Definitions

  • the invention relates to a low temperature wax removal device which is hard at room temperature and liquid at a temperature between 55 ° C and 75 ° C.
  • a hair removal device comprising a heating device for placing at its application temperature the wax contained in the reservoirs of a plurality of cartridges provided with an applicator.

  • the cartridges reservoirs are substantially parallelepipedal in the same shape as and in contact with the sleeves.
  • This device has the advantage of low cost and is intended for non-intensive domestic use. However, it cannot be used satisfactorily by professionals, for example beauty salons. Indeed, it does not provide precise and uniform heating of the wax which is in the cartridge reservoir locally too hot or too cold. In addition, some cartridges are hotter than others. This results, on the one hand, in a lack of reliability and user comfort, and on the other hand, by a too high permanent operating cost. Description

The invention relates to a low temperature wax removal device which is hard at room temperature and liquid at a temperature between 55 ° C and 75 ° C.

Already known (French patent 2,520,601) a hair removal device comprising a heating device for placing at its application temperature the wax contained in the reservoirs of a plurality of cartridges provided with an applicator. The heater consists of a plurality of heating sleeves adapted to the dimensions of the reservoirs which are of variable size, and of two cord heating blankets provided with an automatic thermostat and arranged on each side of the sleeves. The cartridges reservoirs are substantially parallelepipedal in the same shape as and in contact with the sleeves.

This device has the advantage of low cost and is intended for non-intensive domestic use. In addition, the heating of the wax is not perfect, its application is not either, the layers of wax applied to the skin not having a uniform thickness.

Furthermore, in known apparatus (French patent 2,560,601 and also French patent applications 2,599,602 and 2,593,043), the wax tanks are placed in close contact with the heating walls of the sleeves or receptacles, or even with the elements heating themselves, the heating of the wax being carried out essentially by conduction from the heat source to the wax. Thus, the various walls interposed between the heat sources (generally in the form of an electric heating resistance) and the wax are as much as possible conductive of the heat, and are shaped to follow the contours of the wax tanks.

Le brevet français 2 560 601 prévoit aussi de limiter la température de la cire à 66°C.In particular, the walls and the wax being highly conductive, it is not possible to handle with bare hands the tanks of wax heated to the application temperature which is above 50 ° C. This is why, with such devices, it is necessary to use insulating gloves to handle the tanks. French patent application 2,599,602 even provides an external isolation chamber for handling the wax tank. French patent 2,560,601 also provides for limiting the temperature of the wax to 66 ° C.

There is also known (patent application EP-0 249 911) a wax application cartridge comprising a cylindrical tank of revolution that can be heated under a stream of hot water and a roller applicator device.

The invention aims to remedy the drawbacks of hair removal devices of the prior art. It therefore relates to a hair removal device which provides a homogeneous heating of the wax of the cartridges, the wax of each cartridge being heated homogeneously and all the cartridges being at the same temperature. It also has the object of allowing a precise adjustment of the heating temperature of the wax, in particular with a precision of the degree. Another object of the invention is to provide such an apparatus which can be used intensively by professionals, that is to say which can either be permanently connected, or be switched off and on regularly and allow rapid heating. wax, with large capacity wax tanks.

Another object of the invention is to allow the wax to be heated to a relatively high temperature, in particular of the order of 72 ° C., without however creating a burning sensation for the user or the patient, by providing intense heating. but "soft" wax cartridges, mainly by convection.

Another object of the invention is to improve the performance of hair removal while suppressing the reactions, burns or irritations of the depilated skin.

To do this, the invention provides a waxing apparatus comprising a heating device making it possible to place at its application temperature on the skin, the wax contained in the reservoir of at least one wax cartridge, l heater comprising a tank for receiving said tank for heating, and means for heating the walls of the tank, characterized in that that the respective dimensions of the tank and of each wax tank are such that each tank inserted into the tank with a view to heating it is at a distance from the at least lateral peripheral walls of the tank with which it does not come into contact, the tank heating being effected by means of the heated air contained in the tank, essentially by convection. Thus, according to the invention, the respective dimensions of the tank and of each wax tank are such that a layer of hot air separates the external wall of each tank from the internal wall of the tank.

