Definitions
- the invention relates to a surveillance camera with integrated support for monitoring public or private premises.
- Known surveillance cameras comprising a picture-taking device enclosed in a housing, are generally installed on a support independent of the housing and have visible input-output connection wires, which makes the camera vulnerable and subject to these acts of vandalism.
- they are generally not discreet, therefore easily identifiable and they are difficult, if not not at all, orientable which does not allow them to be installed anywhere. Their installation is not immediate and requires adequate tools.
- the object of the invention is to produce a discreet camera, resistant to vandalism, of easy installation without any tools, which can be easily oriented in all directions of space and is suitable for positioning on a wall or on a ceiling.
- FIG. 1 represents an exploded view of an exemplary embodiment of the camera according to the invention.
- the camera comprises a camera 10 and a housing consisting of an envelope part 40, called the shell, a support part 30 of the shell called the yoke and a fixing ring 51 supporting the yoke.
- the camera 10 consists of essentially an electronic circuit associated with an integrated optical system, 11, a lens 12, wires 13, 14 for connection of the electrical supply and the video signal.
- the yoke 30 forming a support comprises a bottom 31 and two cardan arms 32, 33 parallel; the shell 40 has a preferably spherical shape but can also have a cylindrical, parallelepipedic, or other shape and is intended to receive the camera 10.
- each half-shell 41, 42 has at its apex A an orifice, for example in the form of a truncated cone, of diameter adapted to accommodate the lens 12 of the camera 10 and to allow adjustment of the focusing of the image.
- Each half-shell 41, 42 has on its periphery two recesses 43 and 44 allowing the passage of the wires 13, 14 and the separation of the electrical supply wires from the wires transmission of video signals. These two recesses are preferably diametrically opposite.
- the yoke 30 is intended to receive the shell 40 between its two cardan arms 32, 33. It is hollow and has on its internal face, at the ends of the two cardan arms, an orifice 34, 35. These orifices 34, 35 are arranged so as to be opposite the two recesses 43, 44 of the shell 40 and make it possible to introduce inside the yoke 30, the wires 13, 14 for connecting the camera. In this way the wires are protected, invisible and difficult to access by malicious people. To ensure the locking of the shell 40 in the yoke 30, the bottom of the yoke is pre-stressed so that the two cardan arms 32, 33 tend to tighten and that friction is ensured between the two gimbal arms and the shell 40.
- connection wires 13, 14 In the external surface of the bottom 31 of the yoke 30 are provided holes allowing the connection wires 13, 14 to come out in order to be able to connect them by means of a strip of connections 50.
- the yoke can then be fixed, for example by a clip device, to a fixing ring 51 screwed by two screws 60 to the wall or to the ceiling.
- connection wires are not visible and the camera has the advantage of having the external appearance of a light spot. It is therefore difficult to spot and less subject to acts of vandalism.
- FIG. 2 represents a view of the camera housing showing its three axes of orientation, according to the invention.
- the structure of the housing allows easy orientation of the camera in all directions of space.
- the two recesses 43, 44 of the shell 40 are provided on their periphery with a shoulder 45, 46, protruding.
- the shoulders 45, 46 come to bear on the orifices 34, 35 which thus constitute a joint by which the shell can rotate.
- the shell 40 can therefore rotate around an axis U passing through its center and perpendicular to the two cardan arms 32, 33.
- the yoke can rotate around an axis V perpendicular to the axis U and parallel to the two cardan arms 32, 33.
- the camera can be moved along an axis W parallel to the surface on which it is fixed.
- Figure 3 shows a sectional view of the housing showing an example of motorization of the camera according to the invention.
- the camera being orientable along three axes, U, V, W, it can be motorized using two motors M1, M2, the motor M1 rotating the yoke 30 and the motor M2 rotating the shell 40.
- the motor M1 is for example fixed on a part integral with the fixing ring 51 and drives the yoke 30 for example using a toothed wheel 52 molded in the yoke 30.
- the motor M2 is for example fixed to the yoke 30 and drives the shell 40 by a mechanism comprising a toothed belt 53 and a gear 54.
- the camera can then be remote-controlled.
- the invention is not limited to the example precisely described, in particular it is not essential that the yoke has two cardan arms, a single cardan arm is sufficient. However, the two cardan arms ensure the friction of the shell and allow it to be blocked, whereas with a single cardan arm, a camera locking system must be provided.
- the camera described has two recesses 43, 44 on each half-shell, 41, 42, which makes it possible to separate the supply wires from the wires for transmitting video signals, but a single recess is sufficient, the essential characteristic being the integration of the wires inside the yoke 30 to reinforce the resistance of the camera against acts of vandalism.
