Definitions
- Two-part sealing strip for enclosing a window pane or a filling element in a frame
- the invention relates to a two-part sealing strip made of elastic material for enclosing a window pane or a filling element in a frame, according to the preamble of the claim
- Sealing strips of this type have already become known, after previously only those were available in which both sealing lips were attached to the first or main part. One of them was easily deflectable thanks to a recess provided close to it. An inserted into the recess filler, usually a simple body of circular cross-section, then stiffened this' lip again. The installation of the pane was made even easier when you attached this sealing lip to the filling element itself. Now the disc only had to be placed against the other sealing lip, whereupon it was fixed with the filling element.
- the filling element is usually made of the same material as the first or main part; however, when it was still a simple body, it was often made of metal to increase the rigidity of the sealing strip.
- sealing strips of this type are used for smaller windows in movable elements such as doors or gates. With a correspondingly more powerful design, however, they can also be used for large-area glazing, for example in high-rise buildings in which considerable wind pressure loads occur. In this case, it is of considerable importance how the filling element and the recess are designed. As' the filling element, the filler, still wearing no lip, was this Aus ⁇ education simple; the recess was usually a completely or almost completely closed cavity which practically surrounded the filler over its entire circumference. This is no longer possible with the sealing lip now newly attached to the filler, which has a solid connection of considerable thickness in order to achieve the necessary rigidity.
- connection between the two becomes even better with increasing wind pressure than immediately after assembly, which is usually in the absence of wind or at most weak wind he follows.
- the connection should not be excessively strong at this point in time, because otherwise the assembly or disassembly of the pane will be made more difficult, but must subsequently be able to hold the pane securely even in strong wind gusts and to seal it at its edge.
- Such a sealing strip according to the invention is characterized by the features of claim 1.
- the sealing strip comprises a first part 1, the main part, and a second part, the so-called filler 2.
- the main part 1 has two downwardly projecting holding or fastening lips 2, 3 which are connected to one another via a web 4 are and together form the sealing strip body. As can be seen, this engages around a carrier 5, so that the sealing strip is fixed on it.
- the spacing of the two fastening lips 2, 3 from one another, to be precise the spacing d of their mutually facing surfaces abutting the carrier 5, is matched to the width of the carrier 5 such that it is slightly less than this width before assembly.
- the web 4 is therefore somewhat stretched when it is placed on the carrier 5, so that the two fastening lips bear against it under a certain pressure and thus ensure a good hold of the sealing strip.
- the left-hand fastening lip 2 in the figure continues upwards into a sealing lip 6 which is practically mirror-inverted to it. This is intended to rest against a pane or a filling element 7.
- Your transition point to the fastening lip 2 and to the web 4 should be referred to as the foot 8 of the sealing lip 6.
- a further lip 9 protrudes from this foot 8 in approximately the same direction as the web 4. However, it does not run parallel to the web 4, but is inclined somewhat upwards.
- Its upper side 10 forms the bottom of the later groove which is formed by the interaction of parts 1 and 2 and which receives the edge of the disk 7. At its free end 11 it carries a projection 12, the mode of action of which will be discussed below.
- the web 4 has a wide recess 13 on its upper side. This is delimited on one side by the lip 9 just mentioned and on the other side by a rib 14.
- the web 4 has its full thickness from this rib 14 to the fastening lip 3.
- the filler 2 consists essentially only of a sealing lip 15 and a very wide foot 16, which, as can be seen, has an angled shape, ie its underside 17 is not continuously straight.
- the sealing lip 15 is connected to the foot 16 approximately in the middle.
- the foot 16 has a tip 18 on its left side in the figure and a groove 19 on the right side. This groove 19 is designed such that when the filler 2 is in the installed state, it can engage around the rib 14 delimiting the recess 13 , whereby the filler 2 is anchored in part 1.
- the foot 16 of the filler 2 is shown in broken lines as it is inserted into the recess 13.
- its width that is to say the distance between the tip 18 and the groove 19
- the width of the recess 13 measured from the transition point between the web 4 and lip 9 to the rib 14.
- the pressure effect of the two sealing lips 6, 15 can be influenced by choosing a material for the filler 2 that is different from the main part 1.
- filler 2 and main part 1 are made of the same material.
- the underside 17 does not lie flat on the bottom 20 of the recess 19, but is at a distance from this bottom in the middle because of its non-rectilinear shape. This distance results in a certain additional elasticity not only during assembly and disassembly, but also when pressure is exerted on the pane 7.
- the underside 17 can, as shown, consist of two rectilinear sections or else be rounded, ie concave.
- the second embodiment according to FIG. 2 is sufficient. Functional parts are the same, even if their shape differs somewhat from that in FIG. 1, with the same reference numerals .
- the web 4 is much shorter here because this sealing strip is mounted on a narrower frame. Sealing lip 6 of part 1, lip 9 and recess 13 are also present here, only the latter is considerably shorter.
- the rib 14 can also be seen. However, it is less pronounced than that in FIG. 1, is located directly above the right fastening lip 3 and now has a vertical stop surface 21.
- part 2 comprises a sealing lip 15 and a foot 16; however the sealing lip 15 is now at the very right end of the foot 16.s. There, this is also provided with a vertical bearing surface 22.
- the sealing strip according to the invention is particularly suitable for sealing

Abstract
This sealing rim comprises a main part (1) with a first sealing lip (6) designed to fit against a window (7) or against a filling element so as to make them waterproof. The glass (7) is placed against the sealing lip (6) during assembly, resting on the upper part (10) of a lip (9). In the body of the sealing rim, namely in its cross-section part (4), there is provided a hollow (13) into which the foot (16) of a second part (2) with a second lip is inserted. seal (15), which is placed against the other face of the window (7). By inserting the foot (16) into the recess (13), an elastic deformation of the two sealing lips (6, 15) is caused, which are consequently pressed against the window (7). The inserted foot has at one of its ends a groove (19) which engages with a rib (14). The foot (16) and therefore the second part (2) are thus firmly anchored in the main part (1).
