Abstract

An easy-to-open package is provided, in which at least one part is made of a sandwich film with peel-off or break-out characteristics of certain layers of the sandwich film, the break-out or peel-off process being limited by an additional narrowly bounded notching (70; 86) to a region which is narrowly bounded in the longitudinal direction of the sealing line and is preferably assigned to the intersection region between a gripping tab (65; 78) from the lid material and the sealing line (63; 76). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to an easy-to-open single or multi-chamber packaging with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

Such an easy-to-open packaging is known from DE-A-36 13 155. This shows an easy-to-open packaging made of plastic, in which at least the cover part consists of a multi-layer composite film and forms a sealed seal connection with the flange area of the lower part. The cover part has a grip section projecting beyond the edge flange of the lower part. With this, the cover part can be pulled off the lower part. In the known case, the arrangement is such that the adhesion between the layers of the lower part and the cover part connected by seals is so great along the edge flange that the sealing cannot normally be broken by the tensile forces acting on the grip tab for opening. On the other hand, the composite material of the cover part is designed so that the internal adhesive force between the layers of the composite material is significantly less than the aforementioned seal adhesive force. The result is that when the pull tab is opened to open the packaging, at least the inner layer of the composite material of the lid part peels off from the remaining layers of the lid part along the sealing line of the edge flange, with a notch line running along the inner edge of the sealing zone which only penetrates the inner layer of the composite material, it is ensured that this peeling process along the edge flange is only limited to the width of the sealing zone following the edge flange (cf. also German utility model 69 01 362).

The known packaging described ensures on the one hand a firm and tight connection between the cover part and the lower part. On the other hand, it requires little Opening force compared to packaging in which the adhesive force of the sealing line must be overcome to open. However, practice has shown that even with this packaging considerable forces are still required to open the packaging, since the lid part has to be peeled off over the entire length of the sealing line.

The invention has for its object to develop an easy-to-open single or multi-chamber packaging with the features of the preamble of claim 1 so that the opening process is still much easier without affecting the tight and hermetic seal of the sealed packaging and so for children or women can run without difficulty.

This object is solved by the features of claim 1.

In the case of the packaging designed according to the invention, the lower part and the cover part no longer need to be separated from one another along the sealing zone of the edge flange. Rather, the lower part and the cover part remain firmly connected to one another in this area. Rather, to open the cover part is cut along a line of weakness, which is provided within the sealing zone in the cover material. In contrast to the score line in the packaging, this weakening line is designed in accordance with the aforementioned German Offenlegungsschrift 36 13 155 in such a way that it ensures that the cover part is completely torn along the weakening line and under the effect of the tensile force acting on the grip tab. This line of weakness also extends in alignment with the two side edges of the grip tab. The line of weakness thus delimits the region of the cover part that can be torn off, including the grip tab connected in one piece with it. The scoring line provided in addition to the weakening line in the part of the packaging consisting of a multilayer composite film encloses the intersection area between the sealing zone and the grip tab. This additional scratch line is arranged and designed so that in the area enclosed by the scoring line when opening the packaging and when pulling on the grip tab, a layer area of the composite film belonging to the sealing zone peels off from the other layers of the associated composite material. To open it, only this narrowly delimited film area needs to be peeled off, while the actual opening of the packaging takes place along the weakening line that tears open. The handle tab can thus be separated from the sealing zone area with relatively little force, so that the forces required for tearing along the weakening line can then be easily applied via this area. At the same time, a hermetic seal is ensured in the defined intersection area by high sealing adhesive forces.

The same design as is provided for the crossing area of the grip tab with the sealing zone running along the edge flange of the lower part can also be provided for the crossing area of the grip tab with the sealing connection arranged along a separating web of the lower part of a multi-chamber packaging.

The additional score line can be provided in the edge flange of the lower part made of the composite film or, with particular advantage, on the underside of the cover part made of the composite film. In the latter case, the line of weakness delimiting the tear-open area of the cover part is introduced into the cover part from the top thereof. The advantage of this design lies in the fact that all weakening and scoring lines are only provided in the cover part and can therefore be incorporated into it in a single work step, which significantly simplifies production.

