Abstract

This sealing rim comprises a main part (1) with a first sealing lip (6) designed to fit against a window (7) or against a filling element so as to make them waterproof. The glass (7) is placed against the sealing lip (6) during assembly, resting on the upper part (10) of a lip (9). In the body of the sealing rim, namely in its cross-section part (4), there is provided a hollow (13) into which the foot (16) of a second part (2) with a second lip is inserted. seal (15), which is placed against the other face of the window (7). By inserting the foot (16) into the recess (13), an elastic deformation of the two sealing lips (6, 15) is caused, which are consequently pressed against the window (7). The inserted foot has at one of its ends a groove (19) which engages with a rib (14). The foot (16) and therefore the second part (2) are thus firmly anchored in the main part (1).

Description

Zweiteilige Dichtleiste zum Einfassen einer Fensterscheibe oder eines Füllelementes in einem Rahmen Two-part sealing strip for enclosing a window pane or a filling element in a frame
Die Erfindung betrifft eine zweiteilige Dichtleiste aus elasti¬ schem Material zum Einfassen einer Fensterscheibe oder eines Füll elementes in einem Rahmen, gemäss dem Oberbegriff des AnspruchesThe invention relates to a two-part sealing strip made of elastic material for enclosing a window pane or a filling element in a frame, according to the preamble of the claim
Sealing strips of this type have already become known, after previously only those were available in which both sealing lips were attached to the first or main part. One of them was easily deflectable thanks to a recess provided close to it. An inserted into the recess filler, usually a simple body of circular cross-section, then stiffened this' lip again. The installation of the pane was made even easier when you attached this sealing lip to the filling element itself. Now the disc only had to be placed against the other sealing lip, whereupon it was fixed with the filling element. The filling element is usually made of the same material as the first or main part; however, when it was still a simple body, it was often made of metal to increase the rigidity of the sealing strip.
Depending on their dimensions, sealing strips of this type are used for smaller windows in movable elements such as doors or gates. With a correspondingly more powerful design, however, they can also be used for large-area glazing, for example in high-rise buildings in which considerable wind pressure loads occur. In this case, it is of considerable importance how the filling element and the recess are designed. As' the filling element, the filler, still wearing no lip, was this Aus¬ education simple; the recess was usually a completely or almost completely closed cavity which practically surrounded the filler over its entire circumference. This is no longer possible with the sealing lip now newly attached to the filler, which has a solid connection of considerable thickness in order to achieve the necessary rigidity. However, if the recess and the filler are formed incorrectly, the latter can be stressed by the pressure of the disk exerted on its sealing lip in such a way that it is pressed out of the recess again by elastic deformation. The disc then has no hold, which can have fatal consequences.
It is therefore a purpose of the invention to design the filler and the main part or first part of the sealing strip in such a way that the connection between the two becomes even better with increasing wind pressure than immediately after assembly, which is usually in the absence of wind or at most weak wind he follows. The connection should not be excessively strong at this point in time, because otherwise the assembly or disassembly of the pane will be made more difficult, but must subsequently be able to hold the pane securely even in strong wind gusts and to seal it at its edge.
Such a sealing strip according to the invention is characterized by the features of claim 1.
Exemplary embodiments of the sealing strip according to the invention are to be explained in more detail with the aid of the accompanying drawings in each case in an exploded representation of their two parts. For the time being, Figure 1 will be explained. The sealing strip comprises a first part 1, the main part, and a second part, the so-called filler 2. The main part 1 has two downwardly projecting holding or fastening lips 2, 3 which are connected to one another via a web 4 are and together form the sealing strip body. As can be seen, this engages around a carrier 5, so that the sealing strip is fixed on it. The spacing of the two fastening lips 2, 3 from one another, to be precise the spacing d of their mutually facing surfaces abutting the carrier 5, is matched to the width of the carrier 5 such that it is slightly less than this width before assembly. The web 4 is therefore somewhat stretched when it is placed on the carrier 5, so that the two fastening lips bear against it under a certain pressure and thus ensure a good hold of the sealing strip.
The left-hand fastening lip 2 in the figure continues upwards into a sealing lip 6 which is practically mirror-inverted to it. This is intended to rest against a pane or a filling element 7. Your transition point to the fastening lip 2 and to the web 4 should be referred to as the foot 8 of the sealing lip 6. A further lip 9 protrudes from this foot 8 in approximately the same direction as the web 4. However, it does not run parallel to the web 4, but is inclined somewhat upwards. Its upper side 10 forms the bottom of the later groove which is formed by the interaction of parts 1 and 2 and which receives the edge of the disk 7. At its free end 11 it carries a projection 12, the mode of action of which will be discussed below.
The web 4 has a wide recess 13 on its upper side. This is delimited on one side by the lip 9 just mentioned and on the other side by a rib 14. The web 4 has its full thickness from this rib 14 to the fastening lip 3. The filler 2 consists essentially only of a sealing lip 15 and a very wide foot 16, which, as can be seen, has an angled shape, ie its underside 17 is not continuously straight. The sealing lip 15 is connected to the foot 16 approximately in the middle. The foot 16 has a tip 18 on its left side in the figure and a groove 19 on the right side. This groove 19 is designed such that when the filler 2 is in the installed state, it can engage around the rib 14 delimiting the recess 13 , whereby the filler 2 is anchored in part 1.
