Die Übergabe der Papierbahn vom vollen Wickel auf die leere Trägerachse erfolgt automatisch, ohne den Gesamtbetrieb voll unterbrechen zu müssen. Das Bewerkstelligen des Wickelantriebes über die Tragtrommel am Umfang des entstehenden Wickels ist mit gewissen Nachteilen hinsichtlich der Wickelqualität verbunden.
