Abstract

A packaging container is provided, whose manufacturing materials, preferably solely paper and plastic, can be separated from one another for disposal of the container. For this purpose, the sleeve-type main part of the body consists of a paper winding and a web of plastic which is neutral in relation to the contents, is connected to the inside of the paper winding and has such strength that the paper web can be removed from the paper winding during disposal. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a packaging container for liquid or solid contents to be removed in portions, for example tea, tobacco, fruit juices, oil, etc., according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Such packaging containers are known in a wide variety of designs (for example from GB-A-2 176 457). Often, the container sleeve consists of a cardboard tube, which is laminated on the inside with an aluminum foil. The container opening is usually closed with an aluminum membrane that can be torn open, whereupon a lid made of plastic is put on or screwed on. After the filling material has been filled in, either a tinplate or an aluminum base or a cardboard disc also laminated with an aluminum foil is used for the bottom closure. Although these known containers are comparatively inexpensive and ensure the required neutrality with respect to the contents, their disposal presents considerable difficulties. So it is not possible to remove the thin aluminum lamination of the cardboard tube and possibly the floor for disposal; As is well known, it is of the utmost importance for environmentally friendly and yet economical disposal to be able to dispose of different materials separately. Now would be Although a separation of cardboard and aluminum is possible if a much thicker aluminum layer (aluminum sheet) would be used instead of the thin aluminum lamination foil, the manufacturing costs would increase considerably. Biodegradable containers are disclosed, for example, by US-A-3 800 977
The object of the present invention is therefore to design a packaging container of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that, despite comparatively low production costs, the production materials for disposal can be separated and disposed of separately, but the number of production materials should also be kept as low as possible. The solution to this problem results from the characterizing features of patent claim 1.

Appropriate embodiments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims. Claim 4 is particularly important because it includes a tamper-evident device which, in contrast to the previously known tamper-evident devices, allows the originality to be recognized without touching the packaging container.

The container consists of a cylindrical sleeve 10, a circular disc-shaped base 11, a circular disc-shaped Cover 12 and an annular tamper-evident device 13. The sleeve 10 has, as the main load-bearing component, a paper wrap 14 constructed from a plurality of paper layers 14a, which is encased on its outer surface by a single-lane paper web 15, which generally serves as a label. On the inside, the paper roll 14 is covered by a tubular plastic sheet 16.

The paper roll 14 can consist of any paper, but preferably of comparatively strong recycled paper. The paper layers can be wound coiled or parallel, the number of paper layers and thus the winding thickness being selected according to the respective requirements and strength (size of the container). The individual layers of paper are connected to one another by an adhesion promoter 17, which is said to be biodegradable. The outer label paper web 15 consists of a printable paper, preferably also recycled paper, this paper web 15 being connected to the paper roll 14 by means of the same biodegradable bonding agent 17. The inner sheet 16 consists of a plastic that is as tasteless and odorless as possible, for example polyethylene, polyethylene tesophthalate, polypropylene, oyypolypropylene, polyhydroxybutyric acid. The density of the plastic sheet 16 is in the order of 90 microns; a much greater thickness is generally not required and would only lead to increased manufacturing costs, whereas a much smaller thickness would make it more difficult or impossible to detach the plastic web from the paper roll during disposal, which will be discussed later. Plastic web 16 and paper roll 14 are connected to one another by a suitable adhesion promoter 18, which should also be biodegradable, for example based on dextrin or polyvinyl alcohol.

The bottom 11 consists of odorless and tasteless plastic, for example of the same plastic as that Plastic sheet 16. A flange ring 11a protruding from the bottom 11 into the interior of the container rests under pressure on the inner surface of the plastic sheet 16; an adhesion promoter, such as the adhesion promoter 18, connects the edge of the paper roll 14 to the edge of the bottom 11. The cover 12 also consists of odorless and tasteless plastic, such as the plastic of the plastic sheet 16. The edge 12a of the cover lies on the upper edge the sleeve 10, and the top surface 12b projects downward (into the interior of the container) over an annular flange 12c, a layer 19 consisting of a plastic microlabyrinth seal being applied to the outside of the annular flange 12c. Finally, the cover 12 has a gripping ring 12d, which is referenced upwards and inwards, which facilitates the fitting and removal of the cover 12 from the sleeve 10.