In the area of a corner of the approximately square lid part, the tear-open part is integrally connected to a grip tab 65 projecting over the edge of the lid part. The cover part 60 can be flat, as shown, or can be profiled in the desired manner. The cover film can also carry an outer layer of lacquer or the like, which is used for labeling or otherwise designing the outer surface of the cover.

The cover part 60 is firmly and sealingly connected to the edge flange 62 of a lower part 61, for example by gluing, welding or cold or heat sealing in a surface area which is oriented along a circumferential sealing line 63.
As shown in FIG. 5 in particular, the lower part is made of a composite film. This consists, for example, of three layers, namely an outer metal foil 73, a middle plastic layer 72 and an inner plastic layer made of weldable or sealable material. The middle layer 72 is selected such that the sealing layer 71 and the middle layer 72 can be delaminated from one another by peeling off under certain forces. Such composite films are known, for example, from DE-OS 36 13 155 mentioned at the beginning. If required, the outer aluminum layer 73 can also carry an outer protective lacquer layer.

As can be seen from FIGS. 4 and 5, an additional weakening line or scoring 70 is provided in the corner region of the edge flange 62 of the lower part, on which the grip tab 65 of the cover part projects beyond the packaging, which is shown in more detail in detail 69 according to FIG is. It can be seen that the scoring 70 encloses the sealing line 63 in the corner region and is only interrupted when the sealing line is crossed. The extent of the area delimited by the scoring 70 along the sealing line 63 is determined by the width of the grip tab 65 in the area of intersection with the edge flange 62. The arrangement is such that the adhesive force along the sealing line 63 is greater than the adhesive force between the layers 71 and 62 of the lower part. If the packaging is to be opened and a corresponding opening force is applied to the grip tab 65, the area of the layer 71 which is narrowly delimited by the scoring 70 remains firmly connected to the cover part 60 via the sealing line 63 and peels off Edge of the lower part 61, so that the grip tab can be easily detached from the lower part and then initiates the intended tearing of the cover part by introducing the tear force into the weakening line 64.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 6 to 9, the cover part 75 is made from a composite film. This can consist, for example, of an aluminum foil 84 with an outer protective lacquer layer 82, a delamination layer 85 and a heat seal layer 83. The tear area is limited by a line of weakness 77 lying on the outside of the cover part. The cover part 77 is sealed and firmly connected along the connecting or sealing line 76 to the edge flange 81 of the lower part 80. The cover part has a grip tab 78 which projects beyond the edge flange 81 of the lower part. In the area of intersection of the grip tab 78 with the edge flange, essentially self-contained scratching 86 is provided on the underside of the cover part, which concerns the sealing layer 83 and partly also the delamination layer 85. When the package is opened, the sealing layer 83 or the delamination layer 85 detaches from the layer 91 or breaks open under the force introduced by the grip tab 78. The connection along the sealing line 76 remains intact between the edge 81 of the lower part and the cover part, while the grip tab 78 detaches from this edge and enables opening by tearing the weakening line 77.
The details in the intersection area are shown again in cross section and on a larger scale in FIG. 10. It can be seen that the delamination does not necessarily have to take place between the layer 83 and the layer 85. Rather, termination can also take place within layer 85, as indicated in FIG. 10 and already mentioned above.

Beiderseits der Siegellinie verläuft die Ritzung 86.The lower part can also consist of a composite foil, e.g. an aluminum foil 90 with a sealing layer 91. The width of the sealing line is shown in a stronger line in the area of contact between the two parts. The score 86 runs on both sides of the sealing line.

It can be seen that such a narrowly limited separation area between the cover part and the lower part can not only be provided in the edge flange of the lower part. If the lower part is divided into two or more chambers by webs or ribs, the cover part is also welded to the top of the separating webs along a sealing line. Here, too, in the area of the webs, a narrowly defined intersection area can be equipped with a peeling behavior in the manner described with reference to the figures. This can e.g. be useful in order to allow the opening process to pass from one chamber area to the other chamber area only over limited surface areas of the webs.
