Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for rewinding several strips of thin material, in particular a metallized strip, previously worked simultaneously by a machine for converting sheet material such as cardboard, paper, plastic, etc.
  • Processing machines intended for example for hot or cold deposition of a metallized film according to one or more patterns given on the sheet material to be worked, generally comprise at least one metallized tape dispenser, organs to unwind this metallized strip intermittently, so that its surface used is optimal and a rewinding mechanism of the metallized strip used.
  • the mechanism for rewinding the metallized strip comprises, in the devices known to date, a take-up reel per metallized strip. It is common to encounter the use of several metallized strips placed side by side across the width of the machine. This arrangement requires, of course, a number of receiving coils which is equal to the number of metallized strips used. If, for example, we choose to use four metallized strips, we will have to have four receiving coils which will be arranged in pairs on two pivoting transverse bars, mounted between the frames of the processing machine.
  • Each of these take-up coils is connected to its respective pivoting crossbar using a lever arm.
  • the receiving coils are driven using two rotating shafts, arranged transversely between the frames of the processing machine.
  • the circumference of each of these rotating shafts comes into contact with the circumference of the circular lateral cheeks of the respective receiving coils and, therefore, a continuous friction drive takes place.
  • the advance of each metallized strip being different, there will therefore be an irregular rotation of the receiving coils. This means that, in certain cases, a take-up reel will rotate, while another, that of a metallized strip which has not been moved, will be stationary and will have its circumference rubbed on the circumference of the rotating shaft.
  • the patent US-A-2 800 326 describes a rewinding device of a single strip comprising a frame at the upper part of which are arranged two guide rollers, a third strip tensioning roller located below the two guide rollers , a take-up reel and a gear motor for driving said reel.
  • the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks. To this end, it solves the problem of rewinding, regularly, a metallized strip previously worked by a processing machine, using a rewinding device characterized in that it comprises an upper frame connected by columns and a support leg to a lower frame, said upper frame being equipped with at least one rewinding member composed of a motor-reducer on the axis of which is mounted a take-up reel, of at least a first roller and a third roller for guiding the metallized strip, in that said means for applying a mechanical tension to each strip comprise at least one vertical slide disposed between the upper frame and the lower frame, said vertical slide being equipped with a walkman on which a second roller is mounted, in that upper, lower and strip break limit switches are arranged in the vicinity ge of each vertical slide on transverse supports and on a cross member, the lower limit switches being intended to cause the starting of said motor-reducers and, thereby, said rewinding, and the upper limit switches and band breakage being intended
  • the device is distinguished by great accessibility and ease of changing the take-up reels, combined with precise and constant control of the rewind tension.
  • Figure 1 shows a rewinding station 1 placed perpendicularly to a platen press of which only the left side frame 2 has been shown in this figure.
  • This left lateral frame 2 has an opening 3 through which the metallized bands 4 to 4 having been worked in the platen press pass.
  • These metallized bands 4 to 4 are transported, in the platen press, in the same direction as the sheets of paper or cardboard on which a portion of metallized material is to be deposited. It is obvious that to be delivered to the rewinding station, these metallized bands 4 to 4e must undergo a change of orientation, which is carried out in the press using idler rollers (not shown) judiciously arranged so in that the metallized strips are present, in the opening 3, in a "flat" position, in the extension of the rewinding station 1.
  • a rewinding member of the metallized strip In order to simplify the description, we will take into account that a rewinding member of the metallized strip.
  • the rewinding devices of the other metallized bands are similar and their operation and construction may be understood by analogy to the rewinding device that we will describe below. They will be referenced by the same signs to which the letters a to e will be added.
  • the rewinding member of the metallized strip 4 comprises a motor-reducer 9 (see FIG. 2) on the axis 70 of which is mounted a reel holder hub 10.
  • This reel holder hub receives a take-up reel 11 on which is wound the metallized strip 4 which was used in the platen press.
  • the metallized strip 4 coming from the platen press is guided by a first roller 12, then passes around a part of the circumference of a second roller 13 mounted on a walkman 14 moving along a vertical slide 15 having the form of an axis extending between a cross member 75 fixed to the lower part of the columns 22 and 23 and the sole 36 of the upper frame 20.
