- the phosphors After the phosphors have been introduced into the tub of the picture tube, they are usually covered with a layer of lacquer. Subsequently, contact lines from a graphite-containing conductive suspension are applied to the inner edge of the tub, starting from the holding pins for the shadow mask to be used later. After the contact lines have been applied, a thin aluminum layer is evaporated onto the inside of the tub in a high vacuum. In the finished state of the picture tube, the contact lines connect the aluminum layer in the tub to the shadow mask via the holding pins. This is connected via a spring to the inner conductive layer in the piston of the picture tube and thus to the high-voltage connection (FUNK-TECHNIK, 1967, No. 16, pages 576 to 580).
