Definitions
- the invention relates to an atmospheric gas boiler with two vertically arranged end members and at least one intermediate member arranged between them and burner lances arranged in the lower part of the gas boiler, the boiler flowed through by the heating water elements having a combustion chamber and adjoining secondary heating surfaces.
- Such gas boilers are mainly used as central heating boilers.
- a blower is missing in atmospheric gas boilers.
- the combustion chamber has an opening for the entry of secondary air, while primary air is drawn in through a mixing tube of the burner or the burner lances.
- the central link extends or the central links extend only in the area of the secondary heating surfaces and end above the combustion chamber. This can result in relatively high flame or exhaust gas temperatures in the combustion chamber, which promotes the formation of NOX.
- the object of the invention is to reduce the amount of NOX produced during combustion.
- the central link has a tongue which projects into the combustion chamber and through which the heating water flows and that the tongue has cooling fins on the outside which extend into the adjacent combustion chambers.
- combustion temperatures and also the exhaust gas temperatures are in a range in which there is no significant formation of NOX.
- Each tongue of a central link should have at least one breakthrough connecting the adjacent fireboxes in order to enable pressure and / or temperature compensation between adjacent fireboxes.
- Air inlet openings are expediently formed in the floor area between the adjacent links, in the area of which the burner lances are arranged. Then the thermal energy generated in the combustion chamber or in the combustion chambers can be largely and without loss transferred to the heating water in the boiler sections.
- Radiation losses from the combustion chamber can be avoided in particular if the projection area of one or more adjacent burner lances in a projection onto the air inlet opening is equal to or larger than the area of the air inlet opening.
- the heat radiation emitted by the burner lances themselves can be used if the burner lances are at least partially arranged over their height between walls of the water-bearing cavities of the limbs, the distance of these walls from a burner lance being smaller than the entire width or the entire diameter of the relevant burner lance or burner lances.
- the walls of the water-carrying cavities in the area of the burner lances follow their contours.
- the secondary air supplied through the air inlet openings is selectively supplied to the flames emanating from each burner lance.
- the burner lances can be inserted laterally into the boiler. The generation of small amounts of NOX is still promoted if combustion air inlet openings open into the combustion chambers.
- the basic structure of the atmospheric gas boiler shown in the drawing consists of two end members 1, 2 and at least one middle member 3 arranged between them. Only one middle member 3 is shown. A plurality of similar middle members can also be arranged between the two end members.
- the end members 1, 2 and the middle member 3 have water-conducting cavities 4 to which the heating water is supplied via an inlet 5.
- the inlet 5 is located on the end member 1.
- the heating water also passes into the cavities 4 of the adjacent middle member 3 and possibly further middle members as well as into the cavity 4 of the other end member 2.
- the heated heating water is discharged from the gas boiler via an outlet (not shown) dissipated.
- the members 1, 2, 3 of the gas boiler are held together with anchors 6 in the usual way.
- the abutting surfaces between the individual links 1, 2, 3 are sealed in a known manner.
- the members 1, 2, 3 of the gas boiler are hollow over their entire height. In their lower area, they define combustion chambers 7, 8 and adjoining upper secondary heating surfaces 9, 10, which have flat cooling fins 11.
- the cooling fins can also be designed as needle fins.
- the middle member 3 has a water-bearing tongue 12 which extends into the area of the combustion zone and delimits the two adjacent combustion chambers 7, 8.
- the tongue 12 has at least one opening 13 in order to enable pressure and temperature compensation between the two combustion chambers 7, 8.
- cooling fins 14 are provided which extend into the adjacent combustion chambers 7, 8.
- Corresponding cooling fins 15 also start from the walls of the end members 1 and 2 delimiting the combustion chambers 7 and 8, respectively.
- the cooling fins 14 and 15 are also designed as flat fins.
- the cavities 4 of the links 1, 2, 3 extend, as shown, to the bottom area of the gas boiler.
- burner lances 18, 19 are arranged, which are inserted through side openings, not shown, of the gas boiler.
- only one burner lance 18 or 19 is shown in the area of each air inlet opening 16 or 17.
- several burner lances can also be arranged side by side.
- Each burner lance 18 or 19 extends essentially over the entire width of the associated combustion chamber 7 or 8.
- Each air inlet opening 16 and 17 is delimited by tongue-like sections 20, 21 of the end links 1 or 2 and the middle link 3.
- the walls of these sections 20, 21 facing the burner lances 18, 19 are brought relatively close to the burner lances 18, 19 and follow the contour of the cylindrical burner lances 18, 19 at some distance.
- this design ensures that heat radiation from the combustion chambers 7, 8 through the air inlet openings 16, 17 is avoided.
- it is achieved that the heat radiation emitted by the burner lances 18, 19 is absorbed by the tongue-like sections 20, 21 and thus made usable for heating the heating water.
- the secondary air is also selectively fed to the combustion in the indicated flame region 22.
- Extending tongue 12 in the area of the fireboxes 7, 8 is already dissipated so much heat to the heating water that the combustion temperatures in the fireboxes 7, 8 remain in a range that is not critical for the formation of significant amounts of NOX.
- the hot exhaust gases flow from the fireboxes 7, 8 in the direction of arrow 23 past the subsequent secondary heating surfaces 9 and 10 and leave the gas boiler through an outlet, not shown.
- Inlet openings for combustion air open into the combustion chambers 7, 8, for example in the form of channels which are led through the end members 1, 2 to the outside and are not shown in the drawing. This enables afterburning in the combustion chambers, which leads to a further reduction in the NOx content in the exhaust gas.

Abstract
