Definitions

  • the invention relates to an edge cladding for thin window sills, with a plug-on body made of plastic, which forms a receiving slot for a bench edge with two parallel legs, wherein a longitudinal water drainage channel is present in the leg to be arranged under the bench, which at the front end of the Clothing has a water outlet, wherein a seal is arranged running continuously under the bench.
  • the invention has for its object to improve an edging with the features mentioned so that the installation of the edging in the window sill area and the assembly of the clothing with the window sills is facilitated by simpler construction of the edging, and that penetration of moisture in the wall below the windowsill is prevented.
  • This object is achieved in that the seal arranged below the window sill is arranged in the water drainage channel.
  • water penetrating into the bank receiving slot can be drained to the outside with the aid of a water drainage channel, that is to say to an area outside the horizontal window reveal, so that the water cannot cause moisture damage in the wall.
  • the lowest leg of the plug-on body is therefore used to effect drainage, which is possible without any problems since the clothing is known to be arranged obliquely downwards and outwards, so that water collecting in the recess is automatically removed from the area of the window reveal.
  • the edging is also designed so that a seal is arranged continuously running in its receiving slot for a bank edge. The seal prevents further moisture penetration.
  • the seal in the water drainage channel is arranged below the window sill, moisture can penetrate into the receiving slot via the upper outside of the window sill, but is prevented by the seal from penetrating into the reveal below the window sill and can be discharged through the water drainage channel. At the same time, the seal prevents any condensation water or moisture that might get into the receiving slot from being discharged into the masonry.
  • the invention is designed so that its leg to be placed under the bench is longer than the leg to be placed on the bench, which overlaps about half of the water drainage channel. As a result, a very long and therefore secure grip on the bench is achieved and, moreover, it is facilitated that the water drainage channel has the required large cross section.
  • the edge clothing is designed such that the plug-on body is profiled in a U-shape and has a lockable molded part between its legs, and that the bank receiving slot is present between this molded part and the inner surface of a leg of the plug-on body.
  • a U-shaped plug-on body has a lockable molded part between its legs having.
  • the push-on body can be arranged, aligned and fastened in the region of the window reveal or window sill without being assembled with the window sill.
  • the plastering work which may also serve to fasten the plug-on body, can already be carried out. Only then will the window sill installed and fastened to the push-on body by locking the molded part.
  • the bank receiving slot is present between the molded part and the inner surface of one leg of the push-on body. The bench slot is open when the molded part is not installed and is therefore accessible for the installation of the window sill.
  • the latching enables the windowsill to be removed again without any problem, without having to undo the attachment of the plug-on body on the wall.
  • This is of advantage, for example, if the window sill has been damaged or if sealing work has to be carried out in the area between the window frame and the window reveal, which would interfere with a window sill.
  • the molded part which is separate from a plug-on body, gives the possibility of influencing the optical appearance of the edge clothing as desired, for example by means of material or coloring in adaptation to the window sill and / or to the window frame.
  • the molded part can be designed so that the plug-on body is completely covered from the visible side.
  • the U-shaped profile of the plug-on body allows the molded part to be adapted to the various requirements of fastening, sealing and the appealing appearance.
  • the molded part is expediently latched elastically to the inner surface of the leg of the push-on body remote from the slot.
  • the latching is then removed from the area of the bank receiving slot and, regardless of this, can be designed according to the latching requirements.
  • a locking between the plug-on body and the molded part which is easy to manufacture and satisfies the locking requirements is achieved in that the molded part has a longitudinal rib which engages in a longitudinal groove of the inner surface of the leg of the plug-on body remote from the slot.
  • the molded part is profiled in a U-shape and its bottom is arranged adjacent to the bottom of the U-shaped plug-on body, this results in an expedient configuration of the molded part, in which an adjacent pair of legs of the plug-on body and the molded part of the latching and the other adjacent pair of legs of the plug-on body and the molded part can serve to accommodate the window sill, the pair of legs being able to be adapted to the respective specific requirements.