According to the invention, the peripheral walls of the tank are double walls containing a heat transfer fluid, and the heating means are placed outside these double peripheral walls. The shape of each tank is different from that of the tank. In particular, each tank is cylindrical in revolution, and the tank is parallelepiped.

The apparatus according to the invention comprises a heater intended for simultaneously heating a plurality of wax cartridges, and is characterized in that it comprises a heating tank common to all the cartridges heated simultaneously, this common tank being made up of double peripheral walls and delimiting an internal space of hot air in which the tanks of the cartridges can be inserted for heating. The tank delimits a single parallelepipedal hot air compartment common for all the cartridges tanks which are not in direct contact with the double peripheral walls of this tank.

According to the invention, the heating apparatus comprises a casing, one wall of which, in particular the upper wall, is provided with orifices for the passage and holding of the cartridges, and the peripheral walls of the tank define a single opening placed against and under this wall of the casing provided with holes for the passage and for holding the cartridges.

The double peripheral walls of the tank consist of two internal and external enclosures nested one inside the other to form between them a single closed reservoir of constant thickness containing a heat transfer fluid. The heating means of the peripheral walls consist of a heating plate mounted in contact with and outside of a wall of the enclosure external of the tank. At least one thermal probe for a thermometer and / or for a thermostat is mounted against the opposite wall of the tank. An insulating plate, for example made of bakelite, is provided on the bottom of the tank in order to prevent the bottom of the cartridge reservoirs from coming into direct contact with the bottom of the tank. The walls of the cartridge tanks are made of soft insulating plastic.

The heating device includes an adjustable thermostat for regulating the temperature of the heat-transfer fluid contained in the tank formed by the double walls of the tank, and a thermometer for displaying the temperature of the heat-transfer fluid contained in the double peripheral walls of the tank. . The heating appliance further comprises a cover hinged to said wall of the casing comprising the orifices for passing and holding the cartridges, so that this cover can cover the cartridges during heating. The lid in the open position forms a receptacle for storing paper strips useful for hair removal. The bottom wall of the heater housing is perforated to provide good ventilation.

Furthermore, the wax used with a heating device according to the invention and contained in each reservoir and applied to the skin is a wax based on natural resin and azulene. This wax is thermally insulating, that is to say that it is chosen to be relatively non-conductive of heat.

Thus, the invention makes it possible to provide an apparatus providing “gentle” heating by convection of the wax at a relatively high temperature, in particular of the order of 72 ° C., homogeneous, which allows the temperature of the wax to be adjusted with high precision, thermostatically controlled, and quickly operational after cold commissioning. Using wax cartridges each consisting of an extended wax reservoir of a roller applicator, the wax heated to about 72 ° C is applied to the skin at a temperature which facilitates the swelling of the pore on which the hair is located without causing any pain or irritation. Thus, the hair will be pulled out with its bulb.

The provisions of the invention allow the practitioner to use wax heated to about 72 ° C without any burning sensation, for her as for her client. In the devices of the prior art, it was impossible to use a such a wax temperature because it would inevitably have caused a burning sensation, and for the practitioner and her client, since the heating being carried out by conduction, the walls of the reservoirs and the wax itself were conductive of heat. On the contrary, according to the invention, the walls of the reservoir and the wax itself are insulating from the heat, which makes it possible to reduce the burning sensations for the practitioner as for her client.

Thus, the choice of a soft plastic material constituting the walls of the tank makes it possible, for the same temperature, to considerably reduce the burning sensation when this tank is held in hand. In practice, it has been found that one can thus gain approximately 5 ° C. Furthermore, convection heating has proven to be much more efficient, gentle and homogeneous than conduction heating. It also provides the advantage of allowing the heating or reheating of the roller applicator devices of the cartridges over which the cover of the heater is closed. Thus, when the lid is opened and a cartridge is extracted for use, the wax, possibly already present on the applicator roller, can be used directly and at the right temperature.