  • the metallized strip 4 finally passes around a third roller 16 before be conducted on the take-up reel 11.
  • the travel of the player 14 is limited in its amplitude by upper limit switches 17, lower 18 and band break 19. The functions of these different switches will be explained further in the present description.
  • the lower frame 21 also includes a mechanism intended for moving the rewinding station 1. This mechanism comprises two rollers 25 and 26 each mounted on an arm 27 respectively 28 welded to the part lower of each of the columns 22 and 23 and a rear support 29 welded to the junction of the two beams constituting the lower chassis 21.
  • This rear support 29 comprises a plate 30 provided with a threaded rod 31 on which a nut 32 is disposed.
  • the threaded rod 31 engages in a thread arranged in the rear support 29. It is therefore possible, with this arrangement, to level and move the rewinding station 1, this using a lifting device (not shown) comprising a lifting member mounted on rollers so that the rear support 29 of the rewinding station 1 having been lifted off the ground, it can be moved at will.
  • FIG 2 is a view along A of Figure 1.

  • the movement imparted to the lardons 111 for tightening or loosening the coils is obtained by acting on two screws 123 and 124 engaging in the threads 106 and 107 of the circular flange 105 and freely crossing the ring crenellated 113.
  • the clamping ring 120 is displaced axially, which allows, on loosening, the axial displacement of the ring crenellated 113 to the right of the figure and causes the movement of the clamping strips 111 in the direction of the axis 70.
  • the rewinding station 1 has six winding stations, but it is obvious that this number can be increased as required.
  • This device works as follows: Let us admit that one uses in the platen press six metallized bands, that because of a given work; the six reel hubs 10 to 10 are used. Firstly, the end of each metallized strip is fixed on a tight empty reel, using the clamping lard 111, on each of the reel-bearing hubs 10 to 10, after having passed the metallized strips 4 to 4th around their deflection rollers and their respective Walkman (see Figure 1). At this stage, the device is ready to be used, all the portable players 14 to 14e are located in their high position 13 ⁇ (see FIG. 2). The platen press is set in motion and the metallized bands used will be delivered, this with different advances, to the rewinding station 1.
  • each player 14 to 14 will perform a different downward stroke and will maintain, under the effect of gravity, a tension in the strands of the metallic strip.
  • the portable players 14 to 14 will descend more and more, until one of them, arrived in position 13 ′ ( see figure 2) triggers its lower limit switch 18 to 18th.
  • This triggering will cause the reduction motor 9 to 9 concerned to be controlled and, thereby, the metallized strip to be wound on its take-up reel.
  • the player will be quickly reassembled and will trigger the upper limit switch 17 to 17th, which will have the effect of interrupting the power supply to the reduction motor and thereby the rewinding operation. Since the metallic strip always arrives at rewinding station 1, the player will descend and the cycle will start again.
  • One or the other of the metallized bands may break during work. If this happens, the player concerned will fall and trigger one of the band break switches 19 to 19. This trip will cause the machine to come to a complete stop and also cut off the power supply to the reduction motors 9 to 9e.
  • the operator will therefore be obliged, in these conditions, to use the elevator 40.
  • the crank 64 By actuating the crank 64, the latter will cause, by means of the drum 51 (see FIG. 3) and the cable 50, the rise of the transverse bar 41 which, in passing, will drive up all the portable players 14 to 14e and will thus make it possible to restore the circuit of the broken metallized strip.
  • the extension 68 of the axis 61 of the lifting device 52 will have actuated the switch 69 during the raising of the transverse bar 41 and, the circuit of the broken metallized strip having been re-established again, it will be necessary to return, using the lifting device 52, the transverse bar 41 to its lower position. During this operation, the switch 69 will be released and therefore the platen press and the rewinding station will again be put into operating conditions.
  • the user of such a rewinding device thus has in his hands a device which is simple to use, easy to adjust and which also has the advantage of a large linear travel of the portable players, thus making it possible, by playing on the elasticity of the bands. metallized materials used, to limit band breaks and thereby increase the productivity of the platen press with which the device is associated.
