Definitions
- the invention relates to a sighting device for weapons, the targets of which are at varying distances and the projectiles which are fired have a curved trajectory.
- the aiming device determines the distance from the weapon to the target. Based on the determined distance, the stopping point is corrected taking into account the respective ballistic trajectory, which is dependent on the weapon and ammunition used.
- the correction of the stopping point is achieved in that a storage medium in which the respective ballistic trajectory is stored correlates the data of the distance measurement with the data of the ballistic trajectory. This results in a signal which drives a diode line which is reflected in the beam path of the optics. Depending on the distance and trajectory, a certain diode lights up in the line, which is now brought into alignment with the target.
- the shooter has various target aids available. Without optical magnification, these are: rear sight and front sight, rear sight and the like. With optical magnification, they are the riflescopes. When shooting over the rear sight and the sight, the shooter must estimate the distance and choose his stopping point according to the ballistic trajectory. When using a telescopic sight, the shooter has a slight advantage in that he estimates the distance based on the size of the target shown and chooses his stopping point according to the ballistic trajectory.
- the determination of the distance is an estimate and is inevitably subject to a greater or lesser degree of inaccuracy.
- the shooter should know the respective ballistic trajectory, which is not always or not exactly the case. In any case, the shooter must estimate the distance before firing the shot and convert this value into a corresponding correction of the stopping point and meeting point, which in turn takes place more or less precisely. Both shortcomings inevitably lead to inaccurate shots.
- the shooter has little help when using a sliding sight or rear sight with range marks.
- riflescopes with an adjusting ring, where the height of the target is adjusted according to the set distance. In these cases, the inexact estimate of the distance always remains.
- the sliding sight on the distance or the collar must be adjusted accordingly before firing the shot, which results in a time problem with a quick shot.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of creating a target device for weapons which automatically and automatically carries out the correction of the stopping point in accordance with the distance and ballistic trajectory and thus brings the stopping point in accordance with the meeting point at any distance.
- a rangefinder is located in the aiming device, similar to a telescopic sight.
- the rangefinder can also be housed in the weapon.
- the rangefinder sends out a pulse such as a laser beam, infrared beam, sound waves, microwaves or the like. This pulse is reflected by the target and detected by the receiver located in the target device or weapon. The distance is determined based on the different transit times.
- the known data of the ballistic trajectory, which are determined by the weapon and ammunition used, are programmed in advance in a storage medium (e.g. semiconductor memory).
- the data of the distance measurement are correlated with the data of the ballistic trajectory. This results in a signal which drives a vertical diode line, which is reflected in the target device on a second image plane.
- a certain diode lights up in the vertical row of diodes.
- the light-emitting diode is now brought to coincide with the target, whereby the desired match between the stopping point and the meeting point is achieved.
- the solution according to the invention has the following advantages over known target aids: - the shooter no longer has to estimate the distance - The shooter no longer has to convert the ballistic trajectory, which is dependent on the distance, into a stopping point that deviates from the meeting point - The shooter no longer needs to adjust the distances such as moving a sight or the like before firing the shot - the shooter can shoot much faster and more accurately - the shooter hits exactly where he aimed - By simply replacing the storage medium, the target device can be used for a wide variety of weapons and various ammunition.
- the distance determined by the range finder is reflected in the target device in the form of a number or in the form of symbols.
- the target device can also be expediently used as a range finder.
- a further significant advantage is that the shooter receives information about the kinetic energy hitting the target from the exact distance, which is known to be dependent on the distance. As a practical example, a hunter knows that due to the ammunition used, wild game killing is only possible up to a certain distance and at a greater distance fired shot can not be fatal due to insufficient kinetic energy. Here the well-practiced and thus visible distance of the target is a valuable help.
- Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 the shooting with previous aiming aids is shown.
- the weapon is shot from 100 m, i.e. the sight line (1) and the ballistic curve (2) of the projectile cross at a distance of 100 m. If you shoot at a shorter distance than 100 m, the meeting point is higher than the stopping point; if the shooting distance is greater than 100 m, the meeting point is lower than the stopping point.
- 2 shows a shot with the same weapon at a distance of 300 m.
- the shooter is forced to aim the stop (4) higher by the distance (3) than the meeting point (5). This results in the correction angle ⁇ , which is known to be imprecise because the distance (3) on the target plane must be estimated.
- a weapon (6) is shown on which the aiming device is mounted.
- the drawing does not show the energy source and the cabling of the individual modules.
- a switch (8) for the distance measurement such that the range finder (9) is switched on before the shot is triggered.
- a second switch (10) is attached parallel to the switch (8), with which the range finder (9) can also be switched on without having to touch the trigger (7).
- the mounting parts (11) and (11 ') are designed so that an adjustment of the aiming device to the weapon (6) is possible and also have insulated contacts that are used for wiring the weapon and the target device.
- the range finder (9) was shown schematically in the target device, but it can also be accommodated in the weapon (6).
- the pulse emanating from the range finder (9) such as laser beam, infrared beam, sound waves, microwaves or the like is reflected by the target and detected by the receiver accommodated in the range finder (9).
- the distance is determined based on the different transit times.
- the data from the distance measurement are then forwarded to the storage medium (12).
- the known data of the ballistic trajectory are contained in the storage medium (12). Now the data of the distance measurement are correlated with the data of the ballistic trajectory and a corresponding signal is generated.
- the storage medium (12) is designed to be exchangeable so that the target device can be easily and economically equipped with a wide variety of ballistic data.
- the signal emitted by the storage medium (12) drives a vertical diode line (13) in the unit (14), which lines the vertical diode line into the beam path (15) of the optics reflects. Depending on the distance and the ballistic trajectory, the corresponding diode (16) lights up.
- the optical part of the aiming device is similar to that of a telescopic sight and consists of the objective (17), the reversing system (18) and the eyepiece (19).
- the beam path (15) strikes the eye (20).
- the determined distance from the unit (14) is reflected as a value (21) in the beam path (15).
- the determined distance of 125 m was selected, which appears to be visible to the eye (20) as 125 m.
- jumps in distance can also be reflected in the form of symbols.
- the storage medium (12) controls the diode array (13) in such a way that the corresponding diode (16) lights up permanently up to the specified maximum shot distance. However, if the determined distance is greater, the diode (16) flashes.
- the crosshair (22) is shown as it is seen by the eye 20 above the target device rotated through 90 °.
- the crosshair (22) is located in the first image plane and naturally in the beam path (15).
- the reflected-in diode row (13) with the value (21) of the distance is located in a second image plane and is also shown as it can be seen by the eye (20) when the distance measurement has taken place.
- the range finder (9) is switched off, the eye (20) only sees the crosshairs (22).
- the value (21) of the distance lights up as an example and a corresponding diode (16) becomes visible.
- the other diodes of the diode row (13) are not visible.
- the lighting up of the corresponding diode (16) is shown in the drawing by a beam of rays.
- Fig. 4 shows schematically the target device, the eye (20) and the target (5) without correction of the stopping point and at the same time shows the arrangement in the distance measurement.
- the crosshairs (22) and the target (5) are brought into line and the corresponding diode (16) lights up.
- the angle ⁇ is the correction angle.
- FIG. 5 also schematically shows the aiming device, the eye (20) and the target (5) with correction of the stopping point and shows the arrangement immediately when the shot is fired.
- the illuminating diode (16) and the target (5) are brought into congruence.

Abstract