Also, the cylindrical shape of revolution of the tanks allows a more homogeneous diffusion of the wax, the temperature of the bottom of the tank being the same as that of its upper part, no hot or cold spot being created in the wax tank. In addition, this cylindrical shape of revolution allows the use of a large diameter neck for the reservoir, and therefore facilitates the filling of the reservoir by the practitioner herself. In practice, the apparatus according to the invention comprises for example four openings formed in the upper wall of the heating device to simultaneously receive four cartridges which can contain approximately 400 g of wax in total.

The heat transfer fluid used for example consists of 300 ml of oil resistant to high temperature, in particular not undergoing any degradation at a temperature greater than or equal to 200 ° C. The simultaneous use of a thermometer and an adjustable thermostat makes it possible, in combination with the characteristics of the invention, to obtain an adjustment of the temperature of the wax with an accuracy of degree which has never been obtained before. with conductive heating devices and automatic thermostats.

The invention relates to a waxing device comprising a heater 1 for placing at its application temperature on the skin, the wax contained in the reservoir 2 of at least one wax cartridge 4. Each cartridge of wax 4 consists of a reservoir 2 extended by a roller applicator device 3 known per se, for example from European patent application EP-A-0 249 911. The roller 5 of such an applicator device 3 is provided with spiral grooves and / or ribs to facilitate the application of the wax.

The heating device 1 comprises a tank 6 for receiving the reservoirs 2 of the cartridges 4 for their heating, and means 7 for heating the walls 8 of the tank 6.

According to the invention, the peripheral walls 8-notably the lateral peripheral walls 8a and the bottom 8b- of the tank 6 are double walls 8 containing a heat-transfer fluid, and the heating means 7 are placed outside these walls dual peripherals 8.

According to the invention, the respective dimensions of the tank 6 and of each wax tank 2 are such that each wax tank 2 inserted into the tank 6 for heating purposes is distant from the peripheral walls 8 -in particular at least from the lateral peripheral walls 8a- of the tank 6 with which it does not come into contact, the heating of this tank 2 being effected by means of the heated air contained in the tank 6 between the outer wall 9 of the tank 2 and the peripheral walls 8 of the tank.

Thus, the wax contained in each tank 2 is heated essentially by convection, in particular by natural convection.

According to the invention, the shape of each tank 2 is different from that of the tank 6. In particular, each tank 2 is cylindrical in revolution, and the tank 6 is generally parallelepiped.

The percentage of azulene is of the order of 1 ‰. The wax also contains pure natural pine resin, especially of food grade, modified pine resin, vegetable and / or mineral oils, essential oils (calming, anesthetic ...)

The hair removal device shown in the figures comprises a heater 1 for simultaneously heating a plurality of cartridges 4 of wax. According to the invention, this heating device 1 comprises a heating tank 6 common to all the cartridges 4, consisting of double peripheral walls 8, and delimiting an internal space 10 of hot air inside the tank 6 in which the tanks 2 of the cartridges 4 can be inserted for heating. In particular, the heating device 1 according to the invention is constituted to allow the heating of four wax cartridges 4. The peripheral double walls 8 of the tank 6 delimit a compartment 10 of single parallelepipedal hot air common to all the tanks 2 of the cartridges 4. These tanks 2 are not in direct contact with the peripheral double walls 8 of the tank 6.

The heating device 1 according to the invention comprises an outer casing 11. This casing is made of steel and covered with a paint baked in the oven, so that it can be easily cleaned using solvents or aggressive detergents, for example of the trichlorethylene type. The casing 11 of the heating appliance 1 constitutes a closed rectangular box which encloses and supports the tank 6 and its various accessories. This casing 11 has a wall 12 - in particular a horizontal top - provided with orifices 13 for passing and holding the cartridges 4. These orifices 13 have a shape corresponding to that of the cross section of the tanks 2 of the cartridges 4, in particular circular. When the wax cartridges 4 are in place in the heater 1 (FIG. 2), the tanks 2 of the wax cartridges 4 extend into the tank 6 under the upper horizontal wall 12 of the casing 11. On the contrary, the roller applicator devices 3 of the cartridges 4 protrude outside and above the upper horizontal wall 12 of the casing 11. The diameter of the orifices 13 is slightly greater than the external diameter of the tanks 2 to facilitate their insertion into the tank 6 to through these orifices 13, while allowing a certain limited circulation of the hot air from the tank 6 upwards through the upper horizontal wall 12 around the roller applicator devices 3.

