Abstract
Description
It has long been customary to collect passenger vehicles in bulk transports from the manufacturer and take them to distribution centers. As far as these transports are carried out by rail, special transport wagons are used, in which two short-coupled halves of the wagon are loaded and unloaded from the front sides, by driving the cars with their own engine power from one head ramp over one wagon half to the other wagon half and possibly others similar cars get to their stand on the train. Unloading takes place in a corresponding manner. The railroad cars have two loading levels one above the other so that the cars can be transported in a double-decker arrangement. The outer end of the carriageway slab of the upper loading level of each wagon half can be pivoted downward, so that an loading or unloading ramp can be formed at one, at the other or at both ends for the loading and unloading process. The roadway plates may have U-shaped channels in cross section, which guide the vehicle wheels laterally.
The transport system has proven itself particularly well for the transport of new cars from the factory to the dealers, and these special cars are used in large numbers on the railroad.
For transport and, if necessary, storage in interim storage facilities in the open, the cars are prepared with special protective layers that are removed before being sold to the customer, which is usually done manually.
So far, one has been satisfied with this procedure, the number of cases of damage to the transported cars is limited, a need for change is currently not seen.
The reason for the present invention is the consideration that the car transport will expand in the manner described, with the consequence, on the one hand, of an intensified use of a possibly larger stock of special railway wagons of the type described. On the other hand, the concern does not appear absurd that with increasing Traffic and long journeys the risk of even willful damage to the transported cars is not to be dismissed from the hand and that the effort for the temporary preservation of the cars is objected to, be it because workers are becoming scarcer, more expensive or both, be it that the Use of preservatives is considered a waste of raw materials. These considerations, which in the current state of affairs do not have to be regarded as provoked by this state of affairs, are taken as an opportunity to think about the training or the redesign of a special wagon of the type described above as a closed car transport wagon, and it is the object of the invention, one to propose particularly appropriate training of a railroad car that can be manufactured as a closed freight car while maintaining the previous mode of transportation of cars.
This object has already been achieved insofar as a closed rail freight wagon is already known from FR-A-1 503 791, with which the transport of road vehicles in a double-decker arrangement is possible, so that the present invention of a railroad car for the transport of passenger cars according to the Generic term of
"gedeckten" Güterwagen zum Transport von PKW.The features of the invention for solving this problem result from the patent claims, the features according to the invention being claimed first for a more generally defined car transporter in general, then in a special form with which the invention is designed, and then increasingly also for iron cars define up to the car transporter currently in use, in which the invention can be used, be it in the construction of such a new one Wagons or when converting from the usual open to closed or "covered" freight wagons for the transport of cars.

A railroad car for the transport of passenger vehicles or vans or station wagons falling into this vehicle class, as it is used here, consists of two
The two car halves are coupled together by close coupling, practically any number of railway car units of the type shown with two short-coupled car halves can be coupled with one another in any way so that the loading and unloading of a subsequent car unit can take place via the preceding car unit.
According to the invention, each
In order to allow cars to enter the area between the two side walls, the
In order to be able to create enough space for movement when loading and unloading the upper loading level, but still being able to utilize the
At the ends facing each other, the two halves of the wagon are open, their interiors largely merge into one another, their loading levels continue one another. Each of the two car halves has its
Basically, the opening of the car halves in their outer ends and the corresponding closing, as well as the raising and lowering of the roof 6 can take place in any manner and independently of one another. It is only necessary to ensure that the desired operating states are reached. Suitable means for moving the parts are electric motors, hydraulic cylinders, cables with suitable transmission ratios and the like.
Appropriately and according to the invention, however, individual movement sequences are forcibly coupled to one another, so that a single control command triggers necessary movement sequences. Starting from the driving condition of the car with lowered roofs and closed
In the raised state, the lifting roof is locked by means known per se in order to relieve the hydraulic cylinders. Accordingly, the lifting roof is locked in the lowered state to prevent unintentional opening. In the raised position of the lifting roof, unhindered access to the car is also possible in the area of the upper loading level, maneuvering of the cars is possible, although the distance between the car and the lowered lifting roof is small; Overall, a corresponding range of movement can be achieved and appropriate facilities are easily accessible.
The side wall cladding can be made of stainless steel, galvanized sheet steel or aluminum. For reasons of corrosion protection, the framework should also be made of galvanized steel or stainless steel. The cladding panels are provided with beads and connected to the frame by rivets.