How this insertion takes place will now be explained in more detail below. As can be seen, the foot 16 of the filler 2 is shown in broken lines as it is inserted into the recess 13. For the time being, it should also be mentioned that its width, that is to say the distance between the tip 18 and the groove 19, is at least equal to the width of the recess 13, measured from the transition point between the web 4 and lip 9 to the rib 14. As can be seen when inserting the filler 2 in the direction of arrow A, the top of his foot 16 against the bottom of the tip 11 of the lip 9 is already on, while the right end of the foot is still above the rib 14. The further insertion now has the result that the lip 9 is elastically bent upwards and thereby curved. This deflection is initially transferred to the disk 7 and via this further to the sealing lip 6. Although the sealing lip 15 presses on the disk 7, it cannot tilt to the left under the initially one-sided pressure, because it is on the one hand through the tip of the sealing lip 6 on its one side and by the at its edge on the other side 'engaging projection 12 is clamped to some extent. Thus, it is only shifted to the left against the pressure of the sealing lip 6 and bends it until it is approximately stretched. However, due to this growing back pressure and the sealing lip 15 of the filler 2 is approximately stretched out of its slightly curved shape. This elastic stretching of the two sealing lips effects a sufficient seal. At this point, the foot 16 of the filler 2 has been shifted to the left so far that its groove 19 engages in the rib 14. The fountain pen is now anchored.
With this sealing strip, too, the pressure effect of the two sealing lips 6, 15 can be influenced by choosing a material for the filler 2 that is different from the main part 1. Usually, however, filler 2 and main part 1 are made of the same material.
It should also be noted that when the filler 2 is engaged, its underside 17 does not lie flat on the bottom 20 of the recess 19, but is at a distance from this bottom in the middle because of its non-rectilinear shape. This distance results in a certain additional elasticity not only during assembly and disassembly, but also when pressure is exerted on the pane 7. The underside 17 can, as shown, consist of two rectilinear sections or else be rounded, ie concave.
For panes which are exposed to a lower wind pressure either because of their small size or their position, the second embodiment according to FIG. 2 is sufficient. Functional parts are the same, even if their shape differs somewhat from that in FIG. 1, with the same reference numerals . The web 4 is much shorter here because this sealing strip is mounted on a narrower frame. Sealing lip 6 of part 1, lip 9 and recess 13 are also present here, only the latter is considerably shorter. The rib 14 can also be seen. However, it is less pronounced than that in FIG. 1, is located directly above the right fastening lip 3 and now has a vertical stop surface 21. As before, part 2 comprises a sealing lip 15 and a foot 16; however the sealing lip 15 is now at the very right end of the foot 16.s. There, this is also provided with a vertical bearing surface 22.
Bei FigurThe insertion of the part 2 into the part after the placement of the disk is carried out in the same way as in FIG. 1. Again the tip 18 of the foot 16 slides under the lip 9 and is held by it, so that the part 2 cannot tip in the clockwise direction. The two surfaces 21 and 22 now lie next to one another and thus form the anchoring means which prevent the part 2 from being pressed out of the recess 13 again due to a pressure force acting on the diaphragm 15 to the right. The torque resulting from the compressive force acting on the sealing lip 15 and the lever arm of this resultant up to the base 16 must now be largely absorbed by the lip 9 because the sealing lip 15 is located at the right end of the 16 feet. With figure
Dennoch ist bei der Dichtleiste nach Figur1 this torque is distributed approximately evenly over the lip 9 and the groove 19. Nevertheless, the sealing strip according to the figure
2 dasselbe Prinzip realisiert, wonach ein Druck auf die Dicht¬ lippe 15 die Verbindung der Teile 1 und 2 nur noch verbessert; der kleine Rest des Drehmomentes, der nicht von der Lippe 9 auf¬ genommen wird, führt hier zu einem stärkeren Druck einer Stütz¬ fläche 23 am unteren Ende der Dichtlippe 15 auf die Oberseite2 realizes the same principle, according to which a pressure on the sealing lip 15 only improves the connection of parts 1 and 2; the small remainder of the torque, which is not absorbed by the lip 9, leads here to a stronger pressure of a support surface 23 at the lower end of the sealing lip 15 on the upper side
24 der Rippe 14 , so dass die Gefahr des Herausgleitens aus der Ausnehmung 13 auch an diesem Ende derselben reduziert wird.24 of the rib 14, so that the risk of sliding out of the recess 13 is also reduced at this end thereof.
This sliding out is also prevented by the foot 16 having a sufficient width so that it can absorb the torque mentioned. This is mainly important because, as mentioned at the beginning, the entire sealing strip consists of an elastic material. On the one hand, this must be hard enough to be able to transmit forces such as the pressure coming from the disk 7, but on the other hand it must be elastic enough to, among other things, insert the part 2 in not to complicate the recess 13. It proves to be expedient to make foot 16 at least half as wide as the height of sealing lip 15, measured from its base on foot 16 to its tip. free end, is. This minimum width is just enough for the embodiment according to FIG. 2, which serves for low loads; 1, at which higher wind pressures are to be taken up, the width of the foot should essentially correspond to the above-mentioned height, so that the lever arm of the torque is large and therefore the forces acting on the foot ends are small stay.
Die erfindungsgemässe Dichtleiste eignet sich speziell beiThe sealing strip according to the invention is particularly suitable for
Panels 7, which are either round, oval or, if already rectangular, very rounded at their corners, then the entire sealing strip can be installed as one piece, which encompasses the entire panel 7 and the ends of which abut one another.
Despite the easy assembly of the filler, it is then no longer possible for unauthorized persons to loosen it again, remove the pane 7 and in this way, for example, open a door or a gate from the inside by means of a tool which is guided through the now empty frame. Once the filler has been inserted and its ends butt against one another as described, it can only be removed again using a special tool which is only available to the assembly personnel.