The heating device 1 comprises a cover 14 hinged to the casing 11. This cover 14 is shaped to cover the roller applicator devices 3 of the cartridges 4 during heating, when it is placed in the closed position. Thus, this cover 14 forms in the closed position, with the wall 12 of the upper horizontal casing 11 provided with orifices 13, an upper compartment in which the hot air coming from the tank 6 can circulate to also heat the roller applicator devices. 3.

The peripheral walls 8 of the tank 6 define a single opening 15 joined against and under the upper horizontal wall 12 of the casing 11 in which the orifices 13 for passing and holding the cartridges 4 are provided. Nevertheless, an air passage interstice (of the order of 2 mm in height) between the tank 6 and the wall 12 of the casing 11 is provided to allow low air circulation.

Thus, the tank 6, the upper horizontal wall 12 of the casing 11, and the cover 14 form two heating compartments by circulation of hot air: a lower compartment 10 delimited by the peripheral walls 8 of the tank 6 and by the wall 12 upper horizontal of the casing 11 and located under this wall 12 to receive the reservoirs 2 of the cartridges 4, and an upper compartment delimited by the domed cover 14 and this upper horizontal wall 12, and situated above this wall 12.

Chaque plaquette 18 est pourvue d'un alésage horizontal longitudinal débouchant dans lequel est inséré à pivotement libre un goujon ou vis 19 prolongeant horizontalement et longitudinalement le bord horizontal et longitudinal correspondant du couvercle 14.The cover 14 is curved to cover the applicator devices 3, and has for example a cross section in the shape of a U, or V, or an open trapezium. The cover 14 is articulated by one of these longitudinal edges around a longitudinal horizontal axis 16 in the vicinity of an upper longitudinal horizontal edge of the casing 11 formed by the upper horizontal wall 12 and one of its longitudinal vertical walls 17. To do this, there are for example two plates 18 welded to the casing 11 respectively at each end of said stopper to extend slightly projecting above the upper horizontal wall 12. Each plate 18 is provided with a longitudinal horizontal bore opening into which is inserted with free pivoting a stud or screw 19 extending horizontally and longitudinally the corresponding horizontal and longitudinal edge of the cover 14.

The tank 6 is of parallelepiped shape. Its peripheral walls 8 consist of vertical side walls 8a and a bottom horizontal bottom 8b and delimit an upper opening 15 attached to the upper horizontal wall 12 of the casing 11. The tank 6 is rigidly associated with the casing 11, in particular with the wall upper horizontal 12. To do this, there are for example tabs 20 integral with the vertical side walls 8a and extending horizontally towards the outside of the tank 6 from the upper edge 21 of the vertical side walls 8a. These fixing lugs 20 extend immediately under and in contact with the upper horizontal wall 12 of the casing 11 to which they are fixed by means of suitable fixing means 48 such as rivets, bolts, etc.

L'enceinte externe 23 est munie d'un orifice 25 de remplissage obturé par un bouchon amovible 26.The double peripheral walls 8 of the tank 6 are made up of two internal and external respectively 22 enclosures 23, nested one inside the other, to form a single closed reservoir 24 of constant thickness of heat-transfer fluid. The peripheral double walls 8 of the tank 6 therefore consist of an enclosure internal metal 22 delimiting the internal space 10 of hot air, and an external metallic enclosure 23 extending around the internal enclosure 22 to form, between these two enclosures 22, 23, a single sealed closed reservoir 24 d constant thickness of heat transfer fluid. The heat transfer fluid inserted into this reservoir 24 formed by the two enclosures 22, 23, consists of oil capable of withstanding high temperature, in particular at a temperature above 200 ° C. The external enclosure 23 is provided with a filling orifice 25 closed by a removable plug 26.