  • the edge cladding can be produced with comparatively large dimensions with little material expenditure.
  • the edging is designed in such a way that the molded part is supported on the inner surface of the slot-side leg of the plug-on body with a part of its outer circumference located at the bottom of the latching and / or the latching is profiled like a sawtooth.
  • Appropriate support of the molded part in the plug-on body stabilizes the positive connection of the two, although the locking is only present on one of its adjacent pairs of legs.
  • the latching can be adapted to the latching requirements by sawtooth-like profiling. If the steeper sawtooth flank is arranged at the end of the leg, the molded part can be installed more easily than removed. In the opposite case, the arrangement of the steeper sawtooth flank can be achieved comparatively easily. This application is required if the molded part is comparatively stiff, but it cannot be removed.
  • the window sill can be inserted perpendicular to the wall after installation.
  • the edge clothing is designed such that the legs of the U-shaped plug-on body remote from the slot and, if necessary, of the molded part are of a shortened design compared to the legs on the bank receiving slot side. In this case it is possible to avoid insertion slots.
  • the window sill can be inserted into the plug-on body from above, ie vertically or with a vertical component.
  • the extent to which the legs of the plug-on body and the molded part are shortened depends on the coverage of the bank edges by the receiving legs of the plug-on body and the molded part, which is necessary on the one hand for safe installation and on the other hand for the different thermal expansions of the clothing and the window sill caused by temperature fluctuations to dominate.
  • the slot-side leg of the U-shaped molded part is thinner than its other, serving the locking leg, which if necessary is provided with a flexibility point near the floor.
  • the thinner slot-side leg of the molded part makes it possible, particularly if the slot-side legs of the plug-on body and the molded part are longer than the slot-remote ones, to assemble the molded part with the plug-on body with less effort or deformation. If necessary, the assembly can be facilitated in that the leg serving for the latching is provided with the flexibility point, so as to facilitate the deflection of the latching.
  • the bench stop surface serves to arrange the window sill in a structurally correct position between two push-on bodies opposite one another at the ends of the bench. As a result of the bench stop surface, the window sill cannot be installed so far towards a reveal wall of the window reveal that the opposite edge does not engage or does not engage sufficiently in the opposite plug-on body.
  • the U-shaped is on the slot-side leg
  • a molded part is arranged on the slot side and on the side of the plug body remote from the slot on the molded part side.
  • Such a seal is required, for example, if the space located between the two main components of the clothing is not provided with a water drain, or if, for example, openings are present in the plug-on body which are connected to the reveal in a manner permitting water to pass through. It is advantageous if the window sill inserted into the plug-on body is acted upon elastically by the adjacent seal, since a particularly large sealing effect can then be achieved. This is also increased in that the legs of the plug-on body adjacent to the window sill resiliently rest against the window sill. At the same time, this improves the mounting of the window sill.
  • the edging is also designed so that the push-on body has a closing wall arranged transversely to the molded part on the window side, which has at least on its upper edge, at least in the region between shortened and unabridged adjacent legs of the push-on body and the molded part, a bank longitudinal edge insertion channel which is open at the bottom but closed on the window reveal side.
  • the vertical upward-facing longitudinal edge of the window sill is encompassed and prevents the edge of the bench from being unprotected or from getting moisture between the edge of the bench and the end wall, which, depending on the application of the edge covering, could be harmful.
  • the insertion channel must be present at least in the longitudinal area of the clothing free of the window reveal, i.e. in the area of the overlapping of the neighboring legs forming the slot over the latching neighboring legs of the push-on body of the molded part, in particular if the molded part has a bench cover wall covering the bank edge.
  • this is designed such that the molding on the end wall side with a protruding from the slot-side leg to the lower edge of the insertion channel and with the slot distal leg integrally connected bench cover is provided. In particular, this covers the front edge of the window sill's bend adjacent to the frame, which also reduces the risk of contamination.
