  • the bead of water is deposited on roller 46, or one of the other transport rollers, and when the next sheet of film enters the drying station the bead of water can be deposited on that sheet of film to cause a defect known as water spots. Because the bead of water is removed from the film by the absorbent roller 56, water spots are greatly reduced or eliminated.
  • Roller 56 can be made entirely of an absorbent material or, if desired, the roller can comprise a solid inner body portion covered with a suitable absorbent material.
  • roller 56 By locating the absorbent roller below the normal film path 44 between rollers 40,42 and roller 46, water absorbed by roller 56 is not deposited on subsequent sheets as the travel along the horizontal portion of path 44. Therefore, water spots on film sheets are eliminated or greatly reduced, thus improving appearance and image quality. Also, roller 56 is rotated slightly in response to engagement by the tail end of the film so the roller presents a new, dry portion of the roller to the next sheet of film. In addition, warm air circulated through the drying station by tubes 54 will heat the absorbent material and remove water deposited onto the absorbent roller, thus drying the roller.

Claims (3)

  1. Prozessor (10) für Filmblätter mit Rollenanordnungen (12,14,16,18) zum nacheinander erfolgenden Transport des Films durch die Entwicklungs-, Fixier-, Wasch- und Trocknungsstation (13,15,17,19), wobei die Rollen zwei am Ausgang der Waschstation (17) angeordnete Quetschrollen (40, 42) aufweisen, die den Film in die Trocknungsstation (19) befördern, und die darin vorgesehenen Transportrollen (46, 50,52) von den Quetschrollen beabstandet sind und eine Bahn (44) für den aus den Quetschrollen austretenden Film bilden, wobei die Filmbahn einen an die Quetschrollen anschließenden ersten Abschnitt und einen nachfolgenden zweiten Abschnitt aufweist, der zum ersten Abschnitt in einem Winkel angeordnet ist, so daß bei Eintritt des Filmvorlaufendes in den zweiten Bahnabschnitt und Austritt des Filmnachlaufendes aus den Quetschrollen das Filmnachlaufende aus dem ersten Bahnabschnitt ausgelenkt wird,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in der Trocknungsstation außerhalb des ersten Bahnabschnitts (44) zwischen den Quetschrollen (40,42) und den Transportrollen (46,50,52) eine saugfähige Rolle (56) angeordnet ist, die den Film bei seiner von den Quetschrollen bewirkten Bewegung durch den ersten Bahnabschnitt nicht berührt, wobei die Saugrolle (56) zum ersten Bahnabschnitt so angeordnet ist, daß sie vom Filmnachlaufende (60) berührt wird, wenn dieses aus den Quetschrollen austritt und aus dem ersten Bahnabschnitt ausgelenkt wird, wodurch ein am Filmnachlaufende vorhandener Flüssigkeitswulst (62) von der Saugrolle entfernt wird.
  2. Prozessor nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Saugrolle zwischen einer der Quetschrollen (42) und der ersten Transportrolle (46) in der Trocknungsstation angeordnet ist.
  3. Prozessor nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Mittel (54) zum Erwärmen der Saugrolle vorgesehen sind, um diese zu trocknen.
