Definitions
- Electric furnaces in particular direct current arc furnaces, have a contact device in their base, which makes the necessary electrical contact with the scrap or the melt during the melting process.
- Such a contact device is e.g. described in EP-B1 0 058 817.
- This replacement is preferably done by removing the bottom electrode in one piece from the furnace vessel and replacing it with a new one.
- the power cables remain suspended from the bottom of the furnace.
- a base electrode arrangement for a direct current arc furnace which describes a single base electrode in several embodiments, preferably round or also polygonal, the cross section of which tapers towards the interior of the furnace, expands or remains cylindrical around it to be able to expand from the outside towards the inside of the furnace.
- the connecting piece is designed as a contact sleeve, preferably made of copper.
- the bottom electrode is supported on the side surfaces of the contact sleeve and the connector is provided with cooling channels which are closed towards the electrode.
- the contact tabs on the connector of the bottom electrode are connected to the electrical power supply cables by means of screw connections. In contrast to the invention, these tabs are to be loosened or fastened by a screw connection.
- the object of the invention is to provide a suspension for the power cable on the mating contact of the bottom electrode, which at the same time in a simple manner produces the reliable attachment to the bottom electrode required for the power line and which adapts without constraint and alignment inaccuracies.
- the configuration of the suspension device according to the invention is also characterized in that the contact devices can be reused even after the bottom electrode has been changed several times.
- Fig. 1 shows the furnace vessel (1) with the refractory lining (2) located inside.
- the bottom electrode consisting of a support plate (3), base plate (4), contact rods (5), counter contact (14) and refractory stamping (6) can be seen.
- the power cables (7) are attached to the tabs (8).
- the straps are suspended in a clamping frame (10) by means of supporting bolts (9).
- the tenter frame (10) is fastened to two supports (11), which are in turn anchored to the furnace vessel.
- Fig. 2 shows the details of the arrangement described.
- the connection between the support bolts (9) and the bracket (8) is angularly movable, for example, a spherical bearing. Due to the angular mobility, the tab is able to contact the counter contact (14) of the base electrode exactly without squeezing.
- a spring (13) which is installed in the clamping frame (10), presses the tab (8) against the mating contact (14) by means of displaceable support bolts (9) and articulated bearings (12).
- the opening of the contact device necessary for replacing the base electrode takes place in such a way that the supporting bolts (9) are withdrawn from outside the clamping frame. This also pulls the tabs (8) back and opens the contact.
- FIG. 3 shows the device in a sectional view rotated by 90 °. It can be seen that the clamping frame (10) is fastened to the insulators (16) by means of a sliding connection (15). By means of this sliding connection, the clamping frame (10) can automatically align itself with the mating contact (14) when the tabs (8) are pressed on. This freedom from torsion of the tabs (8) achieved by the sliding connection and the angular mobility of the spherical bearings ensure that the tabs (8) are correctly seated against the counter contact (14) and that the pressure is distributed evenly over the entire contact surface.
- the insulators (16) are attached to the carriers (11).
- the carriers (11) are attached to the furnace vessel (1). This arrangement has the effect that the current flows exclusively into the melt via the tabs and the bottom electrode.

Description
- Fig. 1
- einen Schnitt durch ein Elektroofengefäß,
- Fig. 2
- Fig. 3
- Fig. 2 zeigt die Details der beschriebenen Anordnung.
