Definitions
- the invention relates to a (conventional) tear-open can for beverages, but for use in the packaging of dry filling goods in an inert gas atmosphere (inert gas) under a pressure deviating from the ambient atmosphere.
- dry fillings can be nuts, especially peanuts.
- the dry fillings mentioned - i.e. granular fillings such as hazelnuts, peanuts, cashew nuts - are available on the market in various packs.
- the (pouches packed under vacuum) are known, which are in cardboard wrappings.
- State-of-the-art are also three-part cans made of tinplate or aluminum, the lids of which have a circular notch line running close to the edge to limit a tear-open part (so-called full tear-open) that opens up essentially the entire opening cross-section when torn open (DE-A-12 85 348.4).
- These three-piece cans are usually sealed to the packer at one end and supplied with separate lids for the other end.
- the wholesaler then fills the cans in machines with the dry filling material.
- the machines then put the lids on the cans and evacuate the cans or seal them with a certain gas before closing them.
- the lids on the cans are then sealed with a seam and firmly connected to the can.
- the site mentioned uses a flanged edge to seal the lid and can. After this can has three parts in the prior art, it is costly to manufacture.
- the object of the invention is therefore to offer the bottler or packer of the dry filling goods a cheaper alternative with which he can pack his filling goods.
- the end user should benefit from more convenient and advantageous handling. This is achieved with the technical (use) teaching of claim 1.
- the invention proposes to use (conventional) beverage cans for the packaging purposes mentioned. These cans are only formed in two parts and can therefore be manufactured inexpensively. They have a special type of lid, with which only one metering opening - previously: liquid opening - is now exposed when opening, through which metering opening the dry contents of the two-part can can be removed.
- the size of the metering opening can be adapted to the type and size of the dry filling material (more precisely: the filling pieces). This metering opening and the adaptation of its size to the contents of the two-part can make handling easier for the end user, since the dry (nut) filling material remaining in the container is much better protected than before with only partial removal.
- the tear-open can for the dry filling goods according to the invention is designed like a two-part beverage can, the costs for the production of this can decrease since it is a can - which is used regularly for drinks - and is produced in millions.
- a reduction in the manufacturing costs can be passed on directly to the bottler or packer of the dry filling goods, so the more convenient and advantageous handling for the end user is not paid for by a higher price for the tear-open box, which is even reduced compared to the three-part tin packaging for dry filling goods customary on the market.
- the invention benefits from the fact that the systems used for sealing such cans are widespread and are therefore also available at low cost.
- the size of the tear-open part delimited by a score line can be adapted to the size of the filling material (claim 4).
- the shape of the can body - the lower part of the two-part beverage can - can have a retracted open (upper) end (claim 2).
- the gassing cams and / or degassing cams (claim 3) facilitate the evacuation of the can, onto which the lid is clipped, and the filling of the can with inert gas. If an excess pressure is generated with the inert gas, the thin-walled fuselage stabilizes.
- the radial dimension of the tear-open part can be approximately equal to half the inner diameter of the tear-open cover (claim 5); it can also be somewhat smaller than the stated dimension (claim 5, second alternative).
- the most concrete use is for packaging nuts, especially peanuts.
- the can body 2 of the can 1 corresponds to the body of a typical beverage can as used for beer or other carbonated beverages or for still drinks with a content of, for example, 330 ml in millions.
- the can body 2 is made in one piece from sheet metal, tinplate or aluminum by deep drawing and stretching with a one-piece molded bottom and a one-piece molded folding edge.
- the bottom 3 is, as indicated in Fig. 1, profiled in order to stabilize it even with overpressure in the can.
- the fuselage wall is extremely thin and therefore the can body 2 is inherently unstable.
- the end 4 of the can body containing the opening is preferably drawn in, as shown.
- the lid 5 which is also made of sheet metal, has a folded edge 10 which, possibly with the interposition of a sealing material, is deformed with the fold of the container body to form a conventional mechanically strong and pressure-tight double fold seam 6.
- the cover 5 has a cover mirror 12, in which a tear-open part 14 is delimited by a closed score line 13.
- the tear-open part 14 is designed in the shape of a sector of a circle.
- the radially outer part of the score line runs close to the usual core base bead 11, which is delimited on the outside by the core bevel of the cover, from which the cover fold edge 10 projects radially.
- the circumferential width of the tear-off part 14 in the form of a sector of a circle extends over an angle between 100 and 150 ° and, as shown at 15 in FIG. 2, is approximately 130 ° in the preferred embodiment. Its extent along the radius 18 is approximately equal to the length of the radius 18, in the preferred embodiment somewhat less.
- a conventional tear-open tab 16 is fastened lying flat on the cover by means of rivets 17, with the aid of which the tear-open part 14 can be broken in and torn out and removed.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 several gassing cams 7 distributed in the circumferential direction are embossed in the edge fold 10 of the cover 5.
- the lid 3 is first clipped onto the edge of the fuselage.
- the filled can can be brought into an evacuation chamber and the interior evacuated and then filled with an inert gas, whereupon the can is hermetically sealed by reshaping the edges of the can and lid to form the double seam 6.
- an overpressure can be generated in the can by the inert gas, which stabilizes the thin-walled body 2.
- the cams 7 are effective and useful also when a venting or degassing phase is provided or necessary.
- the body axis of the can is indicated by 8 in FIG.
- the body part 2 of the can 1 can typically correspond to the body part of a beverage can with the dimensions 66/57/115 mm and can be used in an unpainted or lacquered embodiment.
- the lid can have a diameter of 57 mm.
