Definitions

  • the invention relates to an individual identification of a plurality of detectors arranged in a double-wire detection line with closable contacts, in particular fire detectors in fire detection systems.
  • Such direct current detection systems are known as intrusion detection systems (DE-A-32 11 550), in which the individual detectors of a detection line can be identified when an alarm is triggered. A short circuit in the message line also triggers an alarm. As a result, such systems are not permitted due to regulations in a fire alarm system.
  • DE-A-2 154 537 discloses the use of diodes and the inverting of the line voltage for short-circuit detection. However, the structure of the Meider arrangement described there does not allow the location of a short circuit.
  • Optical displays arranged on detectors are relatively inexpensive to implement. However, in extensive systems, for example with 100 or more detectors, the search for a visual display of an addressed detector is quite time-consuming. Other systems lead a line from each signaling contact to a central point. This enables quick identification; however, the installation effort is considerable for such a system.
  • the invention has for its object to avoid the above disadvantages and to create an individual display that can be realized with the simplest means and reliably.
  • the value of the terminating resistor is measured when the line voltage is inverted, the previous value is a closed signal contact; this leads to the corresponding output signal and the measured resistance value is displayed as a signal location and displayed as a number.
  • the price for the two additional components installed in the detector is only a fraction of the price for the detector. Installation is extremely simple and interference-free. Each reporting location is e.g. using a site plan with numbers to locate it immediately when the message signal appears.
  • Such a device is ideally suited for monitoring slide positions, as are required for sprinkler systems.
  • Extinguishing systems in which shrinkage detectors are required for extinguishing agents can also be implemented cost-effectively.
  • the invention has the further advantage that the individual detectors do not have to be set individually on the construction site.
  • a slide-in module can be used which, in addition to the usual displays for system faults and line faults, contains a digital display that shows the number of the signaling contact addressed in the event of a system fault.
  • Each insert can monitor several detectors. The usual double wire is sufficient for the connection between the control panel and the detectors.
  • the exemplary embodiment shows a fire alarm system which consists on the one hand of an alarm line L and on the other hand of a fire alarm system Z.
  • the signal line L with the cores BC is terminated by the end line E with the terminating resistor RE.
  • a current flows through the signal line L and is determined by the constant current generator F.
  • This voltage is fed to the voltage measurement G and, via a comparator chain Q with the comparators KUA, to an evaluation circuit N.
  • the built-in detector contact S closes. This changes the number of detector resistors RM connected in series and thus also the total resistance of the signal line L through which the constant current flows.
  • the evaluation N is controlled via the comparator A of the comparator chain Q, so that an alarm message via P is issued.
  • the voltage measurement G and the message display H are activated. A number appears in the display H; this number depends on the measured voltage. Since this in turn depends on the number of resistors RM connected in series in the signal line L at the time of the alarm, this number can serve as identification of the addressed detector M.
  • the conversion of the measured voltage into the display digit is expediently designed such that a "1" is synonymous with the first detector M arranged in the message line L, and a "2" is the same as the second detector. This ensures that all detectors M have identical resistance RM and that no adjustment is necessary after the installation or expansion of a detection line.
  • the alarm message sent via P can, for example, open an alarm valve of a sprinkler system and thus start the extinguishing process in the event of a fire via the sprinkler system.
  • a diode D is connected in series with each signaling contact.
  • the feed of the signal line L is periodically inverted in polarity by an inverter I.
  • an inverter I In normal operation of the signal line L, a direct voltage which is interrupted only by the changeover time of the pole inverter operated by the inverter I is present on the comparator chain Q.
  • the value of this voltage is essentially determined by the resistor RE, the value of which is greater than the sum of all the resistances RM which are possible in a detection line. In the event of a line break, no current flows through this terminating resistor RE.
  • An interference signal is emitted via O via the comparator U of the comparator chain Q and the evaluation N. If the signal line L is short-circuited, the line voltage will drop due to the then bridged resistor RE and possibly a part of the resistor RM. This causes the comparator K of the comparator chain Q to respond and an error message to be issued.
  • the line voltage which thus fluctuates periodically, triggers the comparator A of the comparator chain Q and, via the evaluation N, releases the voltage measurement G with the subsequent message display in H.
  • only two passive components are required in the mutually identical detectors in order to signal the required individual display of the actuated detector. Also, if the number of detectors M in a detection line L is subsequently changed, no adjustment of the central station Z or manipulation of the detectors M is necessary.
