Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fastening device for a fin on a sailing board according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a fastening device is known from DE 89 14 336.1 U1.
  • the fin shaft and the receiving box form a conical seat in that the side faces of the fin shaft and the associated side faces of the receiving box are at an acute angle to one another.
  • the fin is held there by a snap mechanism in the fin box, whereby by exerting a force on the fin blade beyond a predetermined amount, this mechanism triggers and allows the fin to be pivoted out of the fin box.
  • circular recesses are provided on the front and rear edge of the fin shaft, into which cylindrical counter-surfaces of the fin box and the swivel mechanism engage. In relation to the longitudinal section of the fin shaft, the fin is only clamped by these cylindrical bearings.
  • DE 27 46 756 A1 and DE 31 14 898 A1 show fins rotatable about a pivot bearing, the shaft of which is circular is bent, the center of the circle coinciding with the position of the pivot point.
  • a fastening device for a fin on a sail board is described in the DE magazine “Surf- Magazine", issue 4/9, p.55-58, in which a receiving or fin box is laminated into the sail board.
  • the fin box has an opening pointing towards the underside of the sail board, into which a fin shaft is inserted and screwed there.
  • the ratio between the length of the fin and the length of the shaft was very large, for example 9 to 1, which results in a very unfavorable lever arm for fastening.
  • "Tuttle-Box” loc. Cit.
  • This ratio was made more favorable by extending the shaft.
  • the fin box is therefore higher and extends essentially through the entire thickness of the sail board.
  • the front and rear sides of the fin shaft are chamfered to enable the shaft to be inserted into the receiving box.
  • the object of the invention is to improve the fastening device mentioned at the outset in such a way that, with improved stability, it enables the fin to be easily removed from the fin box when it comes into contact with ground or on another obstacle or for normal dismantling.
  • This conical seat provides a large-area contact area between the side surfaces of the fin shaft and the associated surfaces in the opening of the receiving box. In this way, a firm, play-free fit is achieved on the one hand and at the same time the surface pressure of the touching parts is reduced, which increases the overall strength. Due to the cone seat, the full area is also supported so that the full length of the fin shaft is available as a lever arm.
  • the cone angle between a side surface and the main axis is preferably 6 °.
  • the front (based on the direction of travel) of the fin shaft is curved in the form of a segment of a circle. This ensures that the fin can be easily rotated backwards when it comes into contact with ground or another obstacle in relation to the direction of travel. As particularly cheap a radius of 120 mm has been found for the curvature of the front.
  • the back of the fin shaft is chamfered, preferably at an angle of 1 °.
  • the upper side of the shaft is also inclined from the front to the rear (based on the direction of travel), preferably at an inclination angle of 7.1 °. This ensures that the fin shaft is longer in the area of higher mechanical loads than in areas of lower load, which leads to the most even possible distribution of force on the fin shaft with the least possible use of material.
  • the fin shaft is preferably screwed to the receiving box, this screw preferably being made of plastic and having a precisely defined tear-off force. When touching the ground, this screw breaks and the fin is removed without further destruction.
  • a corresponding threaded insert for the screw is preferably inserted in a recess in the upper side of the shaft.
  • FIGS. 1 to 4 First, the first embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 4 will be described.
  • the fin 1 has a fin blade 2 and a fin shaft 3 integrally molded thereon.
  • the front side 4 of the shaft 3 pointing in the direction of travel is curved in the form of a segment of a circle, namely with a radius 11, which here is 120 mm.
  • the top 5 is inclined downwards from the front 4 to the rear 6.
  • the underside 7 of the shaft, on which the fin blade 2 is molded, extends in a straight line and perpendicular to a central axis 21.
  • each side surface 8 and 9 of the shaft run mirror-symmetrically with respect to the central axis 21 and taper to a point at a cone angle 10 towards the free end of the shaft.
  • the cone angle of each side surface is preferably 6 °.
  • the back 6 of the shaft 3 is tapered towards the free end of the shaft with a helix angle 12 of 1 °.
  • the front side 4, the top side 5 and the rear side 6 are - as can best be seen from the top view of FIG. 3 - mirror-symmetrically inclined to a central plane 19, the angle of inclination 20 between a perpendicular to the central plane 19 and the corresponding surface 14 ° is.
  • the helix angle 22 of the top 5 with respect to the bottom 7 is 7.1 °.
  • the height 15 of the front 4 measured perpendicular to the bottom 7 is preferably 49.5 mm.
  • the height 16 of the back 6 is 29.5 mm.
  • the length 17 of the bottom 7 is 160.2 mm.
  • the thickness 18 of the shaft 3 measured on the underside 7 is 16.1 mm.
  • Fig. 4 shows the receiving or fin box 23 with a receiving opening 24 for the fin shaft.
  • a receiving opening 24 for the fin shaft.
  • two webs 27 are provided in the bottom of the opening 25, which serve as a stop for the top 5 of the fin shaft 3.
  • the sleeve 26 projects into the interior of the opening 25, which is why the fin shaft has the depression 13. This sleeve serves to stiffen the fin box.
  • a plurality of projecting webs are provided, which serve for the positive anchoring of the fin box in the sail board.
  • FIG. 6 shows a variant in which the fin can be displaced translationally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sail board (cf. arrow 52).
  • the through opening 25 at the top of the receiving box is designed as an elongated hole.
  • the receiving opening 24 of the fin box 23 is longer than the fin shaft.
  • insert pieces 41 and 42 are provided which have different thicknesses, so that the position of the fin relative to the fin box can be precisely determined. The position can then be varied with a set of inserts of different thicknesses.
  • these inserts 41, 42 can have legs 54 and 55, which overlap the top of the fin shaft, and which at the same time also serve as a stop.
  • Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment which can be used in all the variants described.
  • the top of the receiving box is arranged sunk corresponding to the trough 13 (Fig. 1), so that there is a trough 37 on the outside of the receiving box.
  • This trough can be closed by a cover 38 which is sealed by a circumferential seal 39. This creates a hermetically sealed cavity that is used to hold tool spare parts etc.
  • the fin is secured by a safety rope 40 which is fastened on the one hand to the fin shaft and on the other hand to the receiving box. If the screw 48 tears off at its predetermined breaking point against an underwater obstacle, the fin is secured against complete loss by the safety rope 40.
  • the wedges can also be secured in a corresponding manner.
