Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • washing devices with one or more washing containers are known, which are passed through one after the other by the photographic material.
  • the regularly required supply of fresh water is introduced into the last of the washing tanks so that the lowest concentration of the chemicals of the treatment baths to be removed from the photographic layer is present there.
  • the overflow of the last washing container is then led into the washing container lying in front of it, so that the concentration of chemicals increases in the opposite direction of the photographic material.
  • This principle is known both from chemical process engineering and from heat exchangers as a countercurrent principle. Here are the The greater the number of successive treatment stages, the better the treatment results. However, the effort for such a treatment device also increases with the number of containers.
  • Such a device is known for example from DE-A-33 20 787, the effect of which is increased by the fact that on the inlet side of the photographic material there is arranged an overflow weir with drainage channel extending over the tank width, and a first one that extends over the tank width extending pair of rollers with an axis plane inclined with respect to the water level, a narrow gap remaining in comparison with the tank length remaining between the drainage channel and the roller of the pair of rollers adjacent to it, that in the lower part of the tank a spray tube parallel to the roller extending over the tank width for water supply with essentially after the outlet openings are arranged in such a way that the jet emerging from the spray tube is directed onto the gap between the drainage channel and the roller.
  • This device can also be used in a water-free processing process in which the final rinsing is replaced by treatment of the material with a stabilizing solution, but the increase in effectiveness compared to devices which do not have the spray tube is not so significant that the number of tanks for stabilizer treatment could be reduced.
  • a water-free processing method with stabilizer treatment as a final bath e.g.
  • 4 tanks for stabilizer treatment are arranged as a countercurrent cascade, which are operated with a regeneration rate of 248 ml / m2 and a residence time of 22.5 seconds / tank and take into account a carry-over rate of approx. 80 ml / m2.
  • the following measures can be used to reduce to just 3 tanks with the same material throughput and the same dilution effect: Increasing the regeneration rate to at least 400 ml / m2, which is undesirable because it leads to a significantly increased amount of used stabilizing bath.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a final treatment device which, with the same effectiveness as before, manages with a smaller number of treatment tanks.
  • the final treatment bath can be a watering or a stabilizing bath.
  • the tube Preferably at most 1/5, especially 1/10 to 1/100, of the final treatment bath is in the tube.
  • the pipe dips into the tank at least as far as it corresponds to 50% of the fill level of the tank.
  • the maximum immersion depth of the pipe is limited by the extent of the technical installations (deflection rollers etc.) in the tank.
  • the width of the tube is determined by the width of the photographic material.
  • a further, similarly designed tube is attached, through which the photographic material is guided, the tube being connected directly to the outlet a few mm below the liquid level by means of a laterally attached tube is.
  • Fig. 1 an embodiment of the invention is sketched with an inlet and outlet-side tube.
  • a commercial color paper is developed as follows in the commercial process.
  • bath time Regeneration rate developer 45 ′ 240 ml / m2 Bleach-fixer 45 ′ 160 ml / m2 stabilizer 30 ′ 200 ml / m2 stabilizer 30 ′ 200 ml / m2 stabilizer 30 ′ 200 ml / m2 stabilizer 30 ′ 200 ml / m2 stabilizer 30 ′ 200 ml / m2 m2
  • the tank volume of the stabilizer tanks is approx. 6 liters.
  • the tanks are not cascaded.
  • the essential components of the bleach-fix bath used are Ammonium thiosulfate 100 g / l Iron ammonium EDTA 50 g / l Sodium sulfite 20 g / l
  • the concentration of the bleach-fix bath is kept constant by adding a suitable regenerator.
  • the concentration of ammonium thiosulfate and iron ammonium EDTA in the first tank after the bleach-fix bath is then determined analytically: Ammonium thiosulfate 19 g / l Iron ammonium EDTA 9.1 g / l
  • the concentrations in the second tank after the bleach-fix bath are also determined: Ammonium thiosulfate 4.6 g / l Iron ammonium EDTA 1.9 g / l
  • the pipe according to the invention is installed on the outlet part of the first tank after the bleach-fix bath: upper end above level, lower end narrowed by wiper lips; Length 20 cm, clear width 15 mm.
  • the color paper runs through this tube, in which about 5% of the bath volume is located, before it leaves the tank 1 after the bleach-fixing bath and enters the tank 2 after the bleach-fixing bath.
  • the regenerator is added to the upper opening of the tube, semi-continuously with a reciprocating pump with 200 ml / m2.
  • the concentrations in tank 2 are determined analytically after the bleach-fix bath: Ammonium thiosulfate 1.0 g Iron ammonium EDTA 0.4 g
  • the equilibrium concentrations in the tank 2 after the bleach-fix bath behave as 1: 0.2, i.e. the system according to the invention is 5 times more effective than the conventional method.
