Claims (2)

  1. Procédé pour la production d'une fibre de carbone à base de brai, comprenant l'hydrogénation d'un brai carboné en présence d'un catalyseur d'hydrogénation pour ajouter au brai deux moles d'hydrogène ou plus par mole de brai; puis le traitement à chaud du brai hydrogéné à la pression atmosphérique ou sous une pression réduite pour obtenir un brai optiquement anisotrope; la récupération à partir de ce brai optiquement anisotrope d'un composant qui est insoluble dans un solvant organique ayant un paramètre de solubilité à 25°C de 7,4 à 9,0 et soluble dans un solvant organique ayant un paramètre de solubilité à 25°C de 9,2 à 11,0, pour obtenir un brai à filer ayant une teneur en phase optiquement anisotrope de 5% à 40% en volume; puis le filage de ce brai à filer; puis l'infusibilisation de la fibre de brai résultante et ensuite la carbonisation de la fibre de brai ainsi infusibilisée.
  2. Procédé suivant la revendication 1, dans lequel le brai carboné est hydrogéné à une température comprise dans la gamme de 150°C à 450°C, à une pression comprise dans la gamme de 30 à 250 kg/cm² et à une vitesse spatiale (LHSV) comprise dans la gamme de 0,15 à 3,0.
