Description

Most commercial vehicles, and in particular heavy goods vehicles, have closings in their rear part which are supported by hinges allowing 270 ° pivoting of said doors so that they are folded against the lateral sides of the vehicle during loading and unloading.

However, US-A-4 286 810 discloses a manual locking device which can be used for fixing a truck door in the open position during loading and unloading operations. This document has thus been used to state the preamble of claim 1, the characterizing part of which indicates the technical characteristics which, in conjunction with the characteristics indicated in the preamble, are those for which protection is sought.

The stop device of the invention is intended to keep the doors in their maximum open position, and this device is designed so that it can be retracted below the vehicle when the doors are closed and without 'there is to exercise other actions than pulling and rotating a handle by a chosen angle, for example 90 °.

The device of the invention makes it unnecessary to provide any lock to maintain it in the working or rest position, which eliminates any risk of false operation.

The embodiment of the device of the invention also makes it possible to mount it by simple screwing on vehicles with very different characteristics. In an advantageous embodiment, the screwing is provided so that anti-corrosion products of the vehicle, for example a layer of zinc, are not damaged during the installation of the device.

Various advantageous features of the invention also emerge from dependent claims and of the following detailed description, in which embodiments are shown, by way of nonlimiting examples, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Fig. 1 is a perspective of the rear part of a heavy goods vehicle fitted with the door stop device according to the invention.

1.Fig. 2 is a perspective of the stop device appearing in FIG. 1.

2.Fig. 3 is a partial section seen substantially along line III-III of FIG. 2.

Fig. 4 is a sectional elevation illustrating an alternative embodiment.

4.Fig. 5 is a section taken on the line V-V in FIG. 4.

5.Fig. 6 is a section through a variant of FIG. 5.

La fig. 1 montre la partie arrière d'un véhicule poids lourd 1 qui est fermé au moyen de portes 2, 3 pouvant être pivotées d'un angle de 270° afin d'occuper une position pour laquelle elles ferment le véhicule, comme montré pour la porte 2, ou une position pour laquelle elles sont disposées parallèlement à un côté latéral du véhicule, comme le montre la porte 3.Fig. 1 shows the rear part of a heavy goods vehicle 1 which is closed by means of doors 2, 3 which can be pivoted by an angle of 270 ° in order to occupy a position for which they close the vehicle, as shown for the door 2, or a position for which they are arranged parallel to a lateral side of the vehicle, as shown in door 3.

To avoid accidental pivoting of the door, placed between the lateral side of the vehicle, the latter is fitted with the door stop device 4 of the invention.

This device can occupy two positions, as illustrated in 4 and 4a. In the position illustrated in 4, the device presses against the internal face of the door 3 and in the position illustrated in 4a, this device is pivoted by 90 ° and is placed below the vehicle.

2 and 3 show a preferred embodiment of the device 4.

A support 5, for example made of sheet metal folded substantially in the shape of the letter U, is fixed under the vehicle 1, for example by means of screws passed through holes 6.

The support 5 is provided, in its branch 5a, with a guide 7 for a rod 8.

The support 5 has, in its second branch 5b, a lumen 9 having at least two rectilinear sides 10 and 10a.

3.The rod 8 is of polygonal section, for example square, the edges being advantageously cut down as illustrated in FIG. 3.

The width of the rod 8 corresponds to the space separating the straight sides 10, 10a, so that these ensure the guiding of the rod by sliding with gentle friction.

The other end of the rod 8 is provided with a support handle 13, the end 13b of which is curved, and provided with a flexible stop 14, for example made of polyethylene.

The enlarged part A of fig. 2 shows that the rod 8 has a segment 15 of circular section, the diameter of which corresponds to or is slightly smaller than the length of one side of the square formed by said rod 8.

The segment 15 of circular section is formed on the rod 8, at a location thereof which corresponds to the position of the lumen 9, when said rod 8 is pulled in the direction of the arrow f₁ and the spring 12 is compressed so that its turns are contiguous or practically contiguous.

2 and 3, it can be seen that the handle 13 can be pivoted when the circular section segment 15 is brought into the lumen 9; this allows, for example, to bring the handle 13 from the position illustrated in 4 to the position illustrated in 4a.

Then, when traction is no longer exerted on the rod 8 via the handle 13, the spring 12 causes said rod 8 to slide in the opposite direction to bring it into abutment against the door 3, or up to when the spring 12 brings a heel 13a of the handle 13 against a lug 16 forming a stop, heel which the support 5 presents.

The rod 8 is of square section. It can only occupy positions offset by 90 ° in order to be able to slide in the light 9, and, consequently, it is ensured that the handle 13 remains in an angularly stable position, when it occupies either the position illustrated in 4, or the position illustrated in 4a.

It is advantageous that the spring 12 is always at least under slight stress to prevent the rod 8 and the handle 13 from oscillating longitudinally when the vehicle is moving.

De même, il est avantageux que les extrémitées du ressort 12 soient fixées, d'une part, à la butée 11 et, d'autre part, à la branche 5b, tout en faisant que ledit ressort soit légèrement contraint en torsion, pour éviter également que des vibrations prennent naissance, notamment entre la tige 8 et les côtés de la lumière 9.Likewise, it is advantageous for the ends of the spring 12 to be fixed, on the one hand, to the stop 11 and, on the other hand, to the branch 5b, while causing said spring to be slightly torsional, to avoid also that vibrations arise, in particular between the rod 8 and the sides of the light 9.

4 to 6, the support 5 comprises two flanges 17, 18 joined by a bar 19 having threads for pressure screws 20.

2 pour recevoir la tige 8 et le ressort 12.The flanges 17, 18 are arranged at their base in the same way as the branches 5a, 5b of the support 5 illustrated in FIG. 2 to receive the rod 8 and the spring 12.

To constitute a rigid support, the flanges 17, 18 are connected by a tube 21 through which the rod 8 passes.

5 and 6 show that the flanges are shaped in the manner of a clamping press, delimiting a housing 22 partially closed by a heel 23.

Fig. 5 shows that sleepers 24, 25, ... etc forming part of the chassis of the vehicle 1 and having various shapes can be inserted into the housing 22 of each flange. The heel 23 ensures the centering of the flanges relative to the crosspiece which abuts against the heel and the pressure screws 20 ensure the fixing when they are tight. This embodiment avoids any drilling or welding of the cross members of the vehicle and, consequently, any deterioration of the anti-corrosion materials which may cover them.

In fig. 5, the bar 19 connects the flanges 17, 18 above the housing 22 while in FIG. 6 the bar 19 is arranged below the housing 22 to facilitate the tightening of the screws 20 when the crosspiece to be tightened has a complex shape.

The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments, shown and described in detail, since various modifications can be made thereto without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
