Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device intended to contain a liquid or pasty product to be dispensed without air intake, and to its manufacturing process.
  • the product in question can be a food product, a hygiene product, a cosmetic product, or any other product which must be stored away from air.
  • Such a product can be dispensed, with or without spraying, using a manual pump or by another device which does not allow air to enter a container containing the product to be dispensed.
  • the container must therefore be deformable so that its internal volume is always equal to the volume of product remaining to be dispensed.
  • a problem which can arise with any flexible bag is that it can deform by making many folds, and that its wall can come to obstruct the outlet for the product, before all the product it contains is consumed.
  • the object of the present invention is to avoid this drawback.
  • the present invention therefore relates to a device intended to contain a liquid or pasty product to be dispensed without air intake, constituted by the collaboration of a container containing the product to be dispensed and a container cover, said container being inserted.
  • a container containing the product to be dispensed and a container cover said container being inserted.
  • said canister cover and said canister cover consisting of a peripheral side wall extending between a bottom and a throttle through which opens a neck, characterized in that said canister cover has at least two ribs longitudinal facing each other, said ribs forcing the side wall, the bottom and the throat of the container to bend in the manner of an accordion.
  • the present invention may include such a device, in which the side wall of the container has six faces separated by edges, two opposite substantially parallel first faces of greater width than the other faces, the first two faces being of width substantially identical, the other faces all being substantially the same width and distributed in two pairs each separating the first two faces, each pair of lesser width faces being extended by a first bulge up to the constriction of the container and by a second bulge to the bottom of the container, and in which the edges and the bulges are of finer thickness than the other elements of the canister, and therefore are more flexible, so that the ribs of the canister cover can cause the faces of smaller width to enter the interior of the canister, the edges playing the role of hinge.
  • the two wider faces approach each other, remaining substantially parallel, while the other faces continue to return towards the interior of the container, tending to become parallel to said wider faces, and the bottom and the horizontal wall of the container continue to crease, except in the vicinity of the rigid neck where the first wider faces remain spaced apart from each other by a certain distance , so that almost all of the product contained in the container can be dispensed, without the walls of the container being able to close the neck prematurely.
  • the device can be supplemented by a dispensing pump, the deformation of the can caused by the ribs when it is placed in the can cover causing sufficient overpressure of the product to be dispensed to discharge into the pump, by priming said pump.
  • the canister cover may include a bottom and a neck intended to grip the neck of the canister, said canister cover being able to separate longitudinally into two halves in order to be able to place the canister inside of the bottle cage.
  • the two halves of the canister are fixed to each other by means of lips, overlapping when the two halves of the canister are joined, said lips being provided with a latching means.
  • the latching means may include a groove formed on the lip (s) of one of the halves of the canister, and a complementary rib produced on the lip (s) of the other half of the canister .
  • the bottom of the canister does not separate into two halves, and it is connected by a hinge to each half of said canister.
  • the present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the device according to the invention, in which the formation of the container comprises at least the step of blowing a compressed gas in a hollow preform having an open end and brought to a temperature sufficient for be deformable, said preform being arranged in a mold having the shape of the can to be produced, so that said preform expands until it matches the shape of the mold, characterized in that the parts of the preform corresponding to the edges and bulges of the final container are those which move the most from their initial position during the blowing step, so that the edges and bulges are the thinnest and most flexible parts of the container.
  • Figures 3 and 4 show an embodiment of a container 1 used in the device of the invention.
  • the container 1 comprises a bottom 3, from which extends vertically upwards a peripheral side wall 4, extended at an upper end by a horizontal wall 2a forming a constriction, through which opens a neck 2, substantially in the center of said wall 2a.
  • the container 1 has two perpendicular vertical planes of symmetry, referenced 41 and 42 in FIG. 4.
  • the side wall 4 comprises for example six faces, among which two opposite faces 5 can be of width greater than the other faces 6.
  • the two faces 5 are of identical width, and the faces 6 are all four of the same width.
  • the contiguous faces are joined by rounded or non-rounded edges 8.
  • the faces 6 are distributed in two pairs of contiguous faces. Each pair of contiguous faces 6 is extended upwards by a first bulge 11 to the horizontal wall 2a, and downwards by a second bulge 11 to the bottom 3.
  • the neck 2 is advantageously more rigid than the rest of the container 1. This result can be obtained by giving said neck 2 a thickness greater than the rest of the container 1.
  • the container 1 can be formed in one piece, in a single material having flexibility.
  • the can 1 can also have two assembled parts: the neck, which can be an insert formed for example of polyethylene, and the rest of the can 1, which can be formed from a more flexible material, for example a rubber mixture butyl and polyethylene.
  • the container 1 is made so that the edges 8 and the bulges 11 of the side wall 4 have a thickness less than the other areas of the wall 4, so as to have greater flexibility.
  • the edges 8 can thus play the role of hinge and allow the faces 6 to enter towards the interior of the container 1.
  • the bulges 11 can themselves enter towards the interior of the container 1, like fingers of gloves.
  • the can 1 is filled with a product to be distributed, of the kind in question.
