Definitions
- the invention relates to a control device for a fuel injection nozzle of an internal combustion engine, in particular a diesel engine, with a displaceably guided valve body controlled by a drive element, which forms a valve seat and has an interior, and with a pressure space between an inlet and the valve seat, wherein at closed valve seat in the pressure chamber builds up an injection pressure for the injection nozzle and when the valve seat is open there is pressure equalization between the pressure chamber and an outlet.
- the drive element for example electronically controlled, emits a force-displacement pulse with which the valve seat is closed. This is in a fuel return line. By closing the valve seat, a desired, high injection pressure builds up on the injection nozzle of the relevant cylinder of the internal combustion engine.
- valve seat is provided at the end of the valve body near the drain.
- the volume of the pressure chamber is correspondingly large.
- a large-volume pressure chamber is unfavorable, however, since a correspondingly large fuel volume must be pressurized when the valve seat is closed.
- the valve seat is opened, the fuel must flow outside the valve body. A comparatively high flow resistance is to be expected, which delays the pressure equalization.
- the object of the invention is to improve a control device of the type mentioned in such a way that, on the one hand, the pressure build-up takes place quickly when the valve seat is closed and, on the other hand, the pressure equalization takes place quickly when the valve seat is open.
- the above object is achieved in a control device of the type mentioned at the outset in that the valve seat is formed by the end of the valve body which is close to the inlet, that when the valve seat is open, the pressure chamber communicates with the interior of the valve body via the valve seat and that the interior is connected to the valve body Process is open.
- the volume of the pressure chamber which lies between the inlet and the valve seat, is comparatively small. Accordingly, only a small volume of fuel needs to be pressurized to open the injector. This accelerates the pressure build-up.
- the pressure chamber communicates with the comparatively large-volume interior of the valve body.
- the flow resistance during pressure equalization is low, so that pressure equalization takes place quickly.
- valve body has a comparatively small, moving mass. It has a tubular shape and does not need any outside Area where the fuel flows out when the pressure is equalized. Overall, the control characteristic of the control device is improved by the measures described.
- valve seat diameter on the valve body is smaller than its guide diameter.
- a tubular valve body (2) is slidably mounted in a valve housing (1).
- the guide diameter of the valve body (2) in the valve housing (1) is designated D1.
- a valve seat (4) is formed between one end edge (3) of the valve body (2) and the valve housing (1).
- the valve seat diameter is designated D2. This is slightly smaller than the guide diameter D1.
- the valve body (2) forms an interior (5).
- the valve seat (4) is shown in its open position in the figure.
- the compression spring (7) presses the valve body (2) with its end edge (8) facing away from the end edge (3) against a stop ring (9) via the snap ring (6).
- cup part (10) On the front edge (8) there is a cup part (10) which is connected to a membrane (11).
- the cup part (10) is provided with openings (12) which lead to an outlet (13) to lead.
- the interior (5) is thus open to the drain (13).
- a play compensation element (15) is arranged in an upper part (14) of the valve housing (1), which on the one hand abuts the cup part (10) and on the other hand is acted upon by a drive element (16).
- An inlet (17) is provided on the valve body (2).
- An annular pressure chamber (18) is formed between this and the valve seat (4).
- the valve housing (1) is inserted into a base body (19). It is held in this by means of a screw sleeve (20).
- the sequence (13) continues in the base body (19).
- a further outlet (21) is provided on the valve body (2) in the area of the interior (5). This is assigned to a corresponding opening (22) in the base body (19).
- the base body (19) is designed so that only one of the processes (13, 21) is effective.
- the drain (13 or 21) is connected to the low pressure side of an injection pump, not shown.
- An injection nozzle, not shown, and the inlet (17) are located on the high-pressure side thereof.
- Fuel is supplied by the injection pump through the inlet (17), the pressure chamber (18), the valve seat (4), the interior (5) and the outlet (13 or 21) connected in each case. No pressure builds up in the pressure chamber (18), so that the injection nozzle is closed.
- the compression spring (7) keeps the valve seat (4) open.
- the drive element (16) If the drive element (16) is actuated, for example electronically controlled, then it presses the cup part (10) onto the valve body (2) via the play compensation element (15) so that the valve seat (4) counteracts the force of the compression spring (7). closes.
- a high pressure for example 1000 bar, builds up in the pressure chamber (18) and opens the injection nozzle.
- the locking force to be transmitted to the valve seat (4) is comparatively low, since the valve seat diameter (D2) and the guide diameter (D1) are essentially the same size.
- valve body (2) moves under the action of the compression spring (7).
- the opening effect is supported by the fact that the valve seat diameter (D2) is slightly smaller than the guide diameter (D1).

Abstract
