Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fitting for preventing the backflow of water in a supply line according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such fittings generally include two check valves in series with a vent valve in between.
- a fitting is known, for example, from US-A-4 207 015.
- This known valve works as a backflow preventer and comprises a vertical and parallel arrangement of all valves, so that when a cover is removed, these valves can easily be replaced or serviced without the entire valve having to be removed from the supply line.
- the check valves have a similar construction, and different mounting devices are provided for each check valve, so that the risk of incorrect use of the check valves in the valve is eliminated.
- the vent valve is arranged laterally from the plane in which the two check valves are located, which results in a solid fitting with an asymmetrical construction.
- FR-A-2 544 832 shows a check valve in which the two check valves are arranged in the inlet and outlet. In order to be able to replace them, the chamber vented by the vent valve must be of relatively large volume.
- the fitting has a cross-shaped housing 10 with a water inlet connector 12 and a water outlet connector 14 which are aligned with one another.
- these connecting pieces 12, 14 can be connected to an incoming and outgoing water pipe 18.
- Shut-off valves are not shown, which are arranged in front of and behind the fitting in the water line 18 and which are closed when maintenance work, e.g. the valves on the valve must be replaced.
- the housing 10 merges into a cuboid housing part 20 above the inlet and outlet ports 12 and 14, in order then to assume a cup-shaped shape 22 at the top.
- a central bore 24 is made from above in the cuboid housing part 20 and two further bores 26 and 28 are made on both sides of this central bore 24.
- the bores 24 - 28 are all offset in diameter in order to be able to arrange a valve tappet 30 and a return spring 32 surrounding it in the central bore 24 and to arrange check valves 34 and 36 in the other two bores 26 and 28.
- the return spring 32 is supported on the shoulder 38 formed in the bore 24 and the check valves 34 and 36 are also supported with valve seat bodies 40 and 42 on bore paragraphs 44 and 46. Both valve seat bodies 40 and 42 are held in their illustrated position by spring rings 52 and 54 engaging in grooves 48 and 50. Closing bodies 60 and 62, which are prestressed by springs 56 and 58 of different strengths, are supported on corresponding valve seats on the valve seat bodies 40 and 42.
- the valve lifter 30 is connected via a diaphragm plate 64 to a diaphragm 66, which is clamped between a flange collar 68 of the cup-shaped housing part 22 and a cover 70.
- the connection between cover and housing is done by screws, not shown.
- the valve lifter 30 extends through the membrane 66 and through a further membrane 72 with a smaller diameter, which also extends in a central recess 74 in the cover 70 inside collar flange 76 is inserted.
- the effective membrane diameter of the membrane 72 corresponds to the valve seat diameter of the valve seat 116.
- the recess 74 has an internal thread 78 into which a threaded hood 80 is screwed in order to clamp the membrane 72 between itself and the flange collar 76.
- a spacer sleeve 82 and a thrust washer 84 provide a constant distance between the two membranes 66 and 72 and a nut 86 screwed onto the end of the valve lifter 30 braces the entire arrangement.
- the threaded hood 80 is provided with a breathing opening 88.
- the space 94 between the two membranes 66 and 72 is connected to the water inlet connection 12 via a channel 90. Furthermore, a test connection 92 is provided in the cover 70, at which the inlet pressure can be measured. In the same way, a channel 96 connects the water outlet connection 14 to a test connection 98 in the cover 70, at which the outlet pressure can be measured. Another test connection, not shown, in the cover 70 allows the measurement of the pressure in a space 100 between the rear of the check valve 34 and the front of the check valve 36. This space 100 is above recesses 102, 102 '(see FIG. 2) with an output intermediate chamber 104 connected, which is delimited by two partitions 106, 108 and a relief valve 110.
- the relief valve 110 is seated in a drain port 112 which extends downward concentrically to the valve lifter 30.
- a drain port 112 In the drain port 112 is a Screwed in valve seat body 114, whose valve seat 116 interacts with a closing body 118 arranged at the lower end of the valve lifter 30.
- a drain funnel 120 is screwed onto the drain port 112.
- both check valves 34 and 36 are closed and the vent valve 110 is opened, so that a backflow from the exit to the inlet is not possible and the intermediate chamber 100, 104 through the vent valve 110 is vented or drained.

Description
- Fig. 1
- einen Axialschnitt durch die erfindungsgemäße Armatur; und