  • the container 1 is associated with a rigid container cover 20, an embodiment of which is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
  • the container cover 20 simply consists of a peripheral side wall comprising four faces, defining a conduit.
  • two faces 31 facing each other are of width less than that of two other faces 32, and each of these two faces 31 of smaller width has a rib 21 arranged longitudinally, substantially in the center of the width of said face, and directed towards the inside of the canister cover.
  • the dimensions of the canister cover 20 are such that the canister 1 can be inserted inside.
  • the container 1 is held in the container cover 20 by any known means.
  • the canister cover 20 can for example be provided with a bottom at a lower end.
  • the device is completed by a conventional distribution means such as for example a manual or other actuated pump, mounted in the neck 2 and communicating with the interior of the container 1.
  • a manual or other actuated pump mounted in the neck 2 and communicating with the interior of the container 1.
  • the deformation of the container 1 is done regularly over its entire height, apart from the spacing imposed on the faces 5 in the immediate vicinity of the neck 2. There is therefore no risk that part of the wall 4 comes obstruct the neck 2 during emptying, which ensures that almost all of the product can be dispensed.
  • the canister cover 20 can for example be provided with a light or a transparent part allowing the user to see the canister 1 which is then itself transparent or translucent, in order to evaluate the quantity of product remaining in said can.
  • each half of the bottle cover 20 has, in section, substantially the shape of a U. From each half of the bottle cover 20, a latching lip 26, 27 directed towards the other half of the bottle cover may extend longitudinally over a certain distance along each longitudinal edge of said half of the canister cover.
  • the half 22 may comprise on each longitudinal edge a lip 26 of thickness substantially half the thickness of the wall, in continuity with the interior surface of the canister cover.
  • the lip 26 may for example comprise a fine rib 29 directed towards the outside of the canister cover.
  • the half 23 may comprise on each longitudinal edge a complementary lip 27, of the same thickness as the lip 26, in continuity with the external surface of the canister cover, said lip 27 having a groove 28 directed towards the inside of the canister cover. so that the lip 27 comes to cover the lip 26 and the rib 29 snaps into the groove 28 when the two halves of the canister are joined.
  • each half 22 or 23 ends in an upper end with a half neck, 33 or 34 respectively, these two half-necks coming to grip the neck 2 of the can when the two halves of the can cover 20 are united around a can 1.
  • each half 22 or 23 may have a lower end provided with 'a hinge 25 connecting said half to a bottom 24.
  • the hinge 25 may simply be an area of small thickness of material.
  • the faces 32 of the side wall of the canister cover then extend at their lower end by a return defining a housing 45 in which the bottom 24 can be placed.
  • the canister cover 20 opens and closes by rotation of the two halves 22 and 23 around the hinges 25 which each connect them to the bottom 24.
  • FIG 12 there is shown a section of a device according to the invention, comprising a canister 20 separable into two halves 22, 23 as described above and comprising a neck 33, 34 which encloses the neck 2 from the can.
  • the flexible container 1 defines an interior volume 56 which is filled with product to be dispensed, then a pump 52 is mounted in the neck 2, by any known means, for example by crimping a metal cap 55 on the neck 2 of the container and the neck 33, 34 of the canister cover.
  • the metal capsule 55 then locks the assembly of the two halves 22 and 23 of the canister cover 20.
  • the pump 52 has an inlet end 54 which communicates with the interior volume 56 of the canister 1, and a hollow sliding push rod 53 which allows both the actuation of the pump 52 and the emission of the product at the outlet of the pump.
  • the push rod 53 is generally capped with a push end piece 50, which itself can be provided with a protective plug 51 outside of periods of use.
  • the canister cover 20 can conventionally be produced by molding.
  • the can 1 can be produced by a blowing process, from a can preform 40 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the can preform 40 can have a generally hollow cylindrical shape and extend between a closed end 43 and an open end 44.
  • the preform 40 can be formed by any known method, for example by injection molding, in which case it is internally cylindrical over its entire height.
  • the preform 40 may be formed in one piece, or it may comprise an attached neck 2, possibly formed from a more rigid material.
  • the neck 2 may possibly be narrower than the rest of the preform 40.
  • the open end 44 of the preform 40 may have any external shape, for example a thread or one or more collars.
  • the preform 40 is heated, then it is introduced into a mold having the shape of the container 1 to be formed.
  • the preform 40 can also be formed during its introduction into the mold, using the so-called extrusion-blowing method: in this case, a tube of molten plastic is extruded, then one end of said tube is pinched by a part of the mold so as to close it by welding. As before, the preform 40 then extends between an open end 44 and a closed end 43.
  • the preform 40 is formed, when said preform 40 is in the mold and is at a temperature such that it is malleable, a pressurized gas, possibly hot, is introduced into said preform 40 by its end. opened.
  • a pressurized gas possibly hot
  • the wall of the container 1 becomes thinner the more the blowing forces him to move away from his initial position.
  • the edges 8 and the bulges 11 being the parts of the container 1 furthest from the preform 40, these are the thinnest parts of the container 1 and therefore the most flexible.