  • the plug-on body is U-shaped or L-shaped and profiled in a U-shaped double leg. or L-leg has the receiving slot for the bench edge. If the leg arranged under the bench is recessed in the region of the front end which is remote from the window and is directed downward, any water present in the water drainage channel can easily flow out through the water outlet without coming into the region of the front end which covers the window sill. If the push-on body has a one-piece end wall, the edge protection can be ensured by a single push-on part.
  • the edging shown in FIGS. 1, 2 consists essentially of a plug-on body 10 and a molded part 12, which are assembled via a latch 18 and enclose a window sill 31 between them.
  • This edging is installed in such a way that the push-on body 10 is fastened perpendicularly to the window plane on a window reveal wall 32 arranged transversely thereto, specifically according to FIG. 1 with an inclination outward and downward.
  • the attachment to the window reveal 32 is carried out in an adapted manner, e.g. by screwing the plug-on body 10 at the point 33 according to FIG. 2 if a fastening e.g. is provided on a plate or profile wall 34.
  • the plug-on body 10 can also be plastered in and thereby fixed, the plug-on body 10 being able to determine the thickness of the plaster layer 35 above the window sill 31. In this case a screw connection is not necessary.
  • the fixing can also be done with a double-sided sealing strip, which also serves to compensate for uneven walls.
  • the end 36 of the edge cladding remote from the window can protrude perpendicularly to the window frame plane over the outer wall 37 of the building and has a leg 36 'directed downwards which has a leg 31''' of the window sill 31 correspondingly directed vertically downwards frontally clad so that the front is protected accordingly and has a handsome exterior.
  • the window-side end 38 of the clothing is provided with an end wall 26 which is provided on an upper edge 27 with a bank longitudinal edge insertion groove 28 around the uppermost longitudinal edge 31 'of a vertical bend 31''of the window sill 37 to spread.
  • the connecting wall 26 lies flat on the window frame 39 or a correspondingly arranged frame-parallel window reveal wall and is sealed there in the usual manner, for example by a sealing strip or a conventional seal, so that the space 40 under the edge cladding above the horizontal reveal 41 is protected against moisture.
  • the plug-on body 10 is profiled in a U-shape according to FIG. 2 and accordingly has two legs 13, 14.
  • the legs 13, 14 are arranged perpendicular to the window reveal and the bottom 17 of the plug-on body 10 connecting them to one another lies parallel to the window reveal, vertical to the frame plane 10, the representation plane of FIG. 2.
  • a U-shaped molded part 12 is arranged between the legs 13, 14, the bottom 16 of which is closely adjacent and parallel to the bottom 17 of the plug-on body 10.
  • This molded part 12 has legs 20, 21, which are each parallel and closely adjacent to the legs 13, 14 of the plug-on body 10, pointing in the same direction and thereby enclosing a material-free cross section 42 between them.
  • the legs 13, 20 form a bench receiving slot 11 between their mutually adjacent inner surfaces 13 'and 20'.
  • This slot 11 is delimited in the plane of the window sill by a bench stop surface 24, which prevents insertion of the window sill 31 between the legs 13, 20 can lead to the window sill 31 coming out of the slot of the edge cladding at the other end of the window sill can slip out.
  • the leg 13 of the plug-on body 10 is provided with a longitudinal water drainage channel 23 which extends to the front end 36 of the plug-on body 10, so that penetrated into the slot 11 or into the space between the plug-on body 10 and the molded part 12 or there, for example water formed by condensation can run off.
  • seals 25 In order to seal the space located between the plug-on body 10 and the molded part 12, it is possible to provide seals 25.
  • 2 shows a seal 25 which acts between the leg 20 of the molded part 12 and the upper outer surface of the window sill 31. Such a seal 25 is glued into a correspondingly large recess in the leg 20, for example.
  • a further seal 25 is between the legs 14, 21 of the plug-on body 10 or Shaped part 12 is present and can be glued into a recess of the leg 14 for fixing it.