L'appareil 1 de chauffage comporte par ailleurs au moins une sonde thermique 28, 29 montée contre la paroi latérale verticale extérieure 30 opposée de l'enceinte externe 23 de la cuve 6.The means 7 for heating the peripheral walls 8 consist of an electric heating plate 7 mounted in contact with and outside a side wall 27, in particular of greater length, of the external enclosure 23 of the tank 6, so that the heat transfer fluid contained in the tank 24 is heated by convection and natural circulation inside this tank 24 formed by the double peripheral walls 8. The electric heating plate 7 is mounted on one side of the tank 6 against this vertical lateral external wall 27 of the external enclosure 23. The heating appliance 1 also comprises at least one thermal probe 28, 29 mounted against the external vertical lateral wall 30 opposite the external enclosure 23 of the tank 6.

The electric heating plate 7 consists of an electric heating resistor embedded in a conductive synthetic material and covered with a flat rectangular metal case. This rectangular heating plate 7 is rigidly associated, but removably with the external vertical side wall 27 of the external enclosure 23 by means of four fixing lugs 31 welded to this wall 27 by one of their ends and forming with their other end and the wall 27 a gap in which the plate 7 is inserted. The rectangular heating plate 7 has dimensions such that it extends over the major part of the outer wall 27 of the tank 6. The electrical resistance of the heating plate 7 is electrically connected by electrical connection cables 32 to a power supply electric, especially the AC 220 V sector.

An indicator light 33 is connected in parallel to the terminals of the electrical resistance to indicate its operation. Furthermore, the phase of the sector is connected to the electrical resistance of the heating plate 7 by means of a switch 34 and an adjustable thermostat 35 for regulating the temperature of the fluid. heat carrier contained in the tank 24. This thermostat acts on the electrical supply of the heating plate 7. This adjustable thermostat 35 is controlled by a thermal probe 28 to which it is electrically connected by a wire 47, probe 28 which is rigidly associated but removably to the wall 30 of the external enclosure 23 opposite that 27 on which the heating plate 7 is fixed. This adjustable thermostat 35 therefore makes it possible to adjust at will and regulate the temperature of the oil contained in the reservoir 24 formed by the double peripheral walls 8 of the tank 6. Furthermore, the heating device 1 according to the invention comprises a thermometer 36 connected by a conducting wire 46 to a second thermal probe 29 rigidly and removably associated with the same wall 30 as the thermal probe 28 of the thermostat 35. The thermometer 36 therefore makes it possible to indicate to the user the actual temperature oil. The switch 34, the thermostat 35 and the electrical resistance of the heating plate 7 are connected in series as shown in FIG. 2. The two thermal probes 28, 29 are associated rigidly but removably in contact with the wall 30 thanks to the same fixing lug 37 welded at each of its ends to the wall 30 and providing in its middle part, with this wall 30, a gap in which the probes 28, 29 are inserted.

The heating device 1 according to the invention comprises an insulating plate 38 - in particular bakelite (registered trademark) - which extends inside the tank 6 on the bottom 8b of this tank 6 in order to prevent the bottom 39 of the tanks 2 of the cartridges 4 comes directly into contact with the bottom 8b of the tank 6. Thus, no part of the cartridges 4 and their tank 2 is in contact with the hot metallic inner enclosure 22 of the tank 6. The tanks 2 have their bottom 39 which rests on this insulating plate 38.

The walls 9 of the reservoirs 2 of the wax cartridges 4 are made of soft insulating plastic material resistant to heat, in particular at a temperature above 100 ° C.

The reservoirs 2 of the cartridges 4 and the orifices 13 for passage and holding formed on the casing 11 of the heating device 1 all have the same dimensions. Thus, one or the other of the different cartridges 4 can be used interchangeably. In particular, when the wax contained in the reservoir 2 of the cartridge 4 in use cools, it suffices to replace it in the tank 6 for warmer fage, and instead use another cartridge 4 whose wax is at the right temperature.

Par exemple, ce diamètre de l'orifice de remplissage 40 est supérieur à 15 mm, notamment de l'ordre de 20 mm à 25 mm.According to the invention, the reservoir 2 of each wax cartridge 4 is removably associated with the corresponding roller applicator device 3 and comprises a filling orifice 40 communicating with this applicator device 3 which extends it. The filling orifice 40 has a sufficient diameter so that it can be filled with new wax by practitioners. For example, this diameter of the filling orifice 40 is greater than 15 mm, in particular of the order of 20 mm to 25 mm.

