Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention is based on a container lid according to the preamble of claim 1. A lid of this type, which has become known, for example, from US Pat. No. 4,267,937 (FIG. 6), consists of a relatively thick carrier layer, molded with a thermoplastic material, with the inside of which is relatively thick thin plastic layer as a barrier and sealing layer is connected by means of a lacquer. For easy opening of the cover, a weakening line surrounding a tear-open part is arranged in the carrier layer, which passes through the plastic layer and which is formed during molding. Such a container lid is expensive due to the way it is manufactured. First of all, the carrier layer is injection molded as an outer part in a mold, which is very time-consuming and expensive. Then a plastic plate is connected as a barrier and sealing layer to the carrier layer by means of a lacquer. To do this, the carrier layer and the plastic plate must be brought together in the correct position and pressed together. Furthermore, the known lid has the disadvantage that folds form when the plastic plate is applied to the angled sealing flange of the lid, which folds can impair the gas-tightness of a container closed with such a lid.

Also known from DE-B-2023923 is a container lid with an opening part surrounded by score lines, which is formed from a metal / plastic laminate. This cover has a relatively thick carrier and barrier layer made of a metal plate, with the inside of which a relatively thin plastic layer is bonded as a corrosion and protective layer. The notch lines surrounding the tear-open part are stamped into the thick metal plate on this cover. The well-known lid is probably stiff and tight, but it is very expensive due to its high metal content.

Aufgabe und Lösung der ErfindungObject and solution of the invention

The invention has for its object to provide an easy-to-open container lid that is stiff, firm and tight and that can be easily formed from a laminate strip.

Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention

The container lid according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that it can be formed in large numbers from a commercially available plastic / metal laminate strip without wrinkles by deep drawing and the weakening line delimiting the tear-open part can be produced in a simple manner. In addition, the thickening in the beads on both sides of the line of weakness provides good guidance when tearing open the tear part and prevents the crack from running. Depending on the configuration of the cover, the lines of weakness can be pressed quickly and precisely into the plastic carrier layer using a heated notching tool before or after molding.

The measures listed in the subclaims permit advantageous developments of the container lid specified in the main claim. According to claim 3, a grip tab made of a heat-sealable plastic, which is sealed to the outer carrier layer of the tear-open part, is particularly advantageous and makes it easier to tear on.

Beschreibung der AusführungsbeispieleDescription of the embodiments

A packaging container with a body 10 made of a multilayer packaging material is closed at its upper opening with a lid 11 which has an easy-to-use opening device for removing the contents. The fuselage 10 and lid 11 have a floor plan in the form of a square with rounded corners. The cover 11 has a U-shaped edge fold 12 which engages around the opening edge of the fuselage 10 and is sealed or welded to it. It is formed by deep drawing or deep drawing.

A multilayer composite material is used for the production of the cover 11, which has an outer layer 14 made of plastic, a middle layer 15 made of metal, preferably aluminum, and an inner layer 16 made of a heat-sealable plastic. The individual layers can be connected to one another by means of a lamination adhesive. The outer layer 14, which gives the lid its stiffness and strength as a carrier layer, is about 100 to 400 microns, preferably 200 microns thick and consists of a thermoplastic such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyester (PETP), polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC) or the like. The middle layer 15, which contributes to a high tightness of the cover, consists of an aluminum or steel foil with a thickness of 20 to 40 pm. The inner layer 16, which is used for heat sealing or welding to the fuselage 10 and acts as an insulating layer, has a thickness of approximately 50 μm and consists of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC), polyester (PETP) or also from a heat seal lacquer.

The opening device in the cover 11 has a removable tear-open part 20 which is surrounded by a line of weakness 21. The tear-open part 20 can have different shapes, for example a circular area (FIG. 1) for inserting a drinking straw, teardrop shape (FIG. 2) or a full tear-open area adapted to the lid level (FIGS. 4 and 5).

The weakening line 21 is only arranged in the outer carrier layer 14 and passes through its thickness in the form of a notch 22 completely or almost completely. The notch 22 is hot-stamped into the carrier layer 14 by means of a heated notching tool, plastic being melted and displaced under the action of pressure and heat. In this case, bulges 23, 24 protruding on both sides of the notch 22 of the weakening line 21 over the plane of the upper side of the carrier layer 14 (FIGS. 2 and 6). The thickening of the carrier layer 14 next to the notch 22 produced by the beads 23, 24 contributes to the fact that when the tearing part 20 breaks out or is torn out, the break runs along the weakening line 21 and does not run out of it.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, two circular tear-open parts 20 are arranged, one of which is provided for forming a pouring opening and the other for forming a ventilation opening. The diameter of the circular weakening line 21 is larger than that of a drinking straw, so that a drinking straw can be placed on the tear-open part 20 and the pull-open part 20 can be broken out of the lid mirror by applying pressure, the middle metal layer 15 and the inner plastic layer 16 being only a controllable one To offer resistance. In order to stiffen the tear-open part 20, it can be bulged outwards, as the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6 shows.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, the tear-open part 20 has a teardrop shape. To tear off the tear-open part 20, a heat-sealable grip tab 25 made of a plastic plate is welded to the plastic layer 14 by means of a welding field 26 at its narrow end.

In the case of the cover 11 according to FIG. 4, the line of weakness 21 runs parallel to the fold edge 12 in order to completely remove the cover mirror and additionally forms a drop-like starting section 27 to which a grip tab 29 is connected by a welding point 28.

The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 has a rigid double lever 30 with a breaking edge 31 in the starting area as a grip tab, covering a part of the weakening line 21. The double lever 30 is connected to the outer plastic layer 14 by means of a welding line 32 which forms the axis for the double lever 30 . When the free, longer arm 33, which is opposite the shorter arm 34 with the breaking edge 31, is pulled up, the weakening line 21 is torn inward in the region of the breaking edge 31. When the double lever 30 is pulled further, the entire tearing part 20 is then separated from the cover 11.

Some exemplary embodiments for the design of the tearing part, which is surrounded by the hot-notched weakening line, have been explained above. However, other design forms are also possible within the scope of the invention, including those in which the line of weakness is not self-contained, so that the tear-open part remains connected to the remaining part of the cover for reasons of environmental protection.

Furthermore, a composite material with three layers is specified for the production of a cover according to the invention. Within the scope of the invention, however, the use of composite materials with a different structure is also possible, in which, however, the carrier layer consists of a thermoplastic and the melting temperature of the adjacent layer is higher than that of the carrier layer.

The lines of weakness can be hot stamped into the strip material used to manufacture the lids prior to forming the lids or into lids already formed.
