Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for longitudinal adjustment of ski binding parts according to the first part of claim 1.
  • the insert As can be seen from FIG. 5 and the associated description, has a plurality of upwardly projecting components, a bend, a bracket for inserting a tool and two outwardly pointing pointers. Furthermore, the insert piece is mounted on projections of the guide plate by means of two lateral approaches. Furthermore, two further, outwardly facing approaches are provided, which are intended for locking the set member on projections of the guide plate. The entire insert is therefore bulky.
  • Another disadvantage of this known device is that the two rods of the yoke slide in the holes of the bend of the slide element under any load originating from the binding part, since the two springs are arranged between the bend and the yoke.
  • the arrangement is such that in the locked state of the device, i.e. in the driving position of the ski binding, the two rods and thus the two springs assume an oblique position with respect to the support element, as a result of which a component of the existing spring force is ineffective. For this reason, stronger springs must be used than would be necessary with an arrangement that enables the springs to be accommodated in the direction of the load that occurs.
  • EP-A-0123820 discloses another device for longitudinal adjustment of ski binding parts.
  • the two springs are arranged in the plane in which the load occurs, but there is a power transmission between the insert and the two springs effecting piston installed.
  • the device is necessarily longer than necessary and there is an additional component, namely the piston, which is subject to friction during travel.
  • DE-A-3122468 discloses a device which is also suitable for the longitudinal adjustment of ski binding parts, but which device differs generically from the prior art already taken into account.
  • the invention has for its object to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned and to provide a device for the longitudinal adjustment of ski binding parts, in which an automatic fine adjustment of the ski binding part, in particular the toe piece, without using a bulky insert or a piston and with full use of the built-in springs can be made.
  • the insert is designed as a simple angle lever, which is located in the guide plate area can be integrated or directly engages the springs with its shorter lever arm, the longer lever arm, due to its favorable power transmission, allowing the user to operate it directly without using any tools.
  • the additional effect is achieved in a ski binding, the guide plate of which is pivotally mounted about a vertical pivot in the horizontal plane, that an automatic fine adjustment of the front jaw is brought about.
  • AT-PS 344.561 shows different versions of ski bindings with a sole plate.
  • the front jaw is pressed against the ski boot by a tension spring, likewise in the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4.
  • the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 to 10 is characterized in that the pivot is mounted next to the plate and a turntable for a heel holder.
  • a compression spring is accommodated in the sole plate, but this only serves to move the toe piece away from the sole holder in the event of a fall. Neither of these designs is suitable for adapting ski binding parts to different ski boot sizes.
  • the AT-PS 355.964 describes a safety ski binding with a step frame which can be rotated about a ski-fixed axis and on which a toe and a roller sled is guided.
  • the slide is acted upon by a thrust spring, so that the roller is constantly in contact with a control cam.
  • the roller moves along the control curve. This moves the cheek towards the tip of the ski and releases the ski boot.
  • This binding is also not suitable for automatic compensation of the length tolerances of the ski boot.
  • the subject of claim 3 enables easy assembly of the wire bracket with the two compression springs.
  • claim 5 prevents the ingress of dirt into the interior of the latching device and serves to secure the insert against undesired and unwanted opening and at the same time to rest the ski boot.
  • FIG. 1 is a partially sectioned side view of the ski binding according to the invention and FIG. 2 shows the front area of the guide plate according to FIG. 1, the latching device not being shown for reasons of clarity.
  • Fig. 3 shows in section along the line III-III in Fig. 6, a detail of Fig. 2 on a larger scale in the driving position of the ski binding.
  • Fig. 5 is a section along the line V-V in Fig. 3
  • Fig. 6 shows a plan view of Fig. 3, with the covers omitted
  • FIG. 1 denotes a ski on which a ski binding designated in its entirety with 2 is attached.
  • This ski binding 2 has a mounting plate 3 in its rear area and a base plate 4 in its front area.
  • the two plates 3 and 4 are by means of Screws 7 screwed onto the top 1a of the ski 1.
  • a pivot pin 5 is attached to the mounting plate 3 and is used for the pivotable mounting of a guide plate 8.
  • This carries at its rear end a heel holder 9 which is supported by a roller 9a under the influence of two springs 9b on a control cam 3a of the mounting plate 3.
  • the guide plate 8 and the heel holder 9 are held in their central position by the control cam 3a.
  • a known ski brake 15 of any type is assigned to the heel holder 9.
  • a slide 11 is guided, which carries the sole holder 12b of a two-part front jaw 12 at its front end.
  • the front part of the front jaw 12 is designed as a guide block 12a for the sole holder 12b and is guided on the base plate 4 so as to be longitudinally displaceable.
  • the carriage 11 carries a sliding plate 6 on its underside.
  • the guide plate 8 has a recess 13, the long sides of which carry rows of teeth 14.
  • the carriage 11 carries in the half adjacent to the pivot 5 a downward bend 11a.
  • an insert piece 16 is inserted, which engages in the locked position with its locking member 16a having teeth in the tooth rows 14 of the guide plate 8.
  • the insert 16 is - viewed in longitudinal section - formed as a non-uniform angle lever, the shorter lever arm 16b of which is supported in the form of a bent crosspiece on an end wall 11b of a recess 11c in the slide 11.
  • the insert 16 can be pivoted, the teeth of the locking member 16a being the row of teeth 14 leave the guide plate 8. Furthermore, the insert 16 is equipped on its longer lever arm 16c, which acts as a power arm, with a bend 16d, which enables a screwdriver to attack during the adjustment process.
  • the insert 16 is supported on the end wall 11b by means of an offset 16e running between the two lever arms 16b and 16c.
  • a wire bracket 17 Arranged on the underside of the slide 11 is a wire bracket 17 which is U-shaped in plan view and whose web 17a comes to rest on the bend 11a.
  • the two legs 17b of the wire bracket 17 are mounted in elongated holes 16f, which are recessed in the shorter lever arm 16b of the insert 16.
  • the free ends of the legs of the wire bracket 17 are angled at an obtuse angle ⁇ in order to be introduced during assembly.
  • compression springs 18 On the two legs 17b of the wire bracket 17 between the bend 11a of the carriage 11 and the shorter lever arm 16b of the insert 16 compression springs 18 are arranged, which strive to slide the carriage 11 over the insert 16 and thereby over the guide plate 8 against the pivot 5 to postpone.
  • compression springs 18 have the purpose, on the one hand, to compensate for inaccuracies in assembly and, on the other hand, changes in length due to temperature fluctuations, in which the length of the clamped ski boot changes. The measure is thus intended to bring about automatic fine adjustment of the toe piece.
  • the carriage 11 is provided with a cover 19 which is U-shaped in cross section and which covers the latching device 10 towards the top.
  • This cover 19 is located in its central region at a distance from the guide plate 8 and has an opening 19a above the latching device 10. Under this opening 19a, a slide 20 is arranged, which covers the insert 16 and the two rows of teeth 14 and thereby secures the insert 16 in its locked position.
  • Cover 19 and slide 20 are advantageously made of plastic.
  • the ski binding 2 assumes the position shown in FIG. 1. If the front jaw 12 is now to be adjusted relative to the ski-fixed pivot 5, the slide 20 is displaced with one finger by the user in the direction of the pivot 5. Thereafter, the insert 16 is pivoted counterclockwise so that its teeth 16a disengage from the two rows of teeth 14. In this position of the insert 16, the carriage 11 can be adjusted in both directions relative to the guide plate 8