The tamper-evident device 13 is made of plastic and is shaped so that it extends over the cover 12 and over the upper outer edge of the sleeve 10. The tamper-evident device 13 is connected to this upper sleeve edge by means of a biodegradable adhesion promoter. As can be understood from the drawing, the cover 12 can only be removed by destroying the fuse 13, for which reason the fuse 13 either consists of thin-walled, easily breakable (brittle) plastic or has a predetermined breaking point.

During manufacture, the sleeve 10 is first manufactured and the base 11 is attached to the sleeve and connected to it. The corresponding good is then filled into the interior of the container and the lid 12 is attached. Finally, the tamper-evident device 13 is placed over the cover 12 and glued to the upper outer edge of the sleeve 10. Of course, it can also be done in such a way that first the sleeve 10 is manufactured, then the cover 12 is attached, the tamper-evident device 13 is shrunk on and, if necessary glued to the sleeve 10, the corresponding good filled into the interior of the container and finally the bottom 11 is inserted. As a result of the structure described, the goods in the container only come into contact with the odorless and tasteless plastic, but not with bonding agents or other materials. Furthermore, the goods inside are sealed airtight and moisture-proof.

The advantage for the buyer is that the latter can determine, without touching the container, whether the container is still originally closed, because both the fuse 13 and the cover 12 are freely visible; this is in contrast to the most common metal membrane fuse covers, which are only visible after removing the cover cap.

For the disposal of the emptied container, there is the great advantage that it not only consists of two materials, namely paper and plastic, but these two materials can also be separated from one another in a comparatively simple manner. The fact that - as mentioned - the inner plastic web 16 has a not inconsiderable tape thickness and is applied with a special adhesion promoter, it can be removed from the paper roll 14 without difficulty, which then results in a paper waste, namely paper roll 14 with an outer label web 15, and a Plastic waste, namely inner track 16, bottom 11, cover 12 and possibly a rest of the fuse 13 results. The two waste parts can then be disposed of for their material-specific disposal.

Of course, the container described can undergo numerous modifications within the scope of the claims without leaving the scope of the invention. For example, the bottom 11 can be made of paper (cardboard) with an inner composite layer of plastic, provided that the plastic layer has such a thickness, similar to the inner sheet 16, that it can be removed from the cardboard. It is also conceivable that the bottom 11 is a metal disc is, the container then consisting of three materials (paper, plastic, metal), but there is still the advantage that the three materials can be separated from one another during disposal. The same also applies to the lid 12. The dimensions, wall thicknesses and the type of plastic coming into contact with the filling material are to be adapted to the particular application and intended use; For example, the tea filling is odorless, the fruit juice filling the acid resistance and the mineral water filling the gas tightness plays a special role.

This plastic tamper-evident device 13 is formed by a shrink tube which is placed over the packaging container and shrinks by heating and thereby lies against the cover 12 and the upper edge of the sleeve 10. The connection between sleeve 10 and tamper-evident device 13 is expediently strengthened by an adhesion promoter. The tamper-evident device 13 is provided with perforations 19a and 19b, which are formed by punching out before the shrinking process. The predetermined breaking line 19a is circular and lies in the plane between the cover 12 and the upper edge of the sleeve 10. The predetermined breaking points 19b run radially above the upper edge of the cover and are applied every 45 °. 2A and 2B ensures that the cover 12 cannot be removed without damaging the tamper-evident device 13 and, on the other hand, can be torn open and removed easily and effortlessly if desired.
