double layers is again occupied by the middle part 27. The double grip layers 36, 37 are repeated at repeat intervals.

The middle part 27 is folded transversely to the center line z-z to form a kink. Subsequently, the surface parts 9, 10 lying outside with respect to the double grip layers 36, 37, which each belong to a repeat length and form their beginning and end, are placed one on top of the other. Weld seams are made on the vertical edges of the surface parts and the handle contour is punched and welded.

Auch bei dieser Verfahrensvariante ergibt sich ein Beutel gemäß Figur 6.Apart from the different running directions of the foils and the orientation of the double grip layers 36, 37 with respect to the running direction, the method steps are the same, so that reference can be made to the already explained FIGS. 3 to 5. A bag according to FIG. 6 also results in this method variant.

The sequences of work steps mentioned in Examples 1 and 2 are advantageously suitable for the largely continuous and on-line production of the packaging bags 1 described at the outset and their subsequent filling. The film web 26 can be printed continuously in the register. It is not necessary to insert side strips. The filled bag has a high dimensional stability. The bag can be opened in a simple manner. It is particularly advantageous if the two double layers of handles are not fastened to one another, but only lie loosely on top of one another, possibly connected to one another by a detachable adhesive seam.