  • the lower leg 20 of the molded part 12 is thinner than the lower leg 13 of the plug-on body 10. This is achieved by the recess in the slot-side inner surface 20 ′ of the leg 20 shown in FIG. 2, and this design serves to increase the leg 20 To give flexibility that is useful when the molded part 12 is assembled with the push-on body 10.
  • This assembly also serves the latching 18, which is provided between the adjacent legs 14,21. Near the free edges, a longitudinal groove is made in the leg 14 in its inner surface 14 ', while the leg 21 has a longitudinal rib 15 which engages in the aforementioned longitudinal groove.
  • the profile of the longitudinal rib 15 and the corresponding longitudinal groove is sawtooth-shaped, i.e. with a flank that is steeper than the other.
  • the steeper flank is arranged near the free edge of the respective leg 14, 21 in order to make it more difficult to release the catch 18.
  • a flexibility point 22 near the bottom 16 in order to facilitate the rebound of the leg 21. This flexibility point 22 is achieved by flattening the outer surface of the leg 21 towards the bottom 16.
  • the molded part 12 is supported on the inner surface 13 ′ of the leg 13 near the bottom 17 with a part 19 of its outer circumference, which is located in the area between the latching 18 and the bottom 17.
  • the support of the molded part 12 on the plug-on body 10 is form-fitting and secure against relative tilting, which could otherwise lead to easier release of the latching 18.
  • the neighboring legs 14, 21 are shorter than the neighboring legs 13, 20 of the plug-on body 10 or of the molded part 12. This serves to place the window sill 31 vertically on the leg 13 from above and in front to be able to, if the molded part 12 is not yet installed. With this installation, the upper edge 31 'of the vertical bend 31''of the window sill 31 inserted in the insertion channel 28 and thus hooked. As a result, it lies loosely on the leg 13, but cannot slide away from the window frame because the lower edge 29 overlaps the upper edge 31 '. It is possible to dimension the leg 21 longer than the leg 14 without thereby impairing the assembly of the molded part 12 with the plug-on body 10, the extension of the leg 21 being used to cover the free edge of the leg 14.
  • the molded part 12 is installed between the legs 13, 14 of the push-on body 10 by first inserting the part 19 of the molded part 12 as far as possible between the legs 13, 14. In the process, the leg 20 of the molded part 12 deforms, which is designed to be flexible as described above. Subsequently, the leg 21 is pushed into the plug-on body 10 using the flexibility point 22 until the latching 18 engages. The assembly is now complete.
  • the vertical edge 31 ′′ can also be covered by a bench cover wall 30 of the molded part 12, which connects the two legs 20, 21 on the window side and, according to FIG. 1, projects into the vicinity of the lower edge 29 of the insertion channel 28 .
  • the edge region of the window sill is shown in full dashed lines in FIG.
  • the window sill 31 is thin, so it consists of sheet metal, for example a sheet made of aluminum alloy. However, it is also possible to cover the end edges of plastic window sills in this way, which also solves the general problem of sealing the transition area between the window sill and the masonry against moisture.
  • the edge clothing for window sills shown in FIGS. 3 to 6 essentially consists of a one-piece plug-on body 10, the cross section of which according to FIG. 4 or 5 L-shaped or U-shaped. In both cases there is a floor 17 with which the plug-on body 10 can be attached to the window reveal surface 32 shown in FIG.
  • the attachment can be done by screwing, similar to what was shown in Figure 2, or during plastering, for which a plug-on body according to Figure 4 is preferably used.
  • a push-on body according to FIG. 5 is preferably used in connection with a reveal reveal.
  • the plug-on body 10 according to FIG. 3 is similar to the edge clothing according to FIGS. 1, 2 in that it has an end 36 remote from the window, which can protrude perpendicularly to the window frame plane over the outer wall of the building and has a leg 36 ′ pointing downwards.
  • This is hook-shaped on the inside and can accordingly grip around the lower longitudinal edge of a window sill 31, which is covered on the front side, that is on the window reveal side, by an end wall 36 ′′ which extends in the plane of the floor 17.
