Definitions
- the present invention relates to builders for textile detergents for washing coarse, white and colored laundry in automatic washing machines.
- Suitable detergents for automatic washing machines consist of a combination of surfactants as washing-active substances, bleaching agents, water glass, dispersants and the so-called builders, which on the one hand act as a builder, on the other hand, by binding the water hardness, prevent incrustations of inorganic and organic constituents on the laundry and thereby prevent them Increase the lifespan of the textiles and make them feel comfortable on the skin.
- Suitable builders are alkali phosphates, especially sodium tripolyphosphate, zeolite A and alkali silicate, especially crystalline layered sodium silicate.
- alkali phosphates are no longer added to detergents due to the risk of eutrophication of slow-flowing water and lakes, although alkali phosphates in particular have excellent builder properties.
- a detergent composition in which, as a builder, in particular zeolite of the formula Na12 (AlO2. SiO2) 12.xH2O, where x is an integer from about 20 to 30, is used.
- the disadvantage of using zeolite as a builder is the accelerated degradation of the bleach during the storage time of the detergent and the incrustation of the laundry in the course of several washing processes through inorganic and organic components.
- the incrustations can be partially suppressed by a relatively high proportion of polycarboxylates in zeolite-containing detergents. But then an undesirably high polycarboxylate content in the wastewater must be accepted. An increased polycarboxylate content has no influence on the breakdown of the bleaching agent.
- the invention has for its object to provide a builder with the help of which a textile detergent can be produced, the bleaching effect of which is largely retained during storage, which has an increased cleaning effect and in which, with a small polycarboxylate dosage, only a slight incrustation occurs on the laundry.
- Suitable crystalline layered sodium silicates have an ion exchange capacity of more than 100 mmol Na+ / 100 g anhydrous substance and can be selected from naturally occurring alkali silicates such as natrosilite (Na2Si2O5) or Revdite (Na2Si2O5.5H2O). In general, however, synthetically produced phyllosilicates are preferred, in particular those obtained in accordance with EP-A-0 293 640.
- Suitable zeolites have an ion exchange capacity of more than 100 mmol Na+ / 100 g of anhydrous substance, such as, for example, naturally occurring chabazite (Ca [Al2Si4O12] .6H2O), the calcium content of which is exchanged for sodium.
- anhydrous substance such as, for example, naturally occurring chabazite (Ca [Al2Si4O12] .6H2O)
- the layered silicate and the zeolite develop a synergistic effect, which on the one hand slows down the decomposition of the bleaching agent during the storage of detergent formulations based thereon and on the other hand effectively prevents incrustation of the laundry with calcium and magnesium salts.
- Carboxylates (soaps), alkanesulfonates, laurylbenzenesulfonate, dodecylbenzenesulfonate, alkylphenol polyglycol ethers or the condensation product of polypropylene glycol with 8 moles of ethylene oxide have proven useful as surfactants in the textile detergent according to the invention.
- Sodium perborate tetrahydrate NaBO3.4H2O
- sodium perborate monohydrate NaBO3.H2O
- sodium percarbonate (2Na2CO3.3H2O2)
- textile detergents with the builder according to the invention are equally suitable for all water hardnesses, provided that the total hardness consists of 70 to 85% Ca hardness and 30 to 15% Mg hardness.
- the primary washing action of the textile detergent was determined at 60 ° C on various test fabrics (cotton standard 101-EMPA-; polyester / cotton 2: 1 standard 104-EMPA-, Cotton standard 10 C-WFK, polyester / cotton 2: 1 standard 20 C-WFK) according to DIN 44983, sheet 1 (January 1968) paragraph 4.1 determined by determining the reflectance difference, which is the difference between the reflectance of the test fabric after and before Washing results.
- the secondary washing effect was determined at 90 ° C on various test fabrics (cotton standard 101-EPMA, terry cotton fabric) according to DIN 44983 (4.4).
- the total hardness of the wash water was 18 ° d (hardness range III).
- the CaO: MgO ratio varied between 2: 1 and 5: 1.
- the primary washing results are given in Table 2 as the reflectance difference, the bleaching effect on the PE / cotton fabric with tea soiling being listed separately in Table 3.
- the reflectance difference was determined in accordance with DIN 44983 (4.1).

Abstract
Description
Die erfindungsgemäßen Builder für Textilwaschmittel können weiterhin bevorzugt und wahlweise dadurch gekennzeichnet sein, daß - a) der Buildergehalt im Textilwaschmittel 5 bis 60 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 10 bis 30 Gew.-%, beträgt;
- b) ein kristallines Natriumschichtsilikat mit einem Molverhältnis SiO₂/Na₂O von (1,9 bis 3,5) : 1 eingesetzt wird;
- c) ein Zeolith der Formel Na₁₂(AlO₂.SiO₂)₁₂.xH₂O, worin x eine ganze Zahl von 20 bis 30 ist, eingesetzt wird;
- d) sie mit einer Primär-Teilchengröße von 0,01 bis 1000 µm, insbesondere von 1 bis 20 µm, eingesetzt werden;
- e) sie zusammen mit bis zu 2,0 Gew.-% Polycarboxylat, bezogen auf das Textilwaschmittel, als dispergierendem Cobuilder eingesetzt werden;
- f) sie zusammen mit anorganischen und/oder organischen Phosphaten und/oder Phosphonaten, Boraten, Zitraten, Gluconaten, Ethylendiamintetraessigsäure, Nitrilotriessigsäure und/oder Iminodiessigsäure bzw. deren Alkalisalzen in Mengen bis zu 20 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Textilwaschmittel, eingesetzt werden;