The horizontal lower wall 45 of the casing 11 is perforated in order to ensure good ventilation, in particular to avoid overheating of the heating resistance and of the electrical operating accessories (thermostat, fuse, thermometer, etc.). This lower wall 45 consists of a perforated grid carrying suction cups 44, riveted to the vertical walls 17.

Due to its domed shape, the cover 14 of the heating device 1 in the open position forms a receptacle for storing strips of paper useful for hair removal.

The depilation apparatus shown allows the heating of four cartridges 4 of wax, the reservoirs 2 of which can each contain about 100 ml of wax. The heating plate 7 has a length of the order of 19 cm on a width of the order of 5 cm. The shielded resistor it contains has an electrical power of the order of 200 W at 230 V AC. The external metallic enclosure 23 of the tank 6 is connected to the earth by a cable 41. The thermometer 36 is graduated from 0 to 120 ° C. The thermostat 35 includes an adjustment wheel 42 graduated from 0 to 10. A thermal fuse 43 whose melting point is of the order of 109 ° C. is mounted in series between the thermostat 35 and the electrical resistance 7. The tank 24 of oil formed by the double peripheral walls 8 of the tank 6 between the vertical walls and the respective bottoms of the internal 22 and external 23 enclosures has a capacity of the order of 300 ml of oil. The various electrical wires used for the connections inside the casing 11 are provided to withstand high temperature. Four suction cups 44 are provided under the casing 11 to ensure the stability of the heater 1.

The epilation device according to the invention is perfectly safe and reliable, and can thus be intended for professional use. In addition, tests have shown that provides homogeneous and "gentle" heating by convection of the wax, with temperature accuracy of the order of a degree. This allows in particular to adapt the heating temperature according to the wax actually used.

Tests have been carried out with the hair removal device according to the invention. Wax based on natural wax, natural resin and azulene (cyclopenta-cycloheptene from chamomile oil) was used. The tests were carried out under the following conditions:
- the appliance 1 is connected to the mains, and four full 100 ml cartridges 4 are inserted into it, comprising reservoir 2 and roller applicator device 3. The switch 34 is actuated to put the heating appliance 1 into operation .
- the thermostat 35 is initially set to the maximum position 10. The indicator light 33 is on.
- the cover 14 is closed.
- After 20 to 30 min, it can be seen that the oil located in the double peripheral walls 8 reaches a temperature of the order of 120 ° C.
- Thermostat 35 is then lowered to position 7 for which the oil temperature is of the order of 95 ° C.

It has been found that the temperature of the wax under these conditions is 72 ° C. after 20 to 30 min, and that it remains very precisely at this temperature if the cartridges 4 are left in the heater 1. Despite this relatively high wax temperature, it has been found that the cartridges 4 can be used with the bare hand without any pain or burning, and that they make it possible to apply an extremely fine layer of wax to the skin. The relatively high temperature of the wax allows the skin pores to expand and better pull the bulb out of the hair without the risk of it breaking. After applying the wax in a single thin layer, put a strip of paper cut to the size of the surface to be depilated, which is pressed on the wax, then torn off by pulling parallel to the skin in the opposite direction. hair. We found that the smallest hairs are also torn off, which was not the case in the devices of the prior art. In particular, comparable tests have been carried out with the hair removal device in accordance with French patent 2,520,601. Hair removal has been found to be much less effective with this known device, certain hairs being broken and the smallest hairs not being torn off.

The heater 1 according to the invention can be left plugged in and turned on for a whole day, the temperature of the oil and of the wax being controlled by thermostat 35. The heater 1 can be easily cleaned. The apparatus according to the invention is intended to have a lifespan of at least 10 years.

The total capacity of the apparatus according to the invention makes it possible to practice 15 to 20 depilations of half-legs without having to refill the reservoirs 2. Nevertheless, these reservoirs 2 can easily be refilled with wax thanks to their large filling orifices. 40.

Heating by convection via, on the one hand, an oil tank 24 and, on the other hand, hot air contained in the tank 6 therefore makes it possible in practice to quickly heat the wax to a relatively high temperature at which it can be used while being perfectly fluid and effective, without causing burns to the practitioner or the user.
