Definitions

  • the invention relates to a racket, in particular for tennis, with a racket head which is delimited by a frame consisting of a tube, the frame being guided to the handle with both arms and ending there.
  • Rhots of the generic type are known from sports such as tennis, but also squash or badminton. They are produced by cutting an initially straight, tubular material to the required length and then bending it in such a way that the arms which run symmetrically to one another come to lie against one another at the end and are rigidly connected to this and to one another by applying and fastening the handle. In the area of the racket head, the bores which later receive the sides and thereby form the covering are introduced, and in addition a racket heart which limits the racket head in the direction of the handle and connects the two frames to one another is arranged. The racket is then either embedded in plastic or painted.
  • the cross section of the tube used here is in principle arbitrary, it can in particular be round, elliptical, rectangular or square.
  • the tube is hollow on the inside or filled with a non-load-bearing material to improve the damping properties.
  • Ld.R. hits the ball during the game on the club head outside of the central axis defined by the handle, so that a torsion of the entire club head is triggered around this straight line.
  • their amplitude is determined by the distance of the point of impact from the axis and the speed of the impacting ball. This causes deviations of the kicked-back ball from the departure direction determined by the reflection laws in the case of an ideally rigid club head, which give rise to inaccuracies in the ball being played and deviation from the desired destination.
  • the term “diagonal” defines a course that starts from the front of one arm and ends on the back of the other arm of the frame. This applies to both arms, so that a total of two diagonals are to be attached, through which a plane is spanned, which is approximately perpendicular to that of the club head, but can have a certain curvature in itself, so that a right angle in the area of the connection is possible on both arms of the frame.
  • the arrangement according to the invention provides support and equilateral stabilization against torsion of the club head.
  • the rule is that both diagonals intersect at one point in the axis of the racket defined by the handle, although in principle a mutual offset and distance with respect to this axis is conceivable and possible. Viewed in the direction of the center axis of the racket, both diagonals may form two intersecting straight lines when viewed in projection.
  • the advantage that can be achieved with the invention consists primarily in the support caused by the above-described mode of action and the torsional stiffening of the club head caused thereby.
  • the fastening points of the diagonal are arranged far out as possible, that is to say in the region of the outer edge of the arms. The moment exerted on the arms by the diagonals and opposing the torsion then becomes maximum.
  • both diagonals as a single web, which is then seen in the axis direction of the racket and is formed from two triangles connected to one another at their tips, the bases of which each abut the frame.
  • the triangular shape is only a first approximation, since in general the shape of the web in both coordinates perpendicular to the central axis will be limited by hyperbolas due to the adaptation to the outer edge of the frame and in order to avoid two-dimensional transitions.
  • the web spans either a plane or a surface so curved that a right angle is included at the transition to the frame. The expansion in the direction of the axis, which is significant for increasing the air resistance, is minimal here.
  • the contact area of the diagonal to the frame should preferably be increased.
  • the improvement in the force transfer due to the enlarged edition additionally results in a support against the rotational stress of the racket about an axis of rotation running perpendicular to the plane of the racket head. It is a support against the shape of the club head deforming loads.
  • the axis of symmetry of the diagonal or the truncated cone end vertically on the frame.
  • This symmetry axis defined by the symmetrical arrangement of the truncated cone or the two diagonals runs in the plane defined by the club head.
  • a certain curvature is required, the extent of which is determined by the height of the arrangement in the region between the handle and the club head. The curvature increases when the club head is approached. The right angle requires maximum torque to be applied when the frame is twisted.
  • the transitions between frame and diagonal or web asymptotically since otherwise high stresses that would cause premature breakdown would occur at the transition points.
  • the torsional stiffening according to the invention is used in addition and next to the racket heart and whether it is used directly as a racket heart.
  • the term "club heart” is to be interpreted in the sense of the invention so that the sides forming the club head are at least partially taken up. A bat heart therefore needs additional holes through which the sides could be pulled and stretched.
  • Figure 1 shows the part of a racket according to the invention seen perpendicular to the plane of the racket head 1.
  • the two arms of the frame are shown, which merge downwards into the handle (not shown here) and, at the top, likewise not shown, merge into one another and completely enclose the racket head 1.
  • the covering formed by the sides 4 is located in the racket head 1.
  • the structure of the racket is symmetrical with respect to the central axis 5 defined by the handle.
  • the club head is limited in the direction of the grip by the club heart 6. Part of pages 4 ends there.
  • both racket heart 6 and the known and between the racket heart and handle between the two arms 2, 3 the frame web 7 are of the shape described in more detail below.
  • the borders of both the club heart 6 and the web 7 are parabolas, the upper border facing the club heart being of less curvature.
  • the contact surface 8 of bat heart 6 or web 7 on the arms 2, 3 is widened.
  • the structure is also symmetrical to the central axis 5.
  • FIG. 2 shows a section through web 7 along the line I-I and it can be seen much better from this that web 7 (in a similar way to beater heart 6) is approximately in the form of a hyperboloid.
  • the boundaries are perpendicular to the club head in the sectional plane, as can now be clearly seen in FIG. 2, two parabolas of the same curvature, the transition to the arms 2, 3 of the frame is as wide as possible and also limited by parabola in the sectional view.
  • FIG. 3 Another embodiment in the same sectional view as FIG. 2 shows FIG. 3, in which the two frames are connected to one another via a reinforcement consisting of two intersecting diagonals 9, 10. From this illustration, the effect and stabilization, and thus the generation of the torsional stiffness, which work towards supporting the two arms 2, 3 against the same torsion of the arms 2, 3, can be recognized and removed most easily.
  • the result is a racket that allows and allows a high degree of directional accuracy of the ball being played.