  • the window-side end 38 of the edge cladding or the plug-on body 10 has an end wall 26 which is attached flat to a window frame or to a correspondingly arranged frame-parallel window reveal wall and fastened and sealed in the usual way.
  • the cross section of the L-shaped or U-shaped plug-on body 10 shows that one of its legs, namely the horizontal reveal side in the installed position, is designed as a double leg 43. Its thigh 44 and its lower leg 45 enclose between them the bank receiving slot 11, which extends into the vicinity of the bottom 17 which is vertical in the installed position. 6 shows that the window sill 31 engages in the bank receiving slot 11, but does not extend to the floor 17, so that there is enough air between it and the slot end in order to be able to absorb changes in length of the window sill 31 due to thermal expansion.
  • the bank receiving slot 11 extends according to Figure 3 with a vertical section 11 'into the end wall 26, so that a window outer surface parallel Angle 31 '', cf. Fig.1, the windowsill 31 can be included.
  • a seal 25 ' is provided, which is arranged in the channel 23. It lies below the window sill 31 and is elastically compressed by this and the lower leg 35.
  • the channel 23 acts as a point of flexibility, so that the front edge of the leg 45 can dodge downwards.
  • Such elastic loading of the seal 25 ' presupposes that the leg 45 is designed to be prestressed when the window sill 31 is not inserted, that is to say it projects into the area in which the inserted window sill 31 comes to rest. It is of course possible to dispense with the elasticity of the lower leg 45, which is necessary if this leg 45 must lie flat on the window reveal. In this case, the pressing between the seal 25, the window sill 31 and the leg 45 is achieved by the elasticity of the seal 25 'and / or by a prestressed upper leg 44.
  • the arrangement of the seal 25 'in the water drainage channel 23 is advantageous because not only can penetrating water run off from the top of the window sill 31, but also water which has penetrated in another way, e.g. Water that has entered through condensation or leaks.
  • water drainage channel 23 and / or the seal 25 ' also deviate from what is shown can be.
  • the seal 21 for fixing the position in the longitudinal direction of the window sill 31 a special, shape-matched cutout in the lower leg 45 and to form the channel 23 regardless of the location of the seal 25 ′ near the floor 17.
  • the upper leg 44 only partially overlaps the lower leg 45, namely only about half the channel width, but in any case only to the extent that the seal 25 'easily from above into it intended recess or in the receiving channel 23 can be inserted. Thereafter, the window sill 31 with its end 31 IV can be easily inserted into the receiving slot 14, that is, without it abutting the seal 25 'when it is inserted.
  • edge cladding shown in Figures 1 to 6 are formed on one side, that is, they can be used for an end edge of a window sill.
  • window sills can be multi-part in length.
  • receiving slots 31 must be provided on both sides of the base 17 in order to be able to insert window sill parts in alignment from both sides. It goes without saying that the bottom 17 of the clothing with the cross sections of FIGS. 4 to 6 is shortened to the level of the upper leg 44, since the bottom 17 then no longer functions, except for the double legs 43 pointing in opposite directions connect.
  • the two legs to be arranged under each bank end can form a lower plate, which has two mutually parallel water drainage channels, while the two legs to be arranged above each bank end form an upper plate, the outer edges of which 6 come to lie about the middle of the channels.
  • the upper plate formed by the upper legs can be latched to the lower plate, for example via a plurality of mushroom-shaped coupling means distributed over the length of the upper plate, which engage in appropriately arranged hole-shaped coupling means of the lower plate.
  • An end wall for fastening the H-connector to the window or to a soffit wall parallel to the window can be connected in one piece to the lower plate.
  • this one-piece construction ensures secure attachment on the window side and secure attachment of the individual components of the edge cladding to one another.
  • 3 is in one piece and thus allows easy handling, the H-connector can preferably be in two parts, although one-piece design should not be excluded.
